I stayed near Tennoji Station on a business trip in Osaka. Tomorrow morning, I will be taking the Shinkansen back home... so tonight is an important night. The heat is still intense, with temperatures exceeding 35°C. I decided to search for a restaurant while requesting a certain ingredient. I walked around the back streets of Tennoji and the area around Abeno Harukas, and chose the izakaya specializing in kushikatsu called "Kame-chan Tennoji Store". This restaurant, with its catchy name and slightly flashy exterior, seemed welcoming to an outsider like me. The inside of the restaurant was quite busy, but there was space at the counter, so I easily found a seat for myself. I ordered two drinks, lemon sour and yuzu sour, to start with. I ordered the potato salad first, which was served on a bed of mizuna with a soft potato salad on top, topped with a warm egg. It may be a bit much for one person, so it's better to share with 2-3 people. I also ordered the "Senshuu Mizunasu Nasu", a dish I had been wanting to try in Osaka during the summer. It was slices of raw eggplant topped with bonito flakes, soy sauce dressing, and grated ginger. It was sweet and refreshing, almost like a fruit. I wanted to break the whole eggplant with my hands and eat it, but maybe next time. Then, I had the kushikatsu. The first set of 5 included beef, pork tenderloin, squid, pickled ginger, and cherry tomato. The second set of 3 included young corn, lotus root, and conger eel. I felt a bit full after finishing the meal without ordering more kushikatsu. I wanted to order 2-3 more skewers without the potato salad. The total cost was around 3,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I decided with my low-carb diet friends based on cost performance and menu! The food and drinks were served quickly and the service was pretty good (^ ^) I don't think I'll challenge the mega portion, but it's a good place for a casual drink♪♪

Long stay~Tennoji series. In the end, I walked from Nagai to Showa-cho, but Ramenya Ayaya was full, so I continued walking to Tennoji. From Nagai to Tennoji. It's quite a walk, haha. Anyway, I arrived at Tennoji. There weren't many empty restaurants. It was empty. I went to "Kame-chan Tennoji Store," a typical low-priced kushikatsu restaurant. This time, I ordered a la carte. I ordered some skewers and a drink. There wasn't any standout menu items, and the taste was just average. The service from the staff was so-so. It's okay for the price, I guess... Well, I wouldn't really recommend it that much, to be honest.

I went to Osaka alone to participate in the Osaka Marathon. It's fine to go alone, but it's better to choose a place that is easy to enter. This place has counter seats and a not too bright lighting, making it easy to enter. There were many menu options to choose from, but there was a set menu available. It included doteyaki, edamame, and 9 pieces of kushikatsu. When I placed my order, the doteyaki and edamame arrived quickly, without making me wait. The kushikatsu was not greasy and easy to eat. Double dipping in the sauce was not allowed, so I made sure to coat the kushikatsu well with sauce. I enjoyed eating it while crunching on the cabbage that came on the tray.

I chose this place because it's close to the station and I wanted to have a few drinks before heading home. I started with a cold beer and then ordered a highball for my second drink. However, the glass wasn't chilled so the ice melted quickly and the drink tasted too watery. When I mentioned this to the staff, they kindly topped up my drink. The staff were very friendly and attentive, even when I was leaving. They took my order promptly as I was dining alone. The doteyaki was delicious, especially with their tasty sauce. They offer a variety of skewers too. Overall, it's a great place to have a few drinks and snacks before heading home.

Second stop! \(^ - ^)/ Since I had just eaten, I couldn't eat much... but drinks for 100 yen!! What's going on?! \(^ - ^)/ I was so surprised by how cheap it was... Avocado skewers were a bit unique! I had them. Since it was the second stop, I could only have pickles and potatoes, so I want to go back and have a proper meal next time! \(^ - ^)

I arrived at "Kame-chan Tennoji Store" with friends after a wedding party, but I was so drunk that I can't remember if it was the 4th, 3rd, or 5th party. The place used to be a 100 yen shop, then a barbershop, and even further back, a game center. Now it's a kushikatsu restaurant with a familiar exterior in Shinsekai. The staff inside were tough-looking but stylish, and the food was mediocre. We were a group of about 20 people at the back of the restaurant, but the service was slow. Why did we choose this place? Well, it was a holiday and we couldn't find any other place that could accommodate our group. It happens. Thanks for the meal!

The flashy signboard caught my eye at this kushikatsu restaurant that I had been wanting to visit. Tonight, three of us gathered at Abenobashi. The interior had a casual izakaya atmosphere, making it easy to enter, and the staff were young. It seemed like a good place for university students and young office workers to have a party. The kushikatsu itself was neither good nor bad, with a somewhat hard and unsatisfying coating. The dishes also took a long time to come out. I ended up drinking two draft beers before the first kushikatsu arrived. I had planned to drink heavily, but after just one order, I decided to move on to another bar for more drinks.

I visited the "Kame-chan Tennoji Store" with my friend I from Tokyo for our second stop. It is located a little south of Tennoji. It was during the New Year period, so there was a 10% service charge, but it couldn't be helped. The location is good, close to the station. Today, please also click on the three types of rankings. Here is the menu. It's cheap. It's a typical kushikatsu restaurant where double dipping is not allowed. We ordered some drinks like highball and some food randomly. Highball is delicious, whether it's the first or fifth glass. Cheers. The first dish was tonpei. The amount of egg and pork was good, and the richness was solid. This is delicious. We also had beef, chicken thigh, and quail. We dip them in the sauce on the table. It's cheap but delicious. Beef and chicken thigh are the best for kushikatsu. It's so delicious that I feel like eating a lot if I come here for the first time. Lastly, we had cheese and beef. The cheese was melty and delicious. It was really good. Kushikatsu where double dipping is not allowed is delicious. We only had kushikatsu, but we also had some drinks, and the total bill was ¥6,200, which felt a bit expensive probably due to the New Year charge. It was decent. Thank you for the meal. Total cost for the second stop today (2 people) ¥6,200.

I personally did not feel like the izakaya specializing in kushikatsu was a good match for me. One Sunday afternoon around 4 o'clock, I entered the restaurant and immediately felt uncomfortable. I had come all the way from Kyobashi to Tennoji because there was a yokai exhibition on the 16th floor of Harukas. I wandered through the izakaya district on the north side of the station, but many places were closed during the day. I tried going to Sakaba Ya Katsuotoko, but it was not the right fit for me. Reluctantly, I went to Gusakudon, but the prices were too high. I felt like I had made a mistake, but it was too late to turn back, so I kept walking. I wandered around Matsuzaki-cho hoping to find something, but it seemed like the demand for izakayas in Tennoji during the day was low. Eventually, all the places that seemed suitable were only open from 5 pm onwards, so I had to wander for another hour. Then I came across this restaurant. Since I had been walking with children, I was hoping for a place where we could rest our feet rather than sit at a table. When I asked if we could sit in the lovely tatami room in front of us, the staff said it was "reservation only." The restaurant was empty, and even if there was a reservation, I didn't plan to stay long, but I was turned away, which was disappointing. The restaurant seemed to offer a cheap all-you-can-drink deal, but I thought of going for the half-price drinks until 5 pm as advertised on the sign, only to find out it was a weekday-only service. Another disappointment. I ordered a beer, which was mostly foam, and the beef katsu in the kushikatsu set was over-fried and tasted like charcoal. This was the third disappointment. I still ordered more, and the shrimp and asparagus were delicious, but a lingering sense of disappointment persisted. My kids wanted to sit in the tatami room, and there was an awkward atmosphere when I ordered a second beer. No sign of reserved customers arriving during my entire stay. I wished they had let us sit in the tatami room. I let out a sigh of disappointment for the fourth time. I knew there was a similar restaurant in Kyobashi, but the results seemed to match the reputation. I may have to visit again at some point, but I would prefer to avoid it if possible.

On Friday night, everywhere was fully booked. Managed to get a spot here. We were seated at a table and ordered a highball. We also ordered a variety of skewers - pork, beef, lotus root, shiitake mushrooms, eringi mushrooms, shrimp, cheese, and tomato. The skewers were quite tasty. The breading was thin and crispy, made with fine breadcrumbs. The price was reasonable. The sauce was average, not too sweet, slightly salty. The staff, both in the dining area and kitchen, were all young. The dining staff were all female. We had a seat right next to the kitchen, so we could see the food being prepared, which made us a bit concerned about the cleanliness.

I visited this restaurant after watching a movie at Apollo Cinema. It is conveniently located near the station and is a street-level shop. I chose the option with all-you-can-drink for 1058 yen, which includes Kinmugi beer and chu-hai. The staff, who were all young, were quick and friendly, making the drinking experience enjoyable. However, I rated it 2.5 because even though it is a kushikatsu restaurant, the skewers were small in size. Some skewers, like the wiener, only had one piece on them. Despite the good taste of the freshly fried skewers, this was disappointing. One thing that impressed me about this place was the clear billing system. The receipt not only shows the total amount but also lists the items ordered and their quantities in detail, which made me feel at ease while dining. If the skewers were a bit larger, I would consider revisiting this place.

Happy New Year. This year as well, I hope for your continued support. I spent my New Year's holiday back in Osaka, where my parents live. After getting tired of eating osechi dishes, my family of four decided to stroll around Abeno. We were looking for a restaurant where we could walk in without waiting, and we stumbled upon this place. It's a restaurant that used to be a kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) spot famous for the "No double dipping" rule, but now it has transformed into an izakaya. When I was a child, my dad used to take me to kushikatsu restaurants in Shinsekai quite often. Back then, those kushikatsu places were full of blue-collar workers drinking sake and venting about their day, which was a bit intimidating for a kid like me. However, with the kushikatsu boom, the kushikatsu spots in Shinsekai have become more stylish and less intimidating, making it easier for families and young women to enjoy kushikatsu. This restaurant is a perfect example of that transformation. We ordered the Tsutenkaku Set and the Osaka Castle Set, which came with a total of 25 pieces of kushikatsu. The taste was quite ordinary. The sauce with the "No double dipping" rule had a nice balance of flavors, not too light or too strong. Unlike traditional kushikatsu restaurants with narrow counters and small tables, this place had a more spacious and comfortable seating arrangement, similar to a popular izakaya chain. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience to enjoy kushikatsu here. We ordered two additional dishes and some drinks, and the total bill for our family of four was around 8,000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I found this place while strolling around Tennoji. It's a kushikatsu restaurant where you can't dip the skewers twice. I didn't go there often because it seemed like a place for older men to relax, but this place has a casual atmosphere that is welcoming to people of all ages and genders, making it easy for women to visit as well. My friend and I ordered the Tennoji set for 1944 yen, which came with an additional 12 skewers and three drinks. The set also included doteyaki, which was different from the usual white miso version as it had a miso flavor. It was delicious. (^^)v
