【Completely Smoke-Free】Located at the foot of Mt. Annupuri in Niseko Town, along Route 66, is a tonkatsu restaurant on the first floor of the Yushintei hot spring inn. Their specialty is tonkatsu made from free-range pork. Customers can enjoy unlimited refills of water, roasted green tea, rice, miso soup, and cabbage. For those dining, there is a special offer of a day-use hot spring bath for an additional 100 yen. Lunch service only.Visited on March 6, 2014, at 12:30 pm. After getting off the ski bus, I stumbled upon this place while looking for a dining spot. Upon entering, I changed into slippers and found a counter on the left side. In the back was the hot spring, with a smoking room in front. On the right side was the "Konayuki Tonton" pork cutlet restaurant. There were two groups of five customers, with one group seemingly having just finished bathing. We sat at a table with tatami flooring and ordered: I had the loin cutlet set for 1449 yen, and my companion had the fillet cutlet set for 1554 yen, with an additional 100 yen for the bath. We ground sesame seeds while waiting. The couple's order was prepared first, so it took about 15 minutes before our food was served. The sesame seeds turned out nicely. For the tonkatsu, there were various condiments like sauce, rock salt, soy sauce, mustard dressing, plum-based, ginger soy sauce, and creamy sesame. I had sauce and salt on my cutlet, while my companion had just sesame. The tonkatsu had a crispy exterior, juicy interior, and a sweet, melty fat. The rice was so good that I had two helpings. The miso soup with bonito broth, white miso, and ingredients like enoki mushrooms, tofu, and green onions was also delicious, with two refills. The salad dressings were all great too. I would love to come back if I have the chance.
