Today, I went to dinner with my advisor! It was my third visit to this restaurant, and the course menu is always so abundant that my advisor can never finish it, and I end up quite full. Today, I requested a smaller portion size with higher quality ingredients, but I still ended up feeling quite full. The atmosphere is a mix of Japanese and Chinese ceramics, which is nice! The flavors are light and each dish feels like it was made with care by the chef. The staff, dressed in traditional Japanese clothing, exude a bit of charm and are very friendly! Overall, I left feeling very satisfied with a full stomach! I might go back again!

Opened on March 1st. "Namba Zenen" offers authentic kaiseki cuisine with a luxurious and exotic atmosphere. We enjoyed the seasonal menu, including the famous "Akashi natural red snapper rice." The course we had was the "Kushikon Course" which included various dishes such as spring vegetable tempura and red snapper rice. As we savored the dishes, we felt the anticipation of spring. Located at Namba Zenen, Namba Dining Maison 7F, Osaka City, Chuo-ku, Osaka 5-1-18, contact 06-6599-8753.

It was a Sunday lunch visit. I was originally planning to go to Takashimaya for a Japanese meal, but since I couldn't make a reservation in advance, I ended up choosing this restaurant nearby where I could reserve a table. Both Takashimaya and this Nihonbashi building have parking fees, which added up to about 3,000 yen. There is no parking service available. I used to go to Zen Garden in HARBIS often, and I didn't know they had a branch here. Since I was short on time, I ordered regular dishes. I ordered a bento box and sukiyaki matsutake for myself, and a children's meal with nikujaga for my 1.5-year-old. The flavors were strong, just like before, and everything was delicious! I didn't take a picture, but I also ordered the pork cutlet set after that. The total bill came to around 10,000 yen. It was delicious, I will come back again! Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop I often use. It is directly connected to the station and has a parking lot, making it convenient. The private rooms are easy to use and the atmosphere of the shop is nice. The prices are reasonable and I think it offers good value for money. However, the room charge for the private rooms is a bit high.

As the day of Doyo no Ushi (midsummer day of the ox) approaches, I decided to go to Zenen, a Japanese restaurant located on the 2nd floor of the Hotel Nikko Osaka, to have eel rice bowl. The recommended set meal with eel rice bowl costs 3500 yen, which is a bit pricey. However, from the photos, it looks like they use domestic eel, which is usually around 5000 yen. To keep the price down, they might either reduce the amount of eel or use imported eel from China. I wonder which option is better. The ambiance of the restaurant is luxurious, with comfortable chairs and complimentary cold tea. When the eel rice bowl arrived, my expectations were high. Hmm, it seems to be cut eel. Perhaps they reduced the amount of domestic eel as part of their strategy. The overall view shows that instead of eel liver, they served miso soup with Nameko mushrooms. Since they don't prepare the eel on-site, this is what you get. It is delicious, and the domestic eel is indeed tasty. However, the cut eel is different from the menu's photo (lol). It may seem a bit repetitive, but the domestic eel is undeniably delicious. Considering the great location and comfortable atmosphere of the restaurant, the price seems fair even with cut eel. Eel is high in calories, so having a smaller portion might actually be better. The famous saying by Hiraga Gennai about eating eel in summer seems to be a wise choice in the end. Eel is rich in EPA, which cannot be stored in the body, so it's essential to eat it regularly in both summer and winter.

This day was a small gathering. As summer is approaching, we wanted to eat conger eel, so we headed to Shinsaibashi. We went to "Zenen" located on the basement second floor of Hotel Nikko, directly connected to Shinsaibashi Station. The space, with individual rooms in red and black tones, has an exotic feel rather than traditional Japanese, creating a calm atmosphere. It is recommended for formal occasions such as business dinners or meetings. Summer limited conger eel kaiseki course "Fuurin" for 12,100 yen. This day, three of us had a drinking party in a private room. We enjoyed a conger eel kaiseki course featuring "Beppein Conger Eel" from Awaji Island! The meal also included ingredients from Awaji Island, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Of course, conger eel goes well with sake! We ended up drinking a lot while enjoying choosing sake cups. The seasonal appetizer consisted of various dishes: water moon tofu, spicy lotus root, Ishigaki taro, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, herb-steamed duck, and fig and shine muscat vinegared dish. The water moon tofu, resembling Japanese sweets, had a gentle and refreshing taste perfect for relieving the summer heat. The soup dish featured grated Awaji Island onions. Thinly sliced winter melon melted softly, revealing conger eel underneath! Another perfect dish for summer. The sashimi course included lightly boiled conger eel and Izumisano water eggplant. Served with plum meat and soy sauce, this dish was delightful. The grilled dish featured Beppein conger eel in kabayaki style. Served with asparagus and gold rush apples, a perfect summer accompaniment. The fried dish was conger eel cutlet in salad style. The sudachi sauce was exceptionally delicious! The hot pot dish featured conger eel shabu-shabu. Ingredients included onions and lotus roots. The conger eel and lotus roots absorbed the broth well and were delicious. The tangy kanzuri added a spicy kick to the dish! The rice dish was conger eel tsukudani tea-soaked rice. The sweet and savory conger eel tsukudani soaked into the rice. I want to eat this every night. The dessert was sweet melon to finish the meal. We enjoyed the sake and had a great time. Thank you for the meal!

[Overall Impression] The dishes had a familiar taste, nothing too complicated or difficult to understand. Everything was delicious without any doubts. It's common to question if paying a lot of money for food is worth it, but here, the taste just hits you and you know it's delicious without any hesitation. [Dish Impressions] - Mozuku, agar jelly with whole sweet tomatoes, various types of chimaki: Small and unique dishes that were all delicious without being overly focused on presentation or creativity. - Katsuo tataki: Loved this dish, it got me excited. - Eggplant filled with white miso and cheese gratin (no macaroni, unnecessary): This was the most delicious dish! Rich and flavorful, perfect with alcohol. - Kushikatsu with plum sauce: The plum sauce was a perfect match, almost brought tears to my eyes. The menu creator must have the same taste preference as me, it was impressive. - Kakuni? Not as fatty and easy to eat. - Tai meshi (enough for two people, haha): You can take the leftovers home, and you definitely should because there will be leftovers. - Tai dashi chazuke, miso soup: The miso soup was surprisingly sweet, maybe because of the white miso? - Dessert: Wait, are we having daifuku now? Heavy... oh, there's banana inside! I get it now. It's so satisfying and filling! [Interior] Spacious private rooms with traditional Japanese chairs and tables, not tatami seating, which made it comfortable to enjoy Japanese cuisine without having to sit seiza for a long time. Couldn't find any flaws for sure, but there are plenty of great things about this place that make it a favorite spot at a mysterious level.

The sukiyaki-style meat was especially delicious at the birthday party. The overall balance of the course was great, and we were able to enjoy our meal. We used a private room, which was spacious and allowed us to relax. Next time, I would like to try the sukiyaki course.

This time we had a large group so we used a private room. The lighting inside the restaurant is quite dark, making you forget that it's daytime. I had the sea bream tea rice set. It came with sea bream tea rice, myoga, simmered dish, tempura, bite-sized soba with seaweed, vinegar dish, pickles, and fragrant side dishes. It was delicious with a generous serving. They also have private rooms, so it's a recommended restaurant for business meals and gatherings.

I initially thought this was a high-end restaurant with a high threshold, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they also offer affordable lunch options. I visited with two friends, and when we asked if we could split the sauce and grated daikon for the tonkatsu, they kindly accommodated our request. We were able to enjoy two different flavors and had a great time.

I relied on a certain restaurant but it was closed, so I had to find another place for lunch. I decided to try this place which was almost full. I had high hopes for the food, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. The grilled fish was lukewarm, the sashimi lacked flavor, and the tamagoyaki and katsu seemed like they were frozen. The only dish I enjoyed was the miso soup. I won't be visiting this place again.

I ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious. The sashimi assortment was especially good, with fresh and tasty seafood. The sea urchin was also delicious, although I felt it didn't really need to be paired with meat. I tried the horse sashimi but it wasn't very good, unfortunately.

In the basement of the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel, there is a restaurant called Shinsaibashi Zenen. The interior is a bit dark (I was wearing sunglasses so it was surprisingly dark). I chose the eel sushi and vinegar citrus half-dried noodles set meal, and after much deliberation, I chose the Matsukado bento box. It was very luxurious with a variety of dishes that made me excited. There were a few items that I didn't recognize, but I didn't bother asking and just ate them, and they were delicious. I wish the tempura had come with tempura dipping sauce instead of salt, but overall I was very satisfied even though it was a bit pricey at 2500 yen. I would definitely come back to try other menu items.

If you're stuck on where to have lunch, head to the dining area in the basement of Hotel Nikko. Today's lunch was at "Shinsaibashi Zenen" and it's already lunchtime, but the lighting inside the restaurant is calming, making you lose track of time. I ordered the one-bite katsu meal today! The side dishes are also satisfying and the contents change regularly, so you can enjoy the same menu without getting bored! Thank you for the meal today.

Shinsaibashi ◇ Sukiyaki ◇ [Nishi-Shinsaibashi 1-chome, Chuo-ku] Located on the 2nd floor of Hotel Nikko Osaka, Shinsaibashi Zenen is a restaurant we visited for lunch on a holiday without a reservation, as it was the opening time. There were no other customers when we arrived, and we were seated at a table for 4 people (with an acrylic board in the middle). The lunch menu included: - Matsukado Bento (2500 yen) - Tai Chazuke Set Meal (2000 yen) - Mochi Pork Bite-size Cutlet Set Meal (1100 yen) - Sashimi Set Meal (1100 yen) - Ebi Tendon Set Meal (1000 yen) - Sukiyaki Set Meal (3500 yen) I ordered the sukiyaki, while my companion ordered the Matsukado Bento. The meat was Saga black wagyu A4, cooked on a hot plate to perfection. It was served with two small eggs, which was a nice touch. We finished the meal by adding udon noodles to the remaining broth. The restaurant had a chic atmosphere with dim lighting, and there was also counter seating available for solo diners. Around noon, a few more customers started to arrive for lunch. Children are allowed during lunchtime on weekends only. After finishing our meal, we left the restaurant satisfied and looking forward to trying their alcoholic beverages next time.

I had some shopping to do in Shinsaibashi, so I went to a Japanese restaurant in the basement of Nikko. The interior was too dark, making it look unnecessarily upscale, but the prices were a bit high, so it might be better to make it more casual. I ordered the ¥2000 sea bream tea-soaked rice set, and it was delicious.

Every year during the cold season, I can only enjoy the katsu soup set meal! Today, I went to "Zenen" in Shinsaibashi to have it. I usually have this katsu soup throughout the season, but this year was my first time trying it. It had a lighter finish compared to last season. The katsu soup this time was also delicious. This set meal also comes with generous side dishes, making it a satisfying meal for both the stomach and the heart. Thank you for the delicious katsu soup.

The interior of the restaurant is calm with a slightly dim atmosphere around the counter and tables. I ordered the sukiyaki set meal for 2980 yen. It came with plenty of meat and two eggs, but the vegetables were a bit lacking. The rice was freshly cooked and delicious, and the miso soup had a nice broth and tasted great.

When I can't decide what to eat, I always wander around the basement of the Nikko Hotel. So, for today's lunch, I went to "Zen-en" restaurant. It's always crowded during lunchtime. I love that they offer a variety of side dishes in addition to the main dish (*^-^*). When you finish everything, you'll feel quite full. Thank you for the delicious meal today.

For lunch today, I decided to have a Japanese meal at this restaurant. It was a holiday so I made a reservation just in case, but it was not crowded, maybe due to the current situation. I also pre-ordered my meal. I had the "Matsumotodou Bento Box" (2200 yen including tax), which includes appetizers, assorted side dishes, sashimi, grilled dish, and vinegar dish all served in one box. There was no explanation of the dishes, but the appetizer was a beautiful green tofu with a mild wasabi. The assorted side dishes included edamame, small sushi, fresh wheat gluten, etc. The grilled dish was a delicious mackerel with a Kyoto-style miso flavor. The sashimi was tuna and squid, pretty standard. The vinegar dish was octopus and cucumber with a mild vinegar miso dressing. The tempura included shrimp, pumpkin, burdock root, etc., all crispy and freshly fried, served with cherry blossom salt. The rice was cooked with a flavorful broth, very delicious. For dessert, there was a refreshing orange jelly. Overall, it was a delightful meal!
