For the last Meat Day of 2022, I went to Yu Gen Tei (Sukiyaki Senka) because Sujuen was fully booked. It's been almost 4 years since my last visit. Last time, I had a regular hot pot for dinner. This time was similar, with the typical Fuji Food System impression - simple and straightforward, without any unnecessary elements. The service was polite and good. The staff had delicious smiles! I had the Sukiyaki Hot Pot Set with udon noodles, salad, rice with pickles, red miso soup, dessert (agar jelly), and black tea.

Today, I had lunch here. On the last day of work, I spent lunchtime with my colleagues. I requested very little rice in advance. The domestic beef was delicious, and having sukiyaki for lunch was such a luxurious treat. The sauce wasn't too sweet, and the garnish of green onions was appetizing. At the New Otani Osaka on the 3rd floor, I enjoyed sukiyaki and shabu-shabu at Fujio-san. The sweet broth was to my liking. I went for lunch and was able to get refills of egg and white rice, which I happily devoured (5 times, oops!). If you use the New Otani's parking lot, you can get 2 hours of free parking (show your receipt). The nearest public transportation options are Osaka-jo Koen Station and Osaka Business Park Station, both about 300m away.

The restaurant is located inside the hotel, so it has a very calm atmosphere. The view from the window is superb, with views of Osaka Castle and the Osaka Loop Line. I was surprised by the amount of sukiyaki served, as I thought there would be only a small amount of meat. Although a service charge is added, it's a nice place to relax. As for the service... I visited the restaurant right after it opened during the Bon Festival. There is a paid underground parking lot in the hotel, so you can also go by car. Since it was right after the opening, there were no other customers, and we were seated immediately. We had a spacious private room where we could comfortably relax. The view of the river from the large window was also nice. This time, I ordered a sukiyaki rice bowl. It had a not too sweet seasoning, plenty of tender meat, well-flavored thick mushrooms, and the egg mixed well, making it delicious. The pickles and soup were also tasty, and the service was polite. This is a shop inside Hotel New Otani. When I entered, I was seated at a window seat with a view of Osaka Castle. As it is a shop inside a hotel, the prices are on the higher side, so this time I opted for the most affordable sukiyaki bowl. It had savory meat, onions, and a warm egg on top. I can't visit this shop often, but it's nice to indulge in luxury once in a while.

We had a leisurely meal at "Sukiyaki and Shabu-Shabu Fujio" located on the 3rd floor of Hotel New Otani Osaka during Christmas. We chose the Shabu-Shabu course to enjoy the sweetness of A5 grade domestic black wagyu beef, priced at 8000 yen. The meal included seasonal appetizers, white cabbage and mentaiko salad, beef and konjac simmered in broth, A5 grade domestic black wagyu beef shabu-shabu with assorted vegetables, and more. The meat was beautifully marbled and each slice was large. You can request the thickness of the meat slices to suit your preference. The sesame sauce and citrus-scented ponzu for dipping were delicious. The texture and taste of the large shiitake mushrooms were also excellent. The meal ended with Toyama-produced Koshihikari rice cooked in a pot and a choice of dessert.

<First Visit in December '18> As a memo... I had a training session at IMP and decided to have lunch beforehand at Hotel New Otani. The purpose was to have a limited lunch at Seryna. However, it was fully booked! So, I ended up changing to sukiyaki at the neighboring restaurant. The cozy Japanese atmosphere was pleasant. It was a private room, and you could even see Osaka Castle from the window. The sweet aroma of the broth was also nice. I ordered the following: - Sukiyaki (¥3500): Sukiyaki, rice, red miso soup, egg, pickles The staff in Japanese attire were polite. The sweet broth melted into the meat and was delicious. The meal was satisfying in terms of both taste and portion.

Food: You can choose the thickness of the meat. I chose a medium thickness, but the thinner option might have been easier to eat. I felt the meat itself lacked flavor and didn't quite match well with the strong taste of the ponzu sauce. Most of the dishes other than shabu-shabu were placed on the table at the beginning.
Service: The timing and attitude of serving other dishes and drinks were good.
