One of the hidden gems at the newly renovated Shibuya Parco is "Kome to Circus" with its intriguing exterior. Why game meat, you ask? Well, because Kanjani Eight was seen enjoying bear meat, so why not try some game meat hot pot as well? Here are some of the menu items: - Deer sukiyaki set meal (1,200 yen) - Boar sukiyaki set meal (1,600 yen) - Badger sukiyaki set meal (2,500 yen) - Bear sukiyaki set meal (2,800 yen) - Raccoon sukiyaki set meal (2,600 yen) - Crocodile sukiyaki set meal (1,300 yen) - Ostrich sukiyaki set meal (1,700 yen) - Kangaroo sukiyaki set meal (1,300 yen) (Note: availability may vary depending on the season) Looking at the prices, crocodile and kangaroo are quite affordable. As a fan of unique foods, I was drawn to the bear sukiyaki set meal, but what's with the badger? And what exactly is a badger bear? BUG Burger is also available. If you're thinking about sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the importance of insect consumption for the future, it's worth considering. However, lacking the courage, I opted for the "Rabbit and Crocodile Fried Set Meal" (1,500 yen) this time. Well, this is also quite unique, right? Rabbit and crocodile each come in 8 small pieces of fried meat. The portions were actually more than I expected (I thought there would be less). As for the taste, it was delicious. Crocodile and rabbit are said to taste like chicken, and indeed they are quite similar once fried. Rabbit is commonly used in French cuisine, and I remember trying crocodile in Australia back in 2000. Sweet chili sauce and mayo are also served on the side, but when eaten plain, they have a distinct taste (different from chicken). By the way, crocodile is not considered game meat. The phrase "itadakimasu" that we casually say before meals means "I humbly receive" and expresses gratitude for the lives that sustain us, whether it's game meat, beef, pork, chicken, or crops. Dining at a mysterious space with Showa era music playing in the background, where you can enjoy game meat, is definitely an adventure in the newly renovated Shibuya Parco. If you're feeling adventurous, give it a try (laughs). Personally, I don't dislike game meat, so next time I'll try the sukiyaki. Bear sukiyaki, that is. Bon appétit!
