Formerly located further down the shopping street, closer to Okada Shrine, there was a yakiniku restaurant that had been around for many years. It has now relocated to the area next to Family Mart, just a short walk from Kurosaki Station. This restaurant offers yakiniku cooked over charcoal and shichirin at a reasonable price. They do not serve lunch, but open in the evening, and they offer set meals so you can easily enjoy yakiniku alone. Inside, there are counter seats right as you enter, and raised tatami seating and sunken kotatsu seating in the back on both sides. They offer only one type of set meal. The set meal also includes charcoal and shichirin. I was wondering how the customer flow would be now that they have moved to the second floor, but as I was eating, reservation customers kept coming in one after another, showing that this local favorite is still going strong. The set meal (1100 yen) includes loin, hormone, rice, wakame soup, and kimchi. The loin had a good amount of fat and thickness. The hormone was a mix of different types and quite generous in portion. The liver was tender and not gamey. The sauce was on the richer side, which might get a bit heavy after a while. The rice was cooked just right, soft and fluffy. The kimchi was quite spicy. The tongue (715 yen) is a great deal starting from around 600 yen before tax. I wasn't expecting much in terms of portion at this price, but it was almost as much as a 1000 yen serving. It had a decent thickness and was tender. The staff, surprisingly, were mostly foreigners, which was quite a contrast for a yakiniku restaurant that has been around in Kurosaki for a long time. They were all cheerful and friendly, providing great customer service. I would definitely want to visit again. They have a decent selection of drinks, and overall, the prices are reasonable, with soft drinks being the most affordable. Even ordering individual items is reasonably priced. They accept PayPay as well.
