On this day, I had some business in Osaka. I searched for a late lunch spot and decided to visit this restaurant that had caught my attention before. It is located underground down a flight of stairs. It was just before 2 pm on a weekday, but there was a line at the entrance. It's a popular place. However, the turnover seemed fast, and I only had to wait about 10 minutes to get in. The restaurant is small with 7-8 counter seats and 2 large table seats. While waiting in line, I had already decided on the Tianjin fried rice from the menu I saw, and since I was quite hungry that day, I ordered the large portion for ¥1,080. Since I was seated at the counter, I could watch the kitchen as usual. I was impressed by the fact that they made everything from scratch except for the soup, and they made sure to taste everything properly. I noticed that they even made the sauce from scratch. What caught my attention was that the fried rice for the person next to me was prepared separately. This became clear later on. After a while, my order was served. Wow! What a huge portion! Unexpected! However, for some reason, I was confident that I could finish the fried rice even though it was quite a large portion. I wonder why. I started eating, and it was really delicious. The sauce poured over it was not sweet and sour but a Chinese dashi-based sauce, which was made with a wonderful soup. The egg was fluffy and tasty, and I think that's because the seasoning of the sauce was kept light. The fried rice was also intentionally made mild in flavor, and when eaten together with the egg and sauce, it created a wonderful collaboration where none of the flavors were overpowering. Thanks to that, I was able to finish it without getting tired of it. That's why the fried rice was prepared separately! But be careful with the portion size. A regular portion here is like a large portion at other restaurants. So, this one was a special large portion! Probably everything at this restaurant is delicious, right? The sweet and sour pork that the person next to me was eating looked delicious. The ramen made with the same wonderful dashi seemed delicious too. The soup that came with it was probably the same, but even with a light seasoning, it was delicious and flavorful. The menu of this town Chinese restaurant, prepared with care and dedication, was all very appealing. Also, the heartfelt service of the lady in the dining area must be captivating the regular customers. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.
