If you want to buy a shortcake at Ginza Mitsukoshi's B2 Sweets Street, this is probably the cheapest option. The shop's main specialty is fruit, located on B3. The simple sweetness of the cream and sponge gives an elegant feel reminiscent of hotel cakes. It goes well with plenty of fruit. Depending on the season, the cake may have a mix of fruits or change to seasonal fruits like strawberries or grapes, which is characteristic of a fruit shop's sweets. I feel like I've been buying cakes here a lot lately.

I've been really into pineapples lately as a dessert. I usually have pineapple for breakfast for a vitamin boost. And even for a late dinner at home, I go for pineapple. I'm not really health-conscious, but my stomach, you know. This day, after feeling exhausted from eating out a lot, I decided to buy some pineapple. Unlike cakes where they charge for a fork, fruits come with it for free. I opened it and the pineapple aroma was more intense than usual, incredibly juicy, sweet, and delicious. It costs around 450 yen, so it's more satisfying than eating a mediocre cake. And it's healthier than other desserts. It has become a regular part of my evening snack routine.

I love the fruit sandwiches from San Fruits. When you take off the cellophane, the fruity aroma hits you and gets you excited even before you take a bite. The fruit sandwiches from the fruit shop always have delicious fruits in them. It's fun to enjoy fruits that are in season. I have tried fruit sandwiches from other shops like Shine Muscat, Strawberry, Orange, Kiwi mix sandwich, Fig sandwich, Strawberry sandwich, White Strawberry sandwich, etc., but the fruit sandwiches from San Fruits are the best. You can buy them anytime without having to wait in line, the price is just right, the portion size is perfect for me, and they are rarely sold out. The staff is also very friendly. The Golden Pine at Mitsukoshi is always crowded. There are more juice options on B1, but it's overwhelming and crowded. It's better to go to the fruit section on B2 for juice. I chose the refreshing pineapple over strawberry. When I ordered, they mixed in ice and stirred it up. The rich sweetness was refreshing and delicious. Even if you don't like the taste of pineapple, you might still enjoy this. I used to dislike pineapple until I became an adult. I didn't like that stringy texture. But now that I can choose what tastes good to me, I love it. Yes, it was delicious.

There is a high-end fruit shop in the food floor of Mitsukoshi underground. Even in this season, there are still quite a few people in Mitsukoshi Ginza. It is truly a landmark, and if this place is empty, I would think Ginza is finished. When entering from the underground entrance, there is an escalator on the left side leading to the food floor, so head there without hesitation. The fragrant smell of bread wafts through the air. It is routine to turn left first to check out the seasonal shops. Passing through the maze of Japanese and Western sweets, continue to the deli section, and then take the escalator down further. The lowest floor of Mitsukoshi is the food ingredient floor, where alcohol, rice, fruits, fish, meat, and vegetables are sold. Personally, this is my favorite floor now. The vivid colors of the tropical fruits catch the eye first. Seasonal fruits are lined up neatly, triggering the urge to purchase with their carefully calculated display. Figs look good too... peaches as well. But this time, let's go with a fruit sandwich. Personally, I like the fruit brioche from the Westin Hotel in Ebisu the most, but recently, the quality of fruit sandwich shops has been increasing due to inflation. The fruit sandwich here at Sun Fruits may be slightly more expensive compared to other shops, but they use good large cuts of fruit, so in a sense, it's worth the cost. Hmm... delicious. Why is a fruit sandwich so delicious? The fruit, whipped cream, and the exquisite texture of the bread... everything is in harmony.

Head to San Fruits in the basement of Ginza Mitsukoshi. This fruit shop specializes in selling high-end fruits and uses these premium ingredients to create juices, jellies, and fruit sandwiches. Their fruit jellies, such as grapefruit for 756 yen and lemon for 378 yen, are made by hollowing out the fruit, using the extracted juice to make the jelly, and filling it back into the fruit peel. These fruit sweets truly showcase the natural flavors of the fruits. The fruit sandwiches, priced at 1,080 yen, are also popular and feature generous amounts of cream and juicy fruits. The seasonal fruit sandwich and the classic mixed sandwich are both available. Each dessert is about one size smaller than other stores, making it easier to decide. I bought a Colorful Shortcake (540 yen) and a Pudding a la Mode (540 yen). The fruits like muscat grapes, melon, strawberries, oranges, and blueberries are all juicy and sweet. The shortcake's sponge is fluffy and light, complementing the sweetness of the cream, making it irresistible for those with a sweet tooth.

I used to frequently repeat orders of the Sakura Bavarois and Fig Bavarois, but I had stayed away since the Fig Bavarois took a turn for the worse in July of the 29th year of Heisei. However, I occasionally peeked in afterwards. This time, the Peach Bavarois and Peach Almond Jelly caught my eye, and after some hesitation, I decided to purchase the Peach Almond Jelly. Peach Almond Jelly: 540 yen Looking back at past records, a year ago I had commented, "The almond jelly is delicious, and the peach is tasty, but their harmony is lacking." Mitsukoshi department store is bustling again today. Because I feel like I'm losing nutrients due to the heat, I went to get a nutrient boost. I wanted something refreshing to drink, but all they had were creamy drinks like strawberry milk and banana milk. I wish there were more options with a tart or sour flavor. I ended up getting a berry juice. It feels like it's good for my eyes.

The juice stand inside the department store is quite affordable, with juices priced at 550 yen. They pour the juice from a pot rather than making it on the spot. The strawberry juice costs 450 yen, while the high-sugar white strawberry juice costs 550 yen. I ordered the white strawberry juice, but it was quite sour. It wasn't too thick, so it was easy to drink and didn't completely quench my thirst, but it wasn't too drying either. It's a good option for when you're a little thirsty and want something slightly refreshing at a regular juice stand.

In January 2020, I cheered along the Hakone Ekiden return route after lunch. After witnessing the athletes' strong performance, I moved to Ginza. I bought some snacks to enjoy during the Kabuki performance. Feeling thirsty, I decided to have a fresh juice here. The cold strawberry juice quenched my thirst perfectly.

However, the Fig Bavarois, which was a gem in July of the 29th year of Heisei, sadly transformed and I had been staying away since then. The other day, after two years, I decided to visit the shop again... The Cup Fruit (Fig) was not bad, but it couldn't compare to the former Fig Bavarois. This time, they had Fig Bavarois available, so I bought it without hesitation. The Fig Bavarois consists of a milky Bavarois at the bottom, jelly in the middle, and fig on top. The harmonious combination of the three delicious layers is still wonderful! The fig itself is ripe and delicious, making the revival satisfying. Overall rating 3.9, taste 4.3 ← 3.5, cost performance 3.6 ← 3.4.

After having lunch with my family in Shin-Okubo, we planned to have dinner in the Ginza area. However, it started raining, so we took shelter in Mitsukoshi department store. While wandering around, my child spotted a juice stand in the basement. There are always juice stands in department store basements, it seems! Besides juice, they also sold soft serve ice cream and cut fruits. My daughter wanted juice, so we bought a banana milk juice for 324 yen. I tried a little sip and it had a strong banana flavor with natural sweetness. It was delicious!

As the weather gets warmer and I wanted to replenish my enzymes and vitamins, I started drinking fresh juice again. After taking my mother, who was visiting from my hometown, to the last public opening of the Imperial Palace in the Heisei era, we parted ways and I felt like having a drink in Ginza to finish off my day. I was considering tapioca, but ended up at this place in the basement of Ginza Mitsukoshi, right next to the restroom on the same floor. I was in the mood for something green, but they didn't have any options like that, so I went with the Berry Mix. There were about five chairs right next to me, but they were all occupied, so I found a round stool near the escalator and managed to sit down. The Berry Mix was delicious and reasonably priced, just under 500 yen for a department store. They also sell soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurt, which I might try next time.

Sakura Bavarois ¥540 We trapped fully bloomed cherry blossoms in a dome-shaped sakura jelly, placed on top of milk-flavored bavarois. Among the sakura jellies I've tried, Sun Fruits' quality is high. The milk-flavored bavarois has a smooth texture, with a gentle milk flavor that is not overpowering, but has a mild sweetness that spreads nicely. It has a simple taste, comforting and not lacking in richness. The dome-shaped sakura jelly has a strong sakura flavor, slightly sour which was surprising, but otherwise good. It would be even better with a bit more saltiness. The small jelly balls were a bit artificial, almost like slime. There aren't many things you can eat with sakura, but if they come out with something else, I would buy it again.

Sakura Jelly ¥486 This dessert features a sakura-flavored jelly with fully bloomed cherry blossoms, creating a graceful and spring-like dessert. The top layer of jelly is firm and bouncy, with a strong fruity taste that seems to come from strawberry juice. While the fruit flavor is prominent, it's not exactly strawberry or cherry, but rather a distinct sakura taste that doesn't feel artificial. The layer beneath is a pink-colored jelly, where the sakura flavor seems to be less pronounced compared to the top layer. Personally, I would have preferred a bit more saltiness to bring out the sakura flavor. Overall, considering it comes with a container, the price at the department store feels like a good deal.

I, who dislikes fruits, received a Golden Pine juice that I love. It cost 440 yen. It was very cold and gave me a headache, so it took me a while to finish drinking it.
