I visited a restaurant for lunch during my business trip in Sakai, Osaka. The restaurant is located in the bustling downtown area in front of JR Ho Station, with lots of people and cars passing by and narrow streets. When I arrived by car, I saw the letter "P" for parking, so there might be parking available, but I couldn't find a temporary parking spot to confirm, so I had to park at a nearby coin parking lot (200 yen for 30 minutes). The restaurant was full during lunchtime, but I managed to be seated without waiting. The menu seemed to highlight salt ramen, using salt "Nuchimasu" from Okinawa and Miyakojima. So, I ordered a set of salt ramen and one rice ball for 850 yen. The soup was made from chicken and pork, very gentle in flavor. The saltiness was very subtle with no strong punch, but each sip made my taste buds more sensitive. The noodles were thin with a good chewy texture. The toppings included chashu pork, spinach, white negi, seaweed, giving it a homey feel. The chashu pork had a satisfying chewy texture but melted in a contradictory and mysterious way. It was delicious.

Located right next to Otoru Station, Men Master Osaka Ramen Shiojin Otoru Honten is a place I've been curious about for a while, but it was difficult to access by car due to its proximity to the station. The road seemed to have been improved and easier to navigate, so I decided to give it a try. There is a coin parking nearby where you can park for 100 yen for 20 minutes, which is quite reasonable for a location near the station. I tried the Yuzu Kasu Tsukemen for 1030 yen (tax included) with a 100 yen discount coupon from the Tabelog app, making it a nice deal for under 1000 yen. The rich soup made from seafood and pork bones, enhanced with oil residue for added umami and sweetness, and flavored with yuzu and sesame for a fragrant dipping sauce. The medium-thick curly noodles were chewy with a good texture, easily coating and delicious when dipped in the sauce. The chashu was also tender and tasty. Most of all, the presentation was impressive with a visually appealing plating. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Near Ootori station, there is a salt ramen shop. They offer various lunch menus and sets that are very economical. I ordered the salt ramen and onigiri set. Personally, I found it to be light and refreshing, so next time I want to try different toppings like the "te-chan ramen"!

Order ▷ Yuzu Shio Ramen 950 yen ▷ Yuzu-Kasu Gyoza (5 pieces) 390 yen ▷ Matcha Ice Cream ▷ Entered at 6:30 pm ▷ No waiting time ▷ Visited on a weekday. It was my first time trying Yuzu Shio Ramen, which is the most popular ramen on the menu. The soup is like salt ramen, with chewy noodles. It has a light taste that goes really well with the gyoza. The ramen is topped with shrimp, spinach, seaweed, and seasoned egg, making it a very satisfying bowl. I heard the dipping noodles are also a specialty, so I'd like to try them next time! ✌️

I came to enjoy some Instagram-worthy ramen this time, after having warm ramen last time. It was delicious as always! The flavor suits my taste. It was a weekday lunchtime, so I felt like I got a good deal. Thank you for the coupon on Tabelog, it was my first time using a Tabelog coupon! The service was also great.

It was delicious anyway. Although Yuzu Salt Ramen seems to be their specialty, I wanted to try the regular Salt Ramen that day, so I chose that. The noodles and soup were just to my liking and really delicious. I wanted to take the soup home! I also chose the dumplings where you can enjoy various flavors. They were so delicious. The dessert, Kofun-kun Pudding, was amazing. It was so delicious! I will definitely come back again. Maybe next time I will try the Yuzu Salt Ramen.

Located just a 2-minute walk from JR Hanwa Line's "Ho" station in Sakai City, is "Men-sho Osaka Ramen Shiojin Ho Honten" restaurant. As part of the Shiojin Group, they manage a variety of establishments such as "Osaka Ramen Shiojin Ho Honten and Sakai Higashi branch", "Ikeike Sakana-Sakana", "Sumibi-yaki Torishin", "Niku to Sakana to Soup no Bar Hapidon", and recently "Kofun-kun Pudding". Today's order is the unique-looking "Yuzukasu Tsukemen ¥1,030". The visually striking presentation with the bowl turned upside down is quite impressive! The large chashu and white negi are vibrant! The tsukemen soup is a rich fish and tonkotsu broth. It is incredibly delicious! The addition of yuzu gives it a refreshing touch. The use of beef offal adds depth and richness to the soup, showing attention to detail. The medium-thick curly noodles that cling to the soup are chewy and smooth with a pleasant texture. While Shiojin was known for their salt ramen, it turns out their tsukemen is also delicious. I'm a fan now!

I didn't have a chance to eat lunch and entered the restaurant around 4 pm! "Shiojin" is open for business all day. I ordered the "Yuzu Kasu Tsukemen." It arrived after about a 10-minute wait! The presentation is dynamic, but it can be a bit messy and difficult to eat. There is plenty of dipping sauce, so make sure to soak the noodles well before eating. You can smell the faint aroma of yuzu! There are fine oil crumbs settled at the bottom, adding to the texture. It's incredibly delicious. The noodles are flat curly noodles made with Kitahonami domestic wheat and whole grain flour from Japan, produced by Tsurumi Seimen, the original noodles of Shiojin. The toppings include chashu, komatsuna, white negi, and half-seasoned egg. After finishing the noodles, I ordered a soup refill. A tokkuri with soup arrived. I mixed it generously and drank it all, thoroughly enjoying it until the end. I finished both the noodles and the soup. Thank you for the meal. I paid in cash. However, the staff, who were attending to the next customer, mentioned cash or PayPay for payment.

Sakai, or rather Namba Osaka, is represented by the famous salt ramen restaurant "Shiojin". The interior of the restaurant is lined with autographs of celebrities. In addition to salt ramen using Okinawan Nuchimasu, there is also soy sauce ramen on the menu, and there are plenty of set menus to enjoy every time you visit. Among them, what we are introducing this time is the "Yuzukasu Tsukemen"! The unique visual that looks like it spilled out of a bowl is captivating. Toppings such as komatsuna, boiled egg, komatsuna, and tender pork chashu are plentiful, and the dipping sauce is a rich sauce based on fish and pork bones, with plenty of aburakasu added. The scent of yuzu is also nice! When you try it, the aburakasu does a better job than expected! The rich dipping sauce with plenty of minerals, combined with the richness and umami of aburakasu, is addictive. The crunchy texture of the aburakasu is also addictive. The yuzu added to it suppresses the greasiness and leaves a refreshing aftertaste. The chewy noodles also have a satisfying texture and are delicious! Enjoy the addictive dipping sauce until the end by diluting it with a Japanese-style broth as a finish. If you add them as a LINE friend, you will get a free serving of gyoza, which can also be a little extra for your stomach! Of course, the salt ramen is also recommended! I want to go again. Thank you for the meal!

The basic shio ramen with a golden oil slick is a refreshing bowl with a hint of animal and seafood flavors. It's a comforting bowl that slowly seeps in with each bite. Toppings include tender chashu, white negi, komatsuna, and nori. The noodles are medium thickness with a nice chewiness. There are also menu options for those who prefer lighter flavors. Overall, a satisfying meal. Thank you!

Located just a few minutes' walk from JR Otori Station, this ramen shop seems to be affiliated with the izakaya on the second floor, offering a wide variety of meat dishes. The Tetchan Ramen features a light salt broth topped with hormone, providing a rich umami flavor from the fat. Price: 1030 yen (tax included).

Visited Ho-no-Shiojin for the first time on my way home from work in early March of the 5th year of Reiwa. I ordered the value set (yakimeshi set with yuzu shio ramen substitution and yakimeshi extra large). The yuzu shio ramen had a salt-flavored soup with yuzu peel on top, and toppings included 2 slices of chashu, a boiled egg, a sheet of nori, as well as shrimp and komatsuna. The value set at Shiojin is available on weekdays from 3 pm to 10 pm, and on weekends and holidays from 11 am to 10 pm. The breakdown of the order is as follows: Yakimeshi set - 1180 yen, Yuzu shio ramen substitution - 120 yen, Yakimeshi extra large - 200 yen. Total cost: 1500 yen.

On a holiday morning, my spouse and I watched the WBC final Japan vs. America on TV. Japan won against the strong America with a score of 3-2! Still excited, we visited my wife's family grave before heading out for lunch. We decided to try a new place that we have never been to before. Both of us prefer light and simple ramen. We ordered the shio ramen set from the lunch menu. It arrived quickly, along with a fragrant grilled seaweed onigiri. The ramen soup was clear and light, with a delicious saltiness. The medium-thick straight noodles had a smooth and satisfying texture. We enjoyed our meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is great, making it a very comfortable place to be. It gives the impression that they are competing not just as a ramen shop, but also with other side dishes and sashimi. Depending on how you use it, this restaurant can be very convenient. Thank you for the meal.

I chose the popular No. 1 Yuzu Shio Ramen. The noodles were thin but had a nice firmness to them. The soup had a relatively light flavor for ramen (which was fine for me), giving it a refreshing taste. I thought it might be a bit lacking for those who prefer rich and creamy tonkotsu ramen. The fried rice that my companion ordered was simple with few ingredients, like an egg fried rice, but it had a delicious flavor.

I went to a nearby Chinese restaurant for the first time in a few years! I wasn't a fan before, but I thought I'd give it another try. I ordered the lunch set menu which included fried rice and salt ramen for 1100 yen. The salt ramen looked good, but the soup was too light even after adding pepper. The fried rice was cooked well and had a nice texture, but lacked variety in ingredients. Overall, the food was visually appealing but lacked flavor. It's good for health reasons, but I wish it had a bit more flavor. Overall, it was a decent meal.

Visited for lunch with a friend and tried the recommended salt ramen! They use a special salt called "nuchimasu" from Okinawa, and they have a lot of attention to detail.
Location: About a 4-minute walk from Hoho Station. It's a familiar place for locals, but honestly, there's nothing particularly noteworthy about it if you have to come all the way here. However, the convenience is decent, with schools nearby, so it's a good place to live.
Ordered: Salt ramen, raw tsukune (chicken meatball)
Impression: The clear soup is very delicious! The hormone (offal) from teppan (iron plate) is not too strong, making it easy to eat. It's a light ramen shop with very friendly staff, overall a great place!

I decided on the "Spicy Spicy Set" as soon as I sat at the counter seat at Shiojin in Hojo (Sakai City). This set features a collaboration with the famous "Yuzu Kararin" from Hojo, using red yuzu pepper from Kochi prefecture. The red ramen and fried rice are both stimulating with their vibrant colors. The noodles are smooth and chewy, with a refreshing yet flavorful soup that has a hint of yuzu and a spicy kick. The fried rice is moist and flavorful, with a strong kick from the Sichuan chili oil and yuzu pepper. The portion size is generous, leaving you feeling satisfied. Before leaving, I received a "NO NOODLE, NO LIFE." sticker as a gift. It was a delicious meal, thank you. Follow me on Instagram @k_kazukun for more food reviews. Thank you.

Owner who trained at "Menya Osaka Ramen Shiojin Hohomote" and "Tenjitsu Shio Ramen Berashio" opened this shop in August 2012 after gaining experience. Yuzu Shio Ramen for 880 yen. The soup has a light but rich flavor with a base of salt, chicken, pork, and fish. The thin noodles have a firm texture. Toppings include chashu, seasoned with a sweet and fatty pork belly, flavored egg, komatsuna, nori, and shrimp. The soup has a clear oil ring and a rich yet light flavor with chicken as the base, enhanced by the gentle taste of kelp and the sweetness of vegetables. The noodles, made with a blend of "Kitahonami" and whole wheat flour from Tsurumi Seimen, have a crispy texture and a pleasant aroma. The gentle soup flavor and crispy noodles are complemented by a variety of toppings, with yuzu adding a refreshing touch to the salt ramen.
