2014.6 Revisited after a long time and found various minor changes. A new menu item "Half-fried noodles" has been introduced. I tried the "Golden Pork Ball" collaboration with a famous brand of pork from all over the country. It's called "Wanokaton'ya Sohachi". Of course, I couldn't tell the difference in taste between the pork belly with plenty of okonomiyaki sauce and the half-fried noodles pork. Well, it was delicious. That's all.
2013.2 Revisited Seibu Takatsuki for shopping. Too lazy to go outside, so we had lunch at the 6th-floor restaurant area. Wanted to try something new, but my wife wanted okonomiyaki. Ordered pork yakisoba, negiyaki, and teppan gyoza. Since we have a child, the dishes arrived without the teppan. The waitress drew a picture with mayonnaise for the child, which turned out a bit awkward, but our child was excited. The taste was satisfying, but recently, the shapes of the okonomiyaki and negiyaki seem a bit clumsy. The distribution of ingredients within a single piece also seemed uneven. With a 10% off coupon from Gurunavi.
2012.7 Revisited, ordered the Soba Meshi (thinly flavored) for 930 yen. The potatoes in it were hard, almost raw. The rice was poorly distributed, with a lump of white rice the size of a rice ball inside. Visited with my wife and child at 11:30 on July 1st. You can understand. The person who made it should reflect on it. Otherwise, everything was normal as before.
2012.6 Revisited with my child now standing, and avoided teppan hotplate restaurants. Came here with the teppan off option. Ordered pork ball, soba meshi, and draft beer. Requested half the sauce on the pork ball and a lighter flavor on the soba meshi, which they happily accommodated. Thanks to that, the child also had a nicely seasoned meal. Adults adjusted the flavor with the table sauce. Even with the teppan off, the food stayed warm, making it easy for families with children.
2011.11 Revisited at 11:30. Seated in the tatami area as usual. It was crowded today, and we had to decide quickly. Ordered Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki (pork), negi shio-dare soba meshi, and pork kimchi. Even though it was lunchtime, we also had beer (laughs). The Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki was delicious, but the soba meshi was a big mistake. While other okonomiyaki and yakisoba menus listed the ingredients (pork, tendon, sakura shrimp, etc.), the soba meshi we ordered this time had no detailed description on the menu. I cannot eat shrimp due to allergies, but it was filled with sakura shrimp. I had to painstakingly remove each shrimp with chopsticks so my wife could eat it.
Original (2011.8) Located in the Seibu Takatsuki restaurant floor. You may need to wait during lunchtime. We were with a baby, so we went early at 11:30 and got in smoothly. Seibu Takatsuki has a good selection of baby products (mainly Akachan Honpo), so I think the restaurant floor is also well-equipped for babies. The restaurant has table seats and tatami seats. This time we went for tatami with the folded baby stroller. Our infant (7 months old) likes to roll around. Checking the website, it seems that the table seats can also accommodate a baby stroller (by removing one seat). My wife and I shared the pork ball, negi salt yakisoba, and tonpei. I had a beer on the side, and it was delicious. By the way, the "Modern Yaki" here is different from other stores, so be careful. It wraps the yakisoba in a fluffy dough. If you think of it as an omelet with a lot of yakisoba inside, you might get the idea. I made a mistake once by ordering the Modern Yaki without knowing and sharing it with the yakisoba, which was a nightmare (laughs). The prices are a bit higher in famous chain stores, with most okonomiyaki dishes costing over 1000 yen. The CP might be a bit low in that regard...
