"I had been hearing for a while now that 'When it comes to yakitori in Shin-Osaka, there's only one place to go!' and finally, I was able to visit this place. I had bookmarked it for some time after hearing from an acquaintance that this place was delicious. ----- [Location, Interior] ----- It is located in the west area of Shin-Osaka Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line. Upon entering the restaurant, a long and narrow space opens up towards the back. This time, I visited with two junior colleagues after work. As we sat down, I was contemplating what to order when suddenly, the staff said, 'We will bring you some recommended items, just let us know when you want us to stop.' What? The menu didn't mention anything like that, and I didn't recall seeing such a review. I was taken aback and didn't know how to respond. 'If there's anything you don't like, please tell us,' they said. I didn't have a plan to visit with such intentions, so I was caught off guard and just said, 'No, nothing in particular.' My two colleagues also responded the same way (laughs). The first thing that came out was a plate full of cabbage! It had a generous amount and was topped with a slightly tangy sauce, perfect for hearty eating. But what surprised me was that the staff would place grilled skewers on the empty spots on the cabbage plate. What? I silently exclaimed in my mind (laughs). The first skewer that came out was beef. Beef? That was unexpected. It had a meaty flavor and the tenderness of lean meat, quite delicious. Next came the 'Sweet Shrimp with Mayonnaise.' (I didn't take a photo, sorry!) Again, after beef, seafood... and with mayonnaise! Maximum surprise (laughs). The sweet shrimp had a slightly rare texture and tasted delicious, with the mayonnaise adding an accent. But, there are always things you feel like eating and things you don't feel like eating, and it was a bit hard to express, but I found myself not wholeheartedly enjoying it. Subsequently, we also had quail eggs and chicken breast with plum. In total, we had about five skewers. Other items we shared among the three of us were 'Chanja Roll (Korean-style)' and 'Tamago Kake Gohan.' The Chanja Roll had a good kick of spiciness and was satisfying to eat. I personally like this kind of hand-rolled food that you can enjoy as a finishing touch. The taste of all the dishes was satisfactory, but I don't know why... after a long day of work, I just wanted to eat something I liked, so I felt a bit conflicted. Looking around the restaurant, it seemed like there were many regular customers. I hope to become a regular here and learn to enjoy the unique characteristics of this place and savor them. *********************** Solo Female Friendly: ♥♥♥♡♡ Would Visit Again: ★★★☆☆ ***********************"

When it comes to drinking around Shin-Osaka Station, there are many chain restaurants, but this place, despite having "Shin-Osaka branch" in its name, is a cozy, homey izakaya that feels like a personal establishment. The interior has only a counter and many regular customers. You can order skewers a la carte or as part of a course, with the course option offering all-you-can-eat cabbage with garlic sauce. While waiting for the skewers, you can enjoy some chicken liver sashimi, which is small in portion. The skewers mainly feature chicken, with a personal favorite being the pork wrapped in shiso leaves. When you bite into the shiso, the fat oozes out of the meat, creating a perfect match with the shiso's aroma. Women may also like the plump shrimp mayo skewer. Overall, the portions are on the smaller side, making this more of a place for drinking than dining. To finish, they serve a special egg over rice and miso soup. The miso soup is hearty with plenty of ingredients, providing a comforting end to the meal. This is a rare, cozy izakaya in Shin-Osaka.

I visit this place repeatedly. If I visit too often, my reviews will be delayed, which is my usual pattern ( ̄▽ ̄;) "Hello!" The friendly owner with a great personality always greets me warmly. This restaurant, with its long counter, specializes in grilled skewers. The menu includes individual items as well as several course options: - Appetizer Course (recommended by the owner, 5 skewers) 900 yen - 8 Skewers Course (recommended by the owner, 8 skewers) 1,900 yen - 11 Skewers Course (8 Skewers Course + wagyu harami skewer, etc.) 2,700 yen - Ladies Course (8 Skewers Course + dessert + special egg over rice) 2,300 yen - Chef's Choice Course I always go for the "Chef's Choice Course." The owner keeps serving recommended skewers until I say stop (´ω`) The cabbage, said to be the best in Japan, is generously topped with a secret ponzu-based sauce. Some customers even ask for seconds due to its incredible taste. Indeed, this cabbage is crunchy, sweet, and delicious (*´ω`) The skewers, carefully grilled over charcoal, are placed on top of this cabbage one by one. The grilling is superb. Every skewer is incredibly tasty (^。^) The local sake selected by the owner is also delicious. I often forget to say "stop" as I get carried away in the endless loop of skewers and sake (≧▽≦) By the way, they sometimes have raw liver of morning-grilled local chicken. If available, it's a must-try (^。^) I will continue to visit this place. Thank you for the delicious meals as always.

I thought this shop had been around since I was a child, and it turns out it opened in 1991 and has been operating in the local area for 22 years. It's located about a 10-minute walk from both Shin-Osaka Station and Higashi-Mikuni Station. In front of the shop, there is a pachinko parlor called Kikona Shin-Osaka store, and next to it is a seafood shop called Gyokusui known for its affordable prices. Inside the shop, there is a long counter seat that extends deep into the back, but I didn't get to see what was further back. I visited on a Friday and tried to make a reservation, but the place was packed! Completely full!! A local lady who hadn't been there in 2-3 years visited, and as soon as she opened the door, the owner said, "Long time no see." The owner has an incredible memory!! He remembers the seating arrangements and conversations from 2-3 years ago. He even remembers the drink preferences of other long-time customers. It's amazing!! He greets everyone who comes in, showing what a great personality he has, which is probably why the shop has been in business for so long. The menu includes: - Snack course 900 yen (5 recommended skewers by the owner) - 8-piece course 1,900 yen *All-you-can-eat cabbage included (Recommended 8 skewers such as shiso rolls, juicy shrimp mayo, etc.) - 11-piece course 2,700 yen *All-you-can-eat cabbage included (8-piece course + wagyu harami, etc.) - Ladies course *All-you-can-eat cabbage included, female only 2,300 yen (8-piece course + special egg over rice + dessert) - Chef's choice course *All-you-can-eat cabbage included, the basic style of the shop! (Enjoy the owner's recommended skewers until you're full, then stop!) Of course, you can also order individual items. First, a large plate of cabbage is served, one per person. Skewers are placed on top of this cabbage as they come out of the kitchen. We ordered the Chef's choice course and ate quite a lot... The owner even asked us who ate the most among today's customers. We finished with the egg over rice for dessert. I thought this place was similar to Kushiage Wakisaka, but it turns out the owner here is the brother of the owner there. Next time I go, the owner will surely remember me, right? Looking forward to it.

Located between Shin-Osaka Station and Higashi-Mikuni Station is a yakitori restaurant that has been in business for a long time, since 1991. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with only counter seats, and the master chef is the one cooking the skewers. They offer various course menus, including a recommended appetizer course for 900 yen, an 8-skewer course for 1,900 yen, an 11-skewer course for 2,700 yen, a ladies' course for 2,300 yen, and an omakase course. In addition to the course menus, they also offer a variety of individual skewers such as chicken liver sashimi, special egg over rice, Hokkaido scallops with butter, soft bone, and bonjiri. The skewers are cooked in front of you, and the chef is skilled and efficient, making the dining experience enjoyable. The restaurant also serves a generous portion of cabbage with their special sauce as a starter. The egg over rice is a popular menu item at both this restaurant and its sister restaurant, Wakisaka, which is a tempura and kushikatsu restaurant near Hankyu Mikuni Station. The restaurant is open from 5:00 pm to midnight and is closed on irregular days.

I used to love this restaurant since it was in Nishinaka, so I used to visit frequently. But at some point, it closed down, which was disappointing. However, I happened to come across it on Tabelog and decided to call and confirm. I asked if it was the same as the one in Nishinaka, and indeed it was. I never expected it to be the same as the one in Honmachi in Teritory. I remembered the taste from my younger days, and since I used to visit frequently, I was sure it was the right place. It was surprising to find it located in an unexpected place like this from Higashi-Mikuni. When I entered the restaurant, I found that it only had a long counter. The style was the same as before, with the cabbage and skewers placed in front of you. The cabbage tasted good, but I felt the sauce could be a bit less. The skewers were delicious, with each piece of meat or ingredient being small. I decided to stop after eating enough with the omakase set and drinking beer while waiting for more skewers. However, they took a long time to arrive, so I ended up leaving around the 5th or 6th skewer. It was disappointing that the service was slow, and I ended up drinking more than eating while waiting. Overall, the value for money was not great, and the nostalgic feeling I had from the past was different now that I am older. I do not plan on returning.

Night in Shin-Osaka. There aren't many shops here. I used the map from the hotel to find nearby shops. There was a shop called "Issaku," but it looked like a slightly high-end Japanese restaurant, so I passed on it. "Kushiyaki" seems more down-to-earth, right? Nice looking noren, "Hagi," is it? Oh, it's "Teki," right. The inside of the shop is just a long counter. It's like a bed for eels. I took a seat at the far end of the counter. Looking at the menu, the skewers were around 200 yen each, a bit on the expensive side. I had beer on the train, so I decided to go for shochu right away. The menu had makgeolli, so I ordered that. The older sister is pouring it from a 1.8-liter bottle. Cloudy makgeolli. I like the sweet and sour taste. A mountain of shredded cabbage came out as a complimentary dish. It's topped with a special sauce. They said it's all-you-can-eat. Now, what should I order? The older sister suggested leaving it to them, so I went with that. The name of the shop, "Teki," is an unusual name. When I mentioned, "It's the 'Teki' of barbarians," T-san unexpectedly showed off his knowledge. Yes, that's right. But I'm not sure how that relates to skewers. First, the black wagyu harami and quail eggs arrived. The skewers are placed on a mountain of cabbage. This way of serving is new to me. Maybe to avoid dirtying the plates? It's better than having a table full of dishes. The black wagyu harami is bound to be delicious. And at 300 yen, the price is good too. It's delicious with the sauce. In terms of taste, it's a good shop. I ordered raw liver (650 yen). It's raw Kagoshima beef liver with salt on it. It's delicious! We shared it among three people, so it wasn't enough. I wanted more. Seseri. What's that? I was told it's the best part of the chicken neck. Let's add some red pepper. The ichimi red pepper is in a pot. Sprinkle plenty on and enjoy. Since makgeolli has a low alcohol content and is easy to drink, it was finished quickly. Maybe I'll go for shochu after all. I tried the matsutake. It's shochu from Matsutake Shuzo in Kurama, Miyazaki Prefecture. It's become more common recently, but it used to be a shochu for local consumption only. Sunaguri and ginkgo nuts. Sunaguri has a nice crunchy texture. And the mellow ginkgo nuts. Tsukune. It comes with grated daikon. We took a little break from the skewers here. We resumed the skewers with nankotsu tare. It's the soft part of the sternum shaped like a boat with a Y-shape. It's called "yagen" because it looks like a tool for grinding Chinese herbal medicine. Shishito. Shishito on the tare grilled with dancing bonito flakes on top. The final touch was what I was curious about. "Special Egg Rice Bowl" for 400 yen. Only the orange yolk is on top of the rice. Pour dashi soy sauce over it and enjoy. Delicious. I refrained due to my concern about metabolic syndrome. (Tears) It also comes with pickled radish and kombu tsukudani. The skewers were delicious. With the drink included, it was just under 5000 yen per person. A bit on the pricey side. Thank you for the meal.

Visited the restaurant with my wife. It was not a typical kushikatsu place, but a restaurant specializing in "yakitori". There were only counter seats, no tatami rooms. We decided to try the omakase course with 8 dishes after looking at the menu displayed outside. We sat at the counter and ordered beer. As we were contemplating what to order, the staff suggested, "Would you like us to recommend dishes for you? Just let us know when you want us to stop." We started with some cabbage, which was served in generous portions even though we only ordered one plate each. The sauce was delicious but a bit too strong. Next, we had beef harami cooked to perfection, topped with fried garlic which added a nice touch. However, it was a bit pricey at 350 yen. We also enjoyed dishes like chicken, salmon, shiitake mushrooms, and quail, all of which were delicious but came at a significant cost. We switched from beer to sake, and were impressed by the variety of unique options available. Overall, the food was much tastier than we anticipated based on the restaurant's appearance, but it ended up being more expensive than we had budgeted for. Delicious, though.

This is a restaurant that my boss took me to before. It's a yakitori restaurant in Shin-Osaka or Higashi-Mikuni, I think. The name is Teki-san. I'm not familiar with those characters (laughs). We sat at the counter and had the omakase course. First, a large plate of cabbage comes out. I thought it was a service, but they put the yakitori on top of the cabbage. The cabbage has a special sauce on it and it's delicious on its own. Then, a variety of yakitori dishes come out, and they were all delicious! They keep coming until you say stop, but it's hard to stop (laughs). We ended up ordering more because the yakitori was so good, and we ended up really full. But we couldn't leave without trying the tamago kake gohan (egg over rice) at the end! That was delicious too. It was a very satisfying meal. I don't remember the exact location, but I definitely want to go back. Thank you for the meal.
