Oh no. We should have gone to Hiroo Town on an empty stomach. That's all we can say about our feelings. Well, it's time for a long drive. It's the Kikuchi Farm Cafe that I've been wishing to visit for almost a year, hoping it was closer. The quality of dairy products is unquestionable, and the frozen beef they sell has an amazing cost-performance ratio. It's a rare Brown Swiss cow that you can't find in supermarkets. *Note* It seems they also have Holstein beef. You can't specify which one to buy as it depends on the cows' situation at the time, so it seems. With hardly any fat content, it's a special meat that I, a lover of lean red meat, find delicious with the highest yield. Ah, I didn't want to tell anyone about it so much (tears). I wanted to secretly go there and have it all to myself... (T ^ T) Naturally, it has become known to everyone in recent years, and it seems to be sold out at times. It's inevitable as they are different from livestock farmers who mainly sell beef cattle. After finishing our morning work, we dashed to Hiroo Town as soon as possible. We had lunch in the car with bread and rice balls we bought at the convenience store. Even though we only ate one piece of bread, I feel strangely full. Maybe I was nervous because it was a long drive after a long time. With a stomachache, we quietly entered the cafe's door. Despite finally realizing our visit amidst the waves of Corona. Ugh, why is this happening? It's too sad to just have a drink, so we ordered the recommended menu, Milk Brulee, with coffee. As the owner's mother kindly explained, "It's more generous than it looks" (probably Hiroo-style. Overall, it's generous and kind, Hiroo Town), it was a sweet that hit the spot. Wow, the rich milk flavor is overwhelming! Fresh, milk-flavored whipped cream is generously piled on top. The bottom part, like pudding, is subtly sweet. It was a dish that packed the deliciousness of rich milk to the max. The coffee was also delicious, and the view was beautiful (even though it was already dusk). The meat is still very popular, and the hamburgers and ground meat have been sold out for a while. As expected, really delicious. I bought shank meat for beef stew, and variously usable loin and sirloin meat. The shank meat I simmered in a pressure cooker later was clear and free of any off-flavors. The slight lingering milk flavor in the aftertaste seems to be a characteristic of Kikuchi Farm's meat. I had the same impression when I ate it last time, so it seems to be right. During this period, Hiroo Town was in the campaign period for cashless payments. When I tried to pay the full amount at once, the staff kindly advised me, "There is a limit to the reduction, so if you split the payment into three, you will get a larger reduction," and even went through the trouble of splitting the payment for me. What kindness, what kindness!! The people in the town are genuinely kind, and I want to live in Hiroo Town already! The climate is gentle, unlike the inland areas where it never drops to minus 20 degrees. It's mild. You can see why people choose to move here. There are also lovely cafes and top-notch seafood restaurants to enjoy. When you feel like your perspective has become narrow due to busyness with work, it's a beloved town that you suddenly want to visit.
