Apollo Plus is a unique izakaya that surpasses the typical expectations of a casual dining spot. The crispy pork salad was a standout, with perfectly grilled pork, mayo-based sauce, and crunchy cabbage that was expertly cut to avoid any sharp edges. The gyoza, sashimi, and other dishes were also a cut above the rest. The real highlight, however, was the meat dishes. The beef cutlet melted in the mouth with a high-quality meat that had no resistance. The sauce complemented it perfectly. Even the tarako spaghetti was on another level, with a freshness and preparation that elevated it beyond a simple homemade dish. Apollo Plus offers a refined dining experience with delicate flavors that go beyond the typical izakaya fare.

Sashimi platter with saury, sea bream, beltfish, conger eel, and octopus (sweet). The beltfish was firm and delicious, and I ended up ordering more saury because it was so tasty! Fried tofu in sweet miso sauce with lean beef cutlet. Ordered the sirloin as it had less fat. Kyoto vegetable salad with a variety of colorful vegetables. Saw someone else order it and couldn't resist ordering it myself. Appetizer dumplings and spicy cod roe pasta. The pasta was cooked al dente and delicious. Tried the Junmai Daiginjo sake and ended up drinking more than I intended. Finished with a refreshing highball. Another restaurant to add to my list of places to revisit. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Apollo+ in Karasuma Oike for the first time in a while. The shop's sign says "just an izakaya, but still an izakaya," and you can feel their dedication to being an izakaya! The menu offers a wide variety of seafood, meat, and vegetables, so you won't get tired of it no matter how many times you visit. Personally, the gyoza and conger eel tempura were especially delicious!! The gyoza had a strong ginger flavor, crispy on the outside, and very juicy, it was amazing. As for the conger eel, it's a fish that you must eat in Kansai during this season! Everyone, please try it out. #Kyoto #KarasumaOike #izakaya #KyotoGourmet #KarasumaOikeGourmet #KyotoDinner #KarasumaOikeDinner #KyotoIzakaya #KarasumaOikeIzakaya #JustAnIzakayaButStillAnIzakaya #TabelogFan #TabelogHighRating #PopularShop #IzakayaLover #DrinkingLover #SnackLover #LoveGoodFood #Delicious #DeliciousShopHere #DinnerOnACertainHoliday #SalarymanFoodDiary #SalarymanHoliday #WorkingAdultHoliday #CarefulLiving

During Golden Week, I made a reservation on Tabelog and visited Kyoto. We had Kyoto vegetable salad, assorted sashimi, bamboo shoots, deep-fried tofu, and dumplings. I especially liked the dumplings! The price for the assorted sashimi is not fixed, so it's hard to evaluate the value, but it's a nice place to enjoy Kyoto's night. The staff's service and speed were good, and I feel like coming back again.

I made a reservation and visited on Sunday night. Even on a Sunday night, it seemed like the reserved seats were full. Reservation is a must. I ordered Kyoto vegetable salad, assorted sashimi, chicken meatball and spring cabbage stew, bamboo shoot tempura, and more. In addition to typical Kyoto home-style dishes, there are many dishes using fresh seafood and seasonal ingredients. The Kyoto vegetable salad was simple yet the vegetables were flavorful and delicious. The assorted sashimi allows you to enjoy fresh fish. Surprisingly, the tuna was delicious. The chicken meatball and spring cabbage stew were served in a small pot. The strong broth enhances the flavors of the chicken meatballs and spring cabbage. There is a sense of security that you won't go wrong with any dish you choose. It's a restaurant I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

The pumpkin spring rolls and the signature dish, beef cutlet, were delicious! It's a perfect place for a casual date. All the desserts were also delicious! The dishes that were a bit disappointing were the salmon roe bowl and the fried baby potatoes.

As it is a tourist spot, I made a reservation expecting it to be crowded, but since it was a Sunday, it felt empty. I had seen the dishes I wanted to eat on SNS beforehand, but there were also many other menu options, which was nice. The table seats were in a unique private room style. Please be careful of your head and feet :)

When looking for a casual Japanese meal, it's easy to end up here. I always come for sashimi, grilled fish, and simmered fish. Ordering drinks at the counter is convenient, so I always do that. I tried ordering a salad for the first time and it had a nice punch to it. I'll definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal. There's a charming atmosphere here.

During our trip to Kyoto, we wanted to visit a delicious izakaya for the first time with my partner. As expected, the level is high in Kyoto! The sashimi was fresh and the prices were reasonable. The Kamo eggplant with miso sauce was amazing, with the eggplant being melt-in-your-mouth tender and the broth being delicious! Even the smashed cucumber had a rich sesame-flavored broth. And the Apollo dumplings were the best! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with vegetable flavor! Is there no garlic in this? Is it chives? The punch is as strong as garlic! Yay! I couldn't decide between the three types of fried chicken, but ended up choosing the Oyakodon. The crispy fried chicken coated in a flavorful Oyakodon sauce was delicious, and I wish I could have tried the other two types if my stomach had allowed it. The service was also impeccable, making it a very pleasant dining experience. I would love to visit this place again during my next trip to Kyoto. I got so caught up in eating and drinking that I only took photos of the sashimi...

I went to a restaurant looking for a place where I could eat steak or teppanyaki. [Date/Time/Crowdedness] Sunday, 7:30 PM. I made a reservation but the restaurant was full. [Location/Parking] Located east of Karasuma Oike. [Food Review] - Assorted sashimi (small, for 2 people) - Potato salad (600 yen) - Kyoto Apollo Gyoza (with garlic) - Tempura of shrimp (1,100 yen) - Spring cabbage and asparagus namul (550 yen) - Changjak cream cheese (660 yen) - 100g steak, sirloin (3,080 yen) - Ikura rice bowl (990 yen) - Ochazuke (with salmon, 700 yen) - About 4 soft drinks. The sashimi platter, head-on shrimp tempura, cabbage and asparagus namul were particularly delicious. The gyoza was vegetable gyoza, but it was very tasty. The steak was smoked under a glass lid, but I preferred to eat it without the smoky flavor. The ikura rice bowl had grated yam, seasoned seaweed, and a sweet and sour sauce that overpowered the ikura flavor. It would be better if they served just the ikura with half the rice for the same price. Despite some flaws, the restaurant offers many delicious dishes and has a good attitude towards making improvements. Overall, it's a great restaurant that doesn't solely rely on cost performance.

I wonder if this izakaya restaurant that makes you feel Kyoto puts a lot of effort into Kyoto vegetables. The Kyoto vegetable salad, including the dressing, was very delicious. I could taste the rich flavor of each vegetable, and it was so enjoyable. The Kamo eggplant miso dish was also beautifully presented and easy to eat with chopsticks. The food was very delicious, but I felt a bit unsettled. Maybe it's because of the COVID-19 measures, but even though the atmosphere of the restaurant was calm, I couldn't have a relaxed conversation with a raised voice. Hmm, maybe sitting at the counter would have been better?

I visited the restaurant around 6 pm on a weekday. It was not crowded as it was early. I sat at the counter and ordered a sashimi assortment, Kyoto vegetable salad, taranome tempura, and fried tofu. The sashimi assortment and salad were served in smaller portions since I was dining alone. The assortment included yellowtail, red sea bream, cured mackerel, squid, bluefin tuna, and octopus. Everything was fresh and delicious. The Kyoto vegetable salad featured fresh local produce with a homemade dressing that complemented it well. The taranome tempura was made with slightly bitter taranome shoots and was freshly fried. The fried tofu was made with Kyoto tofu, thinly coated and fried. The tofu was tasty and paired well with the savory broth. I enjoyed it all with two glasses of draft beer and a glass of chilled sake. It was a delicious meal. Thank you.

First visit! The semi-private room was very cozy. The seating arrangement was like bunk beds with seats on the top, which was playful and fun. The food was delicious and served quickly. I didn't take many photos, but I had the mentaiko cheese omelette, lotus root tempura, and oden, all of which were tasty. It seems like a great place for a date or celebration!

I stayed in Karasuma and searched for where to go for dinner, found it and made a reservation. It was a great choice ^_^ First of all, the appetizer Kinpira was delicious. The sashimi platter was more refined than a seafood specialty store. The shrimp was so fresh that it was still moving a little after being served. The famous gyoza was refreshing and you could eat as much as you wanted. The oyster fry was served with a salad piled high with fresh vegetables, followed by mentaiko pasta and baguette to scoop up the sauce. Finish off with as much alcohol as you like at this reasonable price. Thank you for the meal. Sorry, the photos are all of half-eaten dishes because I was so focused on eating. Actually, the dishes are much more beautiful and there is a lot more of them!

The restaurant offers a wide variety of menu items so you can enjoy your favorite dishes. I like the semi-private loft seating. All the dishes are delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice. The private room felt like a hidden gem, which was interesting. The staff is attentive and their smiles are comforting. The restroom had a pleasant scent. The owner is friendly and engaging, making it a truly cozy and welcoming place.

It's always full so reservations are a must. I'm currently obsessed with shirako, so I enjoyed ponzu, grilled, and tempura versions. The steak is smoked with cherry wood and brought to your table. The sashimi is also top-notch. They also have hamburg steak, so even picky eaters should be able to find something to enjoy.
