Hello everyone❗ When I called the branch in June 2023, they said they were renovating, so I decided to go to Eiraku-ten where the manager is also present. Today, I had delicious sushi, including grilled silver cod, grilled clams, corn tempura, grilled sweetfish, and vinegar miso sushi. The neighboring customer seems to be a regular at the branch, but they are enjoying the different but equally delicious sushi here. The quality is great, and the price is about half of what you would pay at the branch. It's a great opportunity to enjoy the manager's skills at a more affordable price. It was delicious. Yanagi-san. When I get lost in Kitashinchi late at night, I often choose this place. The sushi pieces are quite large and satisfying. The dancing shrimp that moves energetically often comes out. I like that you can eat as much as you want from the à la carte menu, and the service is quick, so it's one of my favorite restaurants.

I happened to come across a sushi restaurant while walking by, and the seafood chirashi and eel tamagoyaki set caught my eye. It was advertised as a set with plenty of volume. Although I originally planned to go to a different restaurant, I decided to change my mind and enter this one. The sushi restaurant had a unique curved counter layout, which was reassuring for COVID-19 prevention measures. Nowadays, infection control is just as important as hygiene. The seafood chirashi and eel tamagoyaki set cost 1,500 yen and came with a side of cold salad, udon noodles, and dessert. The exterior and menu only had text descriptions without any photos, so I had to imagine what the eel tamagoyaki would look like. I was expecting something like eel sushi rolls or rolled egg omelet with eel, but it turned out to be egg omelet with cucumber sushi rolls. The chirashi sushi was served in a small dish, which was disappointing considering I was expecting a generous portion. The udon noodles came in a large bowl, which was unexpected since there were no photos in the menu. Although it was a lunch at a sushi restaurant, I ended up feeling full from the udon noodles. The price of 1,500 yen seemed a bit high for what I got, and I left feeling unsatisfied. I should have gone for a sushi lunch instead.

It was a hot and humid day outside, so I decided to have some refreshing and easy-to-eat sushi. I had the chef's choice sashimi, grilled kinmedai with vinegar, tempura of young ayu, pickled white melon, nigiri sushi, and melon for dessert. It was early, so there were fewer customers and partitions between tables, which made me feel safe and enjoy my sushi. It was nice to taste the flavors of the season. I left it to the chef and enjoyed a delicious meal tailored to my preferences. Thank you for the feast. Thank you very much.

During lunchtime, I happened to pass by and decided to enter the restaurant. I chose the 8-piece nigiri set. The set came with red miso soup and udon, so I opted for the udon. I got to pick 8 pieces of nigiri from options like white fish, tuna, scallop, salmon roe, shirako, red shrimp, scallop, squid, eel, conger eel, yellowtail, and mackerel. I chose white fish, tuna, scallop, salmon roe, red shrimp, scallop, eel, and conger eel. The vinegar in the rice was a bit strong. All the sushi was delicious. The udon was okay, should have gone with the red miso. As expected from a sushi restaurant in Shinchi, the service was impeccable.

Today, in the morning, I had a meeting in Nakanoshima and then delivered some items to a certain location in Kitashinchi at Avanza. I finished around noon because I have other errands in the afternoon. Since I came all the way to Kitashinchi, why not have a delicious lunch? I decided to visit "Sushidokoro Otowa Kitashinchi Eiraku-ten" which I used to frequent for business before everything changed. This was my first time having lunch here, and it seems quite popular. I sat at the counter and ordered: - Chef's choice 10-piece sushi set... 2,500 yen (tax included) It's been a while since I was in Kitashinchi, so I splurged a bit. First, a salad and a mini tempura plate arrived. The tempura was delicious even though it was just a small portion! Then came the chef's choice sushi: cherry snapper, striped jack, bluefin tuna, squid, red shrimp, house-made marinated mackerel, salmon roe, scallop, steamed conger eel with salt and wasabi, fatty tuna hand roll with seaweed. Lastly, a dessert of small mango jelly. I was quite satisfied with the sushi for the price, although I wish they had offered red miso soup instead of salad. - Premium 8-piece sushi set... 2,000 yen (tax included) My companion ordered this set, which also came with a choice of red miso soup. You could choose 8 pieces of sushi from a selection. The chosen ones were cherry snapper, striped jack, bluefin tuna, squid, red shrimp, scallop, eel, conger eel. The cherry snapper was the most delicious, which I also agreed with. "Sushidokoro Otowa Kitashinchi Eiraku-ten" has finished the prioritized measures for preventing the spread, so maybe it's time to visit for dinner as well. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I was called in by a sushi restaurant in Kitashinchi and ended up entering because I didn't have much time. I ordered 8 pieces of my favorite sushi and either red miso soup or udon for 1000 yen (tax included). The red miso soup was quite flavorful. For sushi, I asked for tuna, sea bream, salmon, squid, salmon roe, shrimp, egg, and conger eel. They were all delicious, freshly made in front of me. For dessert, it looks like a egg yolk but it's actually melon jelly. It's a good amount for women, but might be a bit small for men.

Sushi restaurant "Onba" in Kitashinchi Eiraku store (Kitashinchi, Kita-ku, Osaka City). Had lunch in Shinchi. I was walking around aimlessly when I saw a flyer being handed out on the street corner. It was a flyer for Onba Sushi, offering a choice of 8 pieces of nigiri sushi for 1000 yen. This must be fate. Let's give it a try. The small restaurant only has counter seats. The open counter is covered with clear vinyl for proper infection control. When I sat down, there was a paper for ordering, where you choose 8 pieces of sushi you want to eat. They make and serve each piece one by one. I felt luxurious. First, a red miso soup was served, followed by white fish, amberjack, lean tuna, salmon (you can choose seared or raw), octopus, salmon roe, and finally eel. My favorites were white fish, amberjack, salmon, and eel. As I was about to leave and return to the office, they brought a complimentary almond jelly dessert, saying it's not on the menu. I went to a new area in Kitashinchi and, thanks to the generous support, I made it to lunch time at 12:30. I aimed for two very popular places, but unfortunately they were sold out. It seems that these super popular restaurants are either fully booked or sold out right at opening time on weekdays. With a heavy heart, I was considering going to Yoshinoya, but then I stumbled upon this place! I tried their November limited lunch special, the "Sushi Restaurant Staff Meal Bowl Set (staff meal bowl, small side dish, red miso soup included)." Here are my thoughts: - Red miso soup: a comforting and gentle flavor. - Small side dish (simmered octopus): amazing texture! - Staff meal bowl: it was truly a paradise of textures. It had large, plump ikura, tuna, anago, sea bream, squid, horse mackerel, shrimp, salmon, herring roe, and egg on top of perfectly seasoned sushi rice. You don't even need to add soy sauce as the flavors are already perfectly balanced. The freshness of the fish and eggs was outstanding and incredibly delicious. This kind of exciting seafood bowl, or "staff meal bowl," is a first for me and truly represents the taste of a prestigious restaurant. Among all the seafood bowls in Kitashinchi, this one stands out as a texture paradise! While it's usually a one-time experience, I will definitely come back for another round before the end of the month.

I used to frequent this sushi restaurant a lot in my previous job. Even during the current pandemic, they are open for lunch. After finishing work on a weekday, I decided to walk from my workplace in Honmachi to Umeda Station, which is about 2 stations away. I wanted to increase my daily step count as my sedentary lifestyle and lack of exercise have caused me to gain weight, and I don't want to become any more unattractive. I also want to avoid receiving emotional abuse from my family. So, I set a minimum goal of walking 10,000 steps a day. On a beautiful autumn day with a clear sky, I walked to the restaurant where the staff warmly greeted me. They recommended their lunch menu, so I was seated at the counter. The menu options were as follows: - Choose your own sushi set (8 pieces): 1,000 yen - Seafood chirashi set: 1,500 yen - Special sushi set: 2,500 yen - Chef's special 10-piece set: 2,800 yen - Sushi chef's lunch special (limited to 15 servings): 1,200 yen I immediately ordered the limited-time lunch special. It turned out to be quite satisfying. First, I was served a generous seafood bowl and miso soup. Then, a freshly made and hot dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) was presented. The seafood bowl was topped with a luxurious selection of squid, eel, shrimp, tuna, herring, turban shell, egg, salmon roe, seasoned kelp, sea pineapple, and pickled burdock root, with wasabi and pickled ginger on the side, and sprinkled with white sesame seeds. I savored it with a sprinkle of soy sauce using a wooden spoon. The miso soup was delicious with plenty of yellowtail. The dashimaki tamago was perfectly fluffy and hot. I realized once again that freshly made dishes are the best. As a final surprise, a dessert that was not listed on the menu was served. It was a mango pudding with yogurt and topped with blueberry sauce. I felt like I got more than I paid for, considering how satisfied I was with the lunch. I chatted with the restaurant manager, and it seems that they will be able to serve alcohol from October onwards. I hope that the uncertain government decisions won't disrupt this. I believe that alcohol is essential for sushi dining. Thank you for the delicious meal.

At lunchtime, while casually walking around, I heard an enticing offer of "8 pieces of sushi with red miso soup and udon for only 1000 yen." I couldn't resist and ended up going in. You can choose your favorite 8 pieces of sushi, and they are served one by one. They were all delicious, but I was particularly happy when they cut the tamago (egg) sushi before serving it. I was completely satisfied with the 8 pieces, but you can add an extra piece for 100 yen each. The lunch came with dessert too, making it a great value meal.

This shop seemed to be closed earlier than usual on Saturday around 11 am. Many shops were closed or seemed to be preparing for lunch at 11:30 am or 12:30 pm. Since I had plans later, I couldn't wait until 12 pm, so I went to this shop that was already open. It was a decent place, similar in rank to the shops in Lucua. The lunch set recommended by the manager was pretty good.

On the second day of my business trip to Osaka and Kobe, I had dinner in Osaka with my client. We went to "Sushidokoro Otowa Kitashinchi Eiraku-ten." The restaurant is located near Kitashinchi Station on the JR Tozai Line. It is a small place with only a kitchen and a counter, where the chef and the showcase are located. We sat at the counter in the back. We started with a toast with beer and then proceeded to order our favorite dishes from the menu, which included about 15 types of sashimi and sushi and about 10 types of grilled fish, all with the place of origin listed. We ordered the following dishes as sake accompaniments: - Live octopus (Kagawa): The octopus was probably briefly blanched and immediately chilled in ice water, served beautifully with grated yuzu on top. The texture and mild umami flavor were exceptional. - Sashimi assortment: A selection of "striped jack (Kochi)," "amberjack (Kochi)," "cockle (Osaka)," and "tuna (Aomori)." Each of us had a portion of this assortment, paired with Japanese sake such as "Kureharu Ikeda Sake," "Shunka Junmai Karakuchi," "Kasumi Tsuru Nama Kimoto Karakuchi," and "Shunka Junmai Ginjo." - Conger eel (Awaji): We couldn't miss having conger eel while in Kansai during this season. This dish also had grated yuzu on top. Although the eel had a decent thickness, the live octopus stole the show tonight. - Grilled sweetfish (Awaji): Since we were trying grilled dishes, we also ordered my favorite sweetfish. The grilling was perfect, and the fish was delicious. - Nigiri sushi: Finally, we enjoyed some nigiri sushi, including "marinated tuna (Aomori)," "vinegared mackerel (Wakayama)," and "seared barracuda (Hiroshima)." Each piece was seasoned and ready to eat as is. The seared barracuda was a new and flavorful experience for me. The chef was very engaging and made the atmosphere friendly, allowing us to have a lively conversation with my client. Despite being located in the bustling Kitashinchi district, the restaurant had an authentic feel, was reasonably priced, and was easy to access. I would love to visit again. Sushidokoro Onba in Osaka Kita-Shinchi. This is a night-time restaurant, but due to the new coronavirus situation, they are also open for lunch for a while (lucky!). The interior is surprisingly spacious. I decided to try the chirashi sushi instead of the usual 8-piece nigiri. The chirashi has small pieces of various toppings, but you get a lot of them, making it a great deal. It feels like there is about 1.5 times more toppings than the nigiri. There is a lot of salmon in it. It comes with yuzu sherbet at the end for 1000 yen. It's definitely worth it. I wonder how long they will continue serving this.

Since the state of emergency was lifted, more and more restaurants that used to only operate at night are now offering lunch service. One such restaurant that started serving lunch from May 18th is Sushidokoro Otowa in Kitashinchi. When you walk down the street, you'll find it in the Otoya Sushi building, located near Osaka Station in the Osaka Ekimae Building No. 3. The lunch menu displayed outside includes a daily selection of nigiri sushi (8 pieces) with a side of red miso soup for 900 yen (tax included), seafood bowl with red miso soup for 900 yen (tax included), option to change red miso soup to udon for 950 yen, add tempura to the red miso soup set for 1200 yen, or choose your favorite 8 pieces of sushi with red miso soup or udon for 1000 yen (tax included). The restaurant has only counter seating, and the interior is decorated with a unique design. COVID-19 prevention measures are in place, with seats spaced out and dividers between the kitchen and customers. When seated, they provide alcohol disinfectant for sanitization. I ordered a selection of nigiri sushi with udon, choosing toppings like lean tuna, shrimp, mackerel, sea bream, amberjack, herring roe, eel, and salmon roe. The warm udon was a nice choice. It's great that you can choose your favorite toppings. Another customer who came later ordered lean tuna and other options, so they offer a variety of choices. I also asked for extra wasabi on the side, which I recommend for those who like it. The wasabi was indeed on the mild side. It was a satisfying meal. Kitashinchi, known for its nightlife atmosphere, may be greatly impacted by news of a potential second wave of COVID-19, similar to what's happening in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This shop stays open late, so it's easy to drop by on a whim. When you come to Kitashinchi, it's essential to visit several places for food and drinks. I've visited this place many times, but I usually go for the final meal, so my memories are a bit hazy. This time, I visited for the first time as the first stop. The interior has a unique counter with only 18 seats. There are several skilled sushi chefs. They are all friendly, and you can enjoy casual conversations with them. When the conversation flows, so does the amount of sake consumed. We were served simmered eggplant as a starter. The sashimi included lean tuna, bonito, and sea bream. I had the usual red and white sake. And the usual grilled sweetfish. I ordered some sake at this point, and the pace picked up quickly. I had only 6 pieces of sushi. The rice was well-shaped, and the horse mackerel was particularly delicious. Finally, I had minced tuna and green onion. I drank too much for a first stop. Next time, I'll go to the annex after a long time. Thank you for the meal.
