You can purchase a meal ticket at the ticket vending machine, and you can specify the firmness of the noodles. You pour water into a cup haphazardly placed on the counter and wait for your ramen. The soy sauce ramen set for ¥860 is quite reasonable! (Includes 2 slices of pork, seasoned egg, and rice) Please understand that the customer service and hygiene aspects are lacking.

I went to Onomichi Bunka Ramen Juuhachiban in Shinsaibashi, which is located deep inside and makes you wonder how you found it. The price is amazing at 680 yen including tax! I ordered the Takatsuki Black ramen, which is a black soy sauce ramen. The ramen came with chashu, seasoned egg, white leek, and bamboo shoots. The soup was made with a blend of chicken and seafood, creating a mild black soy sauce flavor that was delicious. The noodles were flat and medium thick, perfect for soaking up the flavorful soup. The chashu was tender and well-seasoned, and the seasoned egg was perfectly cooked. Everything was so delicious that I finished it in no time. The fact that all this cost only 680 yen is unbelievable. This place deserves to be more popular for its incredible value. If you're nearby, you should definitely give it a try!

When I searched for Onomichi ramen in Shinsaibashi, I found a nearby place and decided to visit for the first time! There were no other customers, only the owner. Although there was a ticket machine, I was told to place my order orally. I ordered the rich soy sauce chashu noodles with firm noodles. It arrived in about 5 minutes. The appearance was different from Onomichi ramen, as there was no minced meat oil, but a little bit of fine lard. I first tried the soup, which was sweet soy sauce soup. The noodles were firm, flat, and thin. There was plenty of sweetly seasoned, dry chashu with no fat, and a boiled egg came out from the bottom. It was reasonably priced, but it was different from what I expected as Onomichi ramen. It was Onomichi culture ramen's rich soy sauce chashu noodles, and it did not claim to be Onomichi ramen. As a side note, the owner seemed to be Chinese and reminded me of an actor who said, "I won't serve you tanmen," but maybe that's just me.

I attended a friend's wedding reception but couldn't eat anything, so I hadn't had dinner and it was before 9 pm. I was wondering what to do and randomly entered this restaurant. It was easy to enter because it was late at night and I was alone. The taste was a tonkotsu shoyu base. It came with a boiled egg, but I wanted to eat egg over rice, so when I asked, they kindly accommodated my request. Thank you for being so accommodating. Thank you for the meal.

The entrance and inside of the shop are a bit dull, but they serve well-balanced and delicious ramen. They ask for your preferred noodle firmness, which is nice. I like mine firm, so they cooked flat noodles like linguine to my liking. The char siu is traditional brown and tasty. They even include a half-boiled egg! The char siu don is also old-fashioned with shredded char siu on top. The rice is also good, so it's delicious. Overall, despite the strict atmosphere, the food is tasty and the shop passes in my book.

Today's report is about my experience at a restaurant called "Onomichi Bunka Ramen." I was walking from Honmachi to Namba during lunchtime. Every place I passed by was packed, so I kept walking until I stumbled upon this restaurant in Shinsaibashi by chance. It's located quite deep in a narrow alley off the main street, so it's a bit of a hidden gem. The prices were reasonable. I've never been to Onomichi, so I was torn between tonkotsu or shoyu ramen, but I ended up ordering the Shoyu Chashu Ramen for 880 yen. When I handed in my food ticket, they asked me about the firmness of the noodles. After a short wait, my bowl arrived. The visual presentation, including the chashu, was quite dark. But my worries were unfounded. The soup was surprisingly light and easy to drink, with a sweet and savory flavor. The chashu, which I was worried would be tough, turned out to be incredibly tender and flavorful. It was the type of chashu that tasted amazing when paired with rice. To my surprise, a whole boiled egg emerged from the soup. It was an unexpected and delightful surprise. I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. Today, I am grateful for my healthy body.

I recently discovered this long-standing ramen shop that stays open until late at night. With so many types of ramen to choose from, I decided to go with the classic soy sauce ramen. It's amazing how affordable it is at 680 yen these days! The rich soy sauce broth with plenty of pork fat was delicious. The only downside was a slight hint of pork bone odor, but overall, the flavor was great. I might revisit to try out other menu items that caught my eye.

[Date] September 1, 2020 (Tuesday) 11:43 AM [Foodlog rating at the time of visit] 3.24 [Waiting time] None, 1 person in the restaurant [Service] ✔️ [Will visit again] ✔️ [Cashless payment] Not available The restaurant's interior has a seasoned owner who speaks broken Japanese... Oh... something feels different... The cheerful owner occasionally mixes fluent Japanese in and provides lively service. ✔️ [Aged soy sauce ramen] [Noodles] Straight, medium-thickness noodles [Toppings] 2 slices of pork chashu, chopped green onions, menma (bamboo shoots), pork fat, seasoned egg [Soup] Chicken bone soy sauce with pork fat floating on top. When you try the noodles dipped in the soup, it feels like Onomichi ramen perhaps? Nevertheless, it's delicious. The pork chashu, although looking tough, turned out surprisingly tender with a sweet flavor. The seasoned egg, despite being very dark, wasn't overly intense and had a good balance of flavors, making it delicious. Also, due to the COVID-19 situation, the restaurant offers a free extra serving of noodles! The noodles are served on a plate with soy sauce dressing, chopped green onions on top, and cooked to a firm texture. Aged soy sauce ramen - 680 yen

Number of visits: 1 time The owner seems to be Taiwanese or Chinese, and they kindly guide in slightly broken Japanese. When I went there, they were offering a limited time or regular service of free extra noodle refills. Considering the price, it's quite cost-effective. The soy sauce ramen has a somewhat nostalgic feel, reminiscent of old ramen shops like "Machi no Ramen Shokudo."

I ordered the special thick dipping noodles (regular) for 680 yen, but it turned out to have a seafood-based soup... However, since it was dipping noodles, it was easier to eat compared to ramen. Considering the location and price, I think they are doing their best. I just wish it wasn't seafood-based. By the way, is Onomichi ramen supposed to be seafood-based?

I visited the restaurant on a holiday afternoon. It is located in a back alley in Shinsaibashi. The atmosphere was a bit difficult to enter, but I opened the door and went inside. There is a ticket machine on the left as soon as you enter, and I purchased the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen for 730 yen. Although the soy sauce ramen from Onomichi is a staple here, there were many reviews saying it was too sweet, so I decided to try the Tonkotsu Shoyu instead. There are only counter seats available. The owner seemed to be Chinese and was chatting with a regular Japanese female customer. The ramen arrived in about 4 minutes. First of all, the amount of soup was surprising, it was filled to the brim! The color was light and it had a watery texture. When I tried the soup, the taste was indeed weak. It lacked richness and tasted like I was just drinking water... The taste was barely noticeable thanks to the floating lard. The noodles were straight but they were also mediocre. They resembled cheap instant noodles. The toppings included bamboo shoots, 3 slices of tough and unappetizing pork, and a whole boiled egg. The pork was tough and not tasty, and the whole boiled egg was a bit difficult to eat compared to if it was cut in half. I couldn't taste the flavor of the egg. Hmm, is this Chinese quality? It didn't suit my taste.

Thick soy sauce ramen. It had a really strong smell, so I decided to try it without much research. It tastes like instant ramen, but with a strangely sharp flavor. It's not crowded and cheap, so it might be convenient if you work nearby.

I happened to go in because it wasn't crowded. I ordered a set of soy sauce ramen and tonkotsu ramen, along with fried rice and pickled vegetable rice bowl. If you ask me if this is Onomichi ramen... the fried rice was delicious. The set for 900 yen is a good deal in terms of cost performance.

The ramen had an old-fashioned taste and was mediocre. The mini fried rice also had inconsistent flavors and was not great. The restaurant has an old feel to it, so maybe it's unavoidable, but it seems like the cleanliness is lacking.

Onomichi Bunka Ramen Juhachiban. This is a soy sauce ramen! It has a rich fish and back fat soy sauce broth with thin noodles, and the texture of the green onions is good. The chashu is tender. It was a local ramen from Hiroshima and Onomichi that you can enjoy in Shinsaibashi!

I found a great little restaurant in a back alley that serves Onomichi ramen, a local specialty in Hiroshima. I had never tried Onomichi ramen before, so I decided to go with the tsukemen (dipping noodles) instead. The soup was a light fish and pork bone broth, which didn't stick too much to the medium-thick noodles, allowing me to enjoy it while sipping the soup. The addition of lemon as a condiment added a nice touch of acidity to the dish. The chashu was lean but flavorful, and I also tried their famous mentaiko mayo rice bowl, which had a delicious tangy flavor. I definitely want to come back and try their main dish, the Onomichi ramen, next time.

The restaurant is located near Shinsaibashi Station on the Midosuji Line, but it's a bit hard to find. The owner runs the place alone and the atmosphere is homey with a large TV inside. It's relatively quiet even during lunchtime. I ordered the Shoyu Chashu ramen, which came with slightly sweet Chashu slices, a boiled egg, menma, and green onions as toppings. The soup had a generous amount of soy sauce, so the noodles (straight noodles) felt a bit lacking. After eating, I couldn't help but wonder if this was really like Onomichi ramen. It felt different somehow...

I ordered soy sauce ramen. The soup had a hint of back fat and was a soy sauce-based soup with toppings of chashu, menma, and half-boiled egg. The soup was light and quite tasty! However, it reminded me of a ramen soup I've had before. The noodles were straight and flat, which was a bit disappointing as they lacked firmness and didn't quite match the soup. Personally, I think medium-thick noodles would have been a better fit. The chashu had a slightly sweet taste that reminded me of old-school ramen and was delicious.
