I visited the Salt Ramen Specialty Hirugao at the Osaka Edion Namba Main Store. Located in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, the nearest station is Namba Station on various lines. It is located on the 9th floor of the Edion Namba store, inside Namba Ramen Ichiza. This is a second brand of the popular Setagaya Ramen shop, specializing in salt ramen, and both shops are operated side by side on the same floor. I have visited Setagaya Ramen many times, but this was my first time here. I ordered the limited Winter Fair 2022 special Spicy Miso Hormone Ramen with a Mini Curry Rice Bowl. This is a limited menu for the Winter Fair 2022 from 1/16 (Tue) to 2/28 (Sun), and each store in Namba Ramen Ichiza is offering limited menus for this event. The Mini Curry Rice Bowl is a weekday lunch set where you can choose any noodle dish for an additional 150 yen. Since the ramen was miso-based, I thought it would go well with white rice, but since the half rice was 110 yen and this was 150 yen, I chose the curry as I love curry. The soup seemed to be chicken bone broth with miso sauce, light yet flavorful, with a creamy and rich miso sauce, generous amounts of homemade chili oil and lard evenly placed, the chili oil had a pleasant spicy taste and the lard added richness, making it a spicy and oily tantanmen-style dish. The noodles were special medium-thick straight noodles. They had a slight wave to them. The noodles, which were on the moist side, were glossy and fresh, with a smooth noodle surface, a moderate firmness, and a bouncy texture. The toppings included Hormone (Shimacho), homemade leek kimchi, green onions, and white sesame seeds. The Shimacho was high-quality and fresh, with a sweet and bouncy texture. The homemade leek kimchi was spicy and well-seasoned, complementing this menu well. The Mini Curry Rice Bowl for the lunch set was a spicy curry with a Japanese-style dashi base. It had a thick texture, a moderate spiciness and sweetness, making it easy to eat and go well with the ramen, with beef, vegetables, and mushrooms simmered in it. Since the curry sauce was generously poured over it, I ate it separately and finished it. The Winter Fair 2022 limited Spicy Miso Hormone Ramen with the lunch set Mini Curry Rice Bowl was a luxurious dish with plenty of fresh Shimacho for those who love hormones (Shimacho) and spicy food. The miso and spicy tan-tan-style soup was not too spicy, with a pleasant spicy kick and a delicious miso sauce, and the lunch set Mini Curry Rice Bowl was also delicious and a great deal at 150 yen, so I enjoyed it until the end. PS. I visited here for lunch on 2/1 (Tue), but I originally planned to visit Kirimen Juusan store first, only to find a notice of closure due to a mistake in confirmation, so I rushed to Namba and came here. I had been eyeing this menu for a while, and although I still had time during the Winter Fair period, I decided to come at this timing. I usually visit at opening hours, but due to that situation, I arrived around 11:30 and there were only 2 other customers at first, then it became a private dining experience. Namba Ramen Ichiza is usually empty on weekdays, and with the overlap of the 6th wave of COVID, it is even more deserted, but on the other hand, it is a place where you can eat comfortably without being crowded, so I recommend it, and next time I would like to try their signature Salt Ramen as well. Four years ago, Ramen Ichiza opened with great fanfare on the 9th floor of Edion. When you search, you see keywords like "empty" indicating a lonely situation. I had planned to go to Setagaya, but it closed on June 30th, so I went to Hirugao as Plan B. The water is self-serve. The atmosphere feels a bit lonely now that Setagaya is gone. I ordered the summer cold ramen for 1,100 yen. It looks perfect for summer. The overall view is clear fish broth with summer vegetables and bacon. It looks delicious. The cold fish broth clings well to the thin noodles, creating a delicious taste. The glutamic acid from the tomatoes enhances the flavor. The crunchy vegetables add a nice texture. Eating the bacon together makes the flavor explode. It was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. When I finished, there was some leftover broth with dried scallops. The cold fish broth with scallops was quite tasty. However, the restaurant was empty. As I left, I noticed that another restaurant I used to frequent, Wadining Kiyonai, was also gone. Perhaps it is the lingering impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the expiration of subsidies that are slowly squeezing eateries now.

I went to "Hirugaoya," a speciality salt ramen restaurant located on the 9th floor of Edion Namba in Osaka, Osaka City, for the first time in a while. The first ramen of 2023 is from this restaurant. There was a big event on New Year's Day this year. Who knows what will happen this year. (^◇^;) Anyway, despite the big event, I went to Ramen Ichiza in Namba Edion to find a ramen shop on New Year's Day, just like last year. As a lone wolf who doesn't interact with the shops like the regulars, I have no information on which shops are open from New Year's Day. (^◇^;) In such cases, I rely on Ramen Ichiza. (laughs) This shop is a salt ramen brand shop from "Setagaya," which provided me with delicious tsukemen with my favorite "Kanto flavor" last time. If soy sauce is the night face, then salt ramen may be the daytime face? Well, now that you mention it, salt ramen does seem to have a sunlight color. (laughs) There are various menu items, but this year, I think I'll stick to the standard route and avoid going for the curveball. I feel like aiming for a curveball will lead to an "accident." (laughs) So, today I ordered the following: Salt Ramen Regular Size - 1,170 yen It's a popular standard menu item located at the top left of the ticket machine. Oh, by the way, I entered the shop as usual through the pole. After sitting down, the food was served shortly after. It's called the regular size, but in terms of content, it's more like a special size. It's filled with boiled eggs, chashu, wontons, and more. It feels like a slightly luxurious salt ramen. As I tasted it... Oh! It's the "Kanto flavor" again. A slightly oily and rich taste that dispels the light image of salt ramen. Well, a transparent and clear taste of salt ramen may be the essence of salt ramen, but let's go for a strong flavor, let's go for it! (laughs) Well, more like a deep flavor that hits you. I wanted to eat ramen for my last dining out of 2022, so I went to a ramen shop that I had never been to before, located on the 9th floor of Edion in Namba. I arrived just before noon and luckily got the last seat as people started lining up behind me. I ordered the Creamy White Broth Salted Egg Ramen and Charred Chashu Plate. The soup was a light chicken white broth with a hint of seafood flavor, which I liked. The ramen had chashu, flavored egg, shrimp, menma, aosa, and green onions. The egg was beautifully colored and the chashu was delicious. I was very satisfied with my meal! Ramen is definitely the best for cold winters (even though the restaurant was warm inside). They provide paper aprons and hair ties upon request, so be sure to ask if you need them. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Hello. This is Shunmama. For lunch on October 14th, I had to prepare for an event at work, so I went shopping at Takashimaya with T-chan. When we arrived at Namba Station, we decided to have lunch at Edion Namba Store on the 9th floor. Since both of us love ramen, we ended up at "Namba Ramen Ichiza." T-chan said she wanted salt ramen, so we went to "Shio Ramen Senmon Hirugao" next to Wami. It had been a while since the last time I had their ramen. I ordered the "Shio Ramen Hirugao Special" for 1150 yen. The ramen arrived quickly and it was delicious! The broth was a combination of chicken and seafood flavors, with a good balance of various ingredients. The noodles were chewy and absorbed the soup well. The perfectly cooked half-boiled egg, tender wonton, and flavorful chashu made the ramen very satisfying. By the time we finished everything, we were both very full and satisfied. It was a great meal. After the event ended, I had a late lunch and of course had ramen (*・ω・). I tried the Spicy Hormone Ramen, which wasn't as spicy as it looked. It had hormone in it, but it wasn't too oily and was easy to eat with a light taste. On the 9th floor of the electronics retailer Edion, there is a "Ramen Street" called "Ra-men Ichiza" with 9 ramen shops lined up. The pioneers of two different types of ramen, Setagaya and Hirugao, are located separately (next to each other), and you can enjoy either of them day and night only in this area. This area operates on a cash-only, prepaid food ticket system. On a Saturday at 7 pm after shopping, I visited with 2 people at the request of my companion. There were 7 customers already there, and during our 30-minute stay, 9 more customers arrived. The turnover was quite fast. [What we ordered] - Salt tsukemen from Hirugao, serving size 1,200 yen (for me) - Cold ramen for 900 yen - Hirugao-style oyakodon for 400 yen - Black pork soup gyoza for 450 yen The rice dish was served in 5 minutes, followed by the gyoza, then the cold ramen 2 minutes later, and finally the tsukemen 2 minutes after that. The rice dish should have been ready quickly... Personally, I liked the last dish! Regaining my composure, I tried the tsukemen. It had a soup made from chicken broth and seafood. Dried scallops were prominent, and there were plenty of shredded scallops at the bottom. The noodles were flat and had a fettuccine-like texture, not really sticking to the soup but chewy and enjoyable to eat. The chashu, menma, and shrimp wonton were plentiful and satisfying when eaten together. However, it was a bit too salty... The saltiness lingered on my tongue for 4-5 hours. I also tried the cold ramen, which had thin noodles with a sharpness to them and a well-mixed mild saltiness in the soup. The chicken broth was noticeable, and the finely chopped condiments added a nice touch. Compared to the surrounding shops, this place seemed to have more families and children. They had child-friendly chairs and tableware, which may be why. It would be appreciated if they had a bit more service, such as providing wet wipes, paper aprons, or complimentary soup, for example. However, all three staff members were friendly. It was like having ramen after a day at the beach... a salty ramen with a seaside vibe. It would go well with alcohol. Thank you for the meal.

I tried the ramen with hormone at Hirugao in Namba Ramen Ichiza on the 9th floor of Namba Edion. The hormone added a nice flavor to the ramen, but it wasn't as strong as I expected. The broth was decent, not too spicy despite its red appearance. However, I felt that the noodles and broth didn't quite match well. I think curly noodles would have been better for soaking up the flavors.

We came here following the recommendation of the new menu item, Hormone Ramen. I also heard that the curry, available only during lunchtime, is delicious so we ordered that as well. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats, and operates on a ticket system. The Hormone Ramen arrived - the soup was bright red and filled with plenty of hormone meat. Is it really worth 930 yen for this? The flavor had a strong garlic taste and the hormone meat melted in your mouth (you can choose the amount of garlic yourself). However, the soup lacked depth. Now, onto the lunch-only curry - it tasted like a slightly improved version of retort curry (sorry). I had high expectations due to hearing it was delicious, but for only 150 yen, it's incredibly cheap so if you want to eat until you're full, definitely give it a try.

I made a simple dinner after returning home, so I chose something with few toppings. The chashu looked small, but it was actually thick and delicious. The aroma of aosa (seaweed) went well with the soup. The ramen alley at Edion was empty around 4pm on weekdays, and it was hard to tell which shop was popular based on the number of people. Salt ramen for 830 yen.

There are 9 different shops, so it took me a while to decide, but I was in the mood for something light, so I chose "Hirugao" for my first visit. I avoided the peak hours, so I didn't have to wait long to be seated. I quickly purchased the "Salt Ramen" from the ticket machine and waited for about 10 minutes before it arrived. The soup had a gentle aroma of chicken bones, shellfish, and dried bonito, and it was delicious with a good umami flavor. The seaweed also added a nice touch. The homemade medium-thin straight noodles were smooth and had a good firmness, complementing the soup well. The pork shoulder loin chashu had a nice texture and umami flavor, making it delicious. I have been eating salt ramen quite often lately, and I am starting to understand that each salt ramen has its own unique characteristics.

This shop is a separate brand from "Setagaya" in Tokyo and focuses on salt ramen. I purchased a meal ticket from the vending machine and ordered their signature salt ramen, Hirugao Mori. I had lunch at Edion's Ramen Street. I had the Higashioka Salt Ramen for 830 yen during the weekday lunch time from 11am to 5pm. I also tried the Higashioka-style curry for 150 yen. The total came to 980 yen. I wanted to keep my lunch under 1000 yen. It was delicious. The curry was decent as well. Thank you for the meal.

I thought about trying a new local ramen shop in Osaka, but due to the current situation with the coronavirus, it's not possible to travel to places like Tokyo to eat ramen. So, this time I decided to try a Tokyo ramen shop that has a branch in Osaka. I went to Hirugao at Namba EDITION Namba Honten on the 9th floor of Namba Ramen Ichiza. It seems to be a salt ramen specialty shop from a Tokyo ramen restaurant called Seta-gaya. This time, I ordered the Salt Tamara Ramen. It had a simple composition with one egg and one slice of chashu. The soup was light with a salt flavor, and it seemed gentle on the stomach after drinking it. However, those who are used to the rich soups of places like Ryukishin or Shiomonsui might find it a bit lacking. This time I tried the salt ramen, but they also have soy sauce ramen and white broth ramen, so I think I'll try those next time.
