While exploring the somewhat damp streets of Akihabara, if you feel like satisfying your sweet tooth a bit, head over to Tachiarai Kanda Daruma in Suehirocho Station for some taiyaki. They had seasonal offerings like strawberry daifuku, but if you're looking for a sugary boost with a bit more substance, go for the taiyaki. One order is quickly prepared and easy to eat on the go with its simple packaging. I found a shady spot under the nearby overpass to enjoy my snack time. The square taiyaki wasn't as crispy as I expected, but the three-dimensional taiyaki with a generous amount of red bean paste inside was just right in sweetness. The balance between the wheat and the filling made it easy to eat. It's perfect for a quick sugar boost when you're feeling tired from walking.

Located at the intersection of Kuramae and Chuo Street, Kanda Daruma is a popular spot. It is conveniently situated within a 0-minute walk from Suehirocho Station, making it easily accessible. Kanda Daruma offers taiyaki with two fillings: anko (red bean paste) and cream. This time, I tried the cream (custard) filling. The taiyaki is cooked with the tail attached, giving it a crispy texture. It's a satisfying snack to enjoy when you're feeling a bit peckish.

This is a shop that originated in Ogawa-cho and specializes in taiyaki with wings. The shop is located near the intersection of Sotokanda 5-chome along Chuo-dori. It is very close to Suehirocho Station. When my daughter said she wanted to eat taiyaki as we passed by the shop, we decided to stop by. There were a few people lined up in front of the shop, all of whom were foreign tourists except for us. Personally, I think of taiyaki with sweet bean paste, but for some reason, my daughter prefers cream. So, this time, she chose cream filling again. The dough was fragrant, crispy, and the inside was filled with cream. My daughter was eating happily, saying it was delicious. (2023/03)

As I was walking by, I noticed this shop that had caught my eye for a while. Today, there was a foreign parent and child waiting in line. Hmm, should I try it too? The son started eating a sweet potato taiyaki and gestured to his father that it was delicious. I decided to line up as well. The father also tried it and gestured to his wife that it was delicious. The wife declined, so I took my turn. Huh? Is it okay? It must be really delicious. It's filled with sweet potato, a favorite of women. I enjoyed a refreshing red bean taiyaki on the chair outside the shop.

The cream puff was sold out right in front of me, so disappointing! I ended up buying one chestnut paste and one sweet red bean paste. The crispy outer layer was a nice touch! The chestnut paste didn't have a strong chestnut flavor, it felt more like white bean paste to me. Sweet red bean paste was the winner. But I really wanted to have cream.

Located about a 10-minute walk from Akihabara Station, this place was visited around 6pm on a Sunday, with only 2 groups of customers already there. They accept cashless payments and seem to keep their taiyaki warm, as the service was quick. Purchased a taiyaki with red bean paste, strawberry daifuku, and a daifuku sandwiched between a monaka shell. The red bean paste stood out the most, with a thin taiyaki shell and generous filling. The strawberry daifuku also had a high ratio of filling to dough. The daifuku with monaka had a good balance. Overall, the experience felt more like eating anko (red bean paste) than traditional Japanese sweets, with innovative taiyaki offerings.

I wanted to have some taiyaki with red bean paste after lunch, so I bought three for 200 yen each. On my way back to the office, I planned to get some natural taiyaki as a gift for the female staff, but I ended up forgetting and passing by the shop. Oh well, I'll get the natural ones next time. Today, I bought some farmed taiyaki with wings instead. I chose red bean paste over cream, as I prefer the traditional filling. The taiyaki had a smaller filling due to the wings, but the crispy wings and mildly sweet red bean paste made it enjoyable without getting too heavy. I'll bring the natural ones next time, so stay tuned! I enjoyed it. - August 16, 2021, Takeout - 3.19

I tried a taiyaki with red bean paste for 220 yen and another with cream for 220 yen. They were different from regular taiyaki with tails attached. The skin was thin and filled with plenty of red bean paste up to the tail. However, the balance between the sweetness of the red bean paste and the skin was not to my liking. It was too sweet, and the flavor of the red beans was hard to distinguish despite being labeled as domestically sourced.

Eating curry warms up my stomach, but my mouth is burning? The depths of my stomach are spicy. When it comes to curry, it's usually paired with chai or lassi, but in front of me was a taiyaki. It's fine. There are two types: red bean paste and cream. When you think of Kanda Daruma, you think of the wings. The wings are crispy and have a good bite, while the red bean paste is soft and sweet, creating a nice balance. You can order it freshly baked, but today I didn't have any particular preference so I just got the ready-made one. My stomach, warmed by the spices of the curry, was further warmed by the warmth of the red bean paste. I like that the red bean paste is not too sweet. Whenever I come across a taiyaki or a baked sweet potato shop, I can't resist. It's the best part of a cold day.

The cream-filled taiyaki with wings was delicious. The cream was just the right amount of sweetness, the taiyaki dough was fluffy, and the wings were crispy. Eating warm taiyaki in the cold weather is truly a happy experience. Next time, I want to try the red bean paste filling.

This is a taiyaki shop with 7 locations in Tokyo and 1 in Saitama. They offer a unique taiyaki with wings, resembling a fossil specimen. I ordered the red bean taiyaki for 180 yen (tax included) and satisfied my sudden craving for something sweet while walking. The wing part was crispy and crunchy, while the thin skin and generous filling made it not only visually appealing but also delicious. At this price including tax, I think it's a satisfying treat. Thank you for the meal!

For takeout. The filling was custard (200 yen). The winged one was voluminous and felt like a good deal. The taste was just ordinary. The custard was not too sweet, just right. It was for takeout, so the skin was a bit soggy, so I won't evaluate that. The thickness of the skin was just right, not too thick or too thin. It was a very ordinary taiyaki. Thank you for the meal! 🌟

Every time I passed by in my car, I've been curious for years. Today, I was walking from Ueno Okachimachi Station to Kanda Shrine with my child, and when we passed by in the morning, the store was not open. But on our way back, it was open. We had already passed by, but when my child said he wanted to try it, we went back and bought one custard cream pastry (200 yen) and sat on the bench outside the store to eat it. I prefer red bean paste over cream, so I took a small taste. The pastry was crispy and had a good texture. The cream inside was also very delicious! It's just very sweet... I think it's a taste that cream lovers would adore. My child also thought it was delicious and ended up eating the whole thing by himself. Next time, I'll try the red bean paste. Looking forward to it! On our way out, when I said "thank you for the meal" to the young male staff member, he smiled and replied, "Thank you very much." It's a really lovely store!

I was walking from Ueno towards Akihabara when I stumbled upon a taiyaki shop near the Suehirocho intersection that sells taiyaki with wings attached! The price for a taiyaki with red bean paste filling is 180 yen, while the custard cream filling costs 200 yen. I decided to get the red bean paste one. The taiyaki had wings attached and was freshly baked, giving it a crispy texture. The shop is called Taiyaki Kanda Tatsudharma and they have a total of 6 branches, including one in Akihabara. It's a great place for a quick snack when you're out and about.

Today, after lunch, I took a stroll around Akihabara. I visited a taiyaki shop that I had been curious about for a while. It's called Taiyaki Kanda Daruma, known for their taiyaki with wings. The shop is located on the corner of a crossroad in Akihabara, making it easy to spot. They offer two types of taiyaki: "anko" (red bean paste) and "cream," and you can order just one. I decided to try the traditional anko taiyaki. It came in a square shape with wings and was wrapped in paper for easy eating. It was filled with plenty of red bean paste and was delicious while still hot. It was a perfect dessert after lunch. I really enjoyed it.

On January 13, 2018 (Saturday) at 12:01, in front of the shop... (^ω^) After eating una-don, we came to this shop (dragged by my wife's separate stomach).
Taiyaki (red bean paste) for 180 yen: The hot taiyaki had a crispy outer shell and the red bean paste was rich and delicious.
Taiyaki (custard cream) for 200 yen: The cream was rich and tasty!
Strawberry Daifuku for 1 piece 240 yen, pack for 480 yen: A red and white daifuku with a strawberry on top, it looked very appealing. Both the white bean paste and red bean paste were delicious! (^O^)

I stopped by around 1:30 pm. There was no wait, so I quickly purchased some sweet potato-filled taiyaki. The taiyaki was hot and filled with plenty of sweet potato filling. It's perfect for eating on the go. I recommend it for when you're feeling a bit peckish.
