It was unexpectedly my first visit. I was surprised to find such a convenient place with such a lovely space. Once inside, it felt like Paris. There are many paintings on display as well. I couldn't stay long this day as my next meeting was approaching, but it seems there is also a space downstairs for individual exhibitions. I look forward to visiting again soon.

It was like a Showa era coffee shop hidden behind Avanza. They only serve lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so I decided to take a chance and go there. When I entered, a lady who seemed like the owner was saying something in the back. She then told me to go downstairs. I was surprised to find out there was a basement. The master came out to greet me. The place had table seats like a snack bar and box seats. I wonder if they also have karaoke at night? There were paintings on the walls being sold at high prices. The lunch cost 1200 yen. First, I got an egg and tomato salad, which turned out to be a boiled egg. Then, a warm minestrone-like soup with beans was served with a loud "ding" sound. The beautifully seared hamburger came next with a slice of baguette, which I found a bit strange since I was really hungry. Finally, I had sherbet, brownie, and coffee for dessert. It was a nice meal.

This is a shop next to Dojima Avanza. The nearby shops had already finished lunchtime, but when I asked, they let me in. Of course, it was like having the place to myself. The spacious underground interior provides a calm and isolated feeling from the hustle and bustle. The lunch costs 1,200 yen per person, which may be a bit high for a salaryman's lunch, but the cost performance is good. It was delicious.

I missed lunchtime and was struggling to find a place to eat in Kita-Shinchi. It was too hot and I didn't feel like walking anymore, so I thought any place would do. I happened to pass by a restaurant and they let me in even though it was almost closing time, which made me happy. The lunch was around 1200 yen and it was delicious. ☺️

Located at Casa La Pavoni in Nakanoku, Osaka City, on the 1st floor of Maekawa Building, this Pub & Cafe offers Cafetime from Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 to 14:00, and Pubtime from Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 24:00 (last order at 23:00). The Saloon (B1 party room) requires reservations and is available from 13:00 to 18:00, with reservations on weekends and holidays. The establishment also has a gallery where art exhibitions and events are held. The cafe serves a limited menu focused on coffee, with options such as hand drip coffee for 400 yen. The interior of the cafe exudes a Parisian atmosphere, with a chic and cozy salon space. The decor and ambiance reflect a modernist style, with various Parisian-inspired ornaments scattered throughout. The establishment has a rich history, starting with the owner's grandfather operating a cafe in Osaka's Koryo Bridge area, serving unique barrel-aged beer and using an espresso machine from the Italian company La Pavoni. The cafe has a connection to the famous Rounge La Pavoni in Nishinomiya, which was frequented by notable figures such as Endo Shusaku, Nosaka Akiyuki, and Komatsu Sakyo. Despite being destroyed in the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake, the cafe was reopened by the owner's granddaughter in 1996, continuing the legacy of the family business. The review also mentions the modern and striking appearance of the nearby Dojima Yakushi Temple, adding to the overall charm of the area.

It is said that the beautiful madam's grandfather first started "La Pavoni" at Takarabashi in Osaka. During the lovely era from the Taisho to Showa period, they introduced Italian Pavoni espresso machines. The restaurant was named after the company, but it's amazing to think that they were already serving espresso coffee and draft beer nearly 100 years ago. The restaurant closed temporarily and was reopened in 1934 in Amagasaki by the madam's great uncle, the Western-style painter, Kojiro Oishi. He later established the "Art Garden" in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, as a cultural hub, attracting many talented individuals. The restaurant even appears in the novel "Grave of the Fireflies" by Akiyuki Nosaka. After the devastating Hanshin-Awaji earthquake, the founder's granddaughter, Hideko Fukui, revived the restaurant as "Casa La Pavoni" in Dojima in 1996. I stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant on a cold, rainy day in North Shinsaibashi, and was impressed by its Parisian cafe-like ambiance. The elegant madam runs the place with a few sophisticated regular customers. I enjoyed a hot coffee in a beautiful cup and explored the gallery downstairs with peacock-themed stained glass. The restaurant closes at 2 pm, and I was the only customer left. The staff shared various stories with me, making my visit truly memorable.

I passed by this place before and was intrigued by its charming exterior, even though it was closed at the time. After searching online, I found a website that talked about its ancient history and read reviews from a reviewer named ☆み~さん. Today, I finally walked up the porch and opened the blue-painted door. A bell chimed to announce my arrival. Inside, the space was long and narrow, with dim lighting, numerous paintings on the walls, and a peacock stained glass window. The female owner greeted me and suggested I sit at the counter. It seemed like the other customers were regulars. I ordered a hot coffee for 400 yen, which was freshly brewed in front of me. When I asked for permission to take photos, I was shown the downstairs area as well, which was a delight. The staircase leading downstairs was decorated tastefully, and the room below had a long sofa and a piano. It seemed like this was where music performances and parties were held. The gallery had a strong foreign atmosphere, with a rich blend of art and background music creating a high sense of artistic flair.

In the early Showa period, a grandfather started a shop in Kobe, which has now been taken over by his son and is currently run by a lovely smiling mama. It has been 17 years since the business started. The grandfather was also a painter, and his paintings are displayed in the shop. The cafe mainly serves drinks using blends of Hagihara Coffee beans, offering only one type of espresso blend. They will adjust the strength of the coffee to your preference. The espresso machine is manual, and the shop's name "Casa La Pavoni" comes from this machine. It is a stylish and chic name. Enjoy a delicious coffee and engaging conversation with the cheerful mama. Coffee costs 400 yen, while espresso costs 450 yen.

Recently, my friend ○○-cho expressed concern about my extravagant spending habits and put a stop to it. It's like a boss stop instead of a doctor's stop. If I could stop just because you told me to, I would have stopped a long time ago on my own. When I get drunk, a show-off alien takes over me by unzipping my back zipper. It's not me, it's the alcohol. If you want to preach, preach to all the alcohol in the world. We had this conversation at a charming cafe across from Avancer Tohoku, where they have a deep love for paintings. I momentarily felt like I was in Shinchi because of the old-fashioned pure coffee shop. It's a place for people who can't relax at cafes to have a peaceful conversation. The quiet background music flows gently, creating a lovely atmosphere for conversation. After listening carefully to the lecture earlier, I learned that when ○○-cho goes out drinking with my juniors, because I spend so much money, it is "natural" for ○○-cho to treat them. And that "natural" bothers him. He thinks it's a waste of money. ...I'm angry!!! Be careful with that black wallet sticking out of your back pocket. Watch out for butt harassment and empty it out!!!

There is a building behind Dojima Avanza with a cabin-style facade and an azure (Italian sky blue) door. The door, located a few steps up a wooden staircase, appears somewhat solemn, making one hesitant to open it unless they have a strong curiosity. The door opens inward, unlike the usual outward-opening doors in Japan, adding to the hesitation. Behind the door, the space functions as a cafe during the day and a bar serving delicious whiskey at night. The name of the establishment is "Casa la Pavoni," which means "Peacock House" in Italian. Despite the flashy image that may come to mind from the name, the interior is designed with a calming atmosphere, reflecting the feminine sensibility of the owner, Hideno. Paintings and lithographs are displayed throughout, creating a mini-gallery experience. The name of the establishment is derived from the Italian espresso machine "Pavoni." Hideno's grandmother, the late wife of the renowned Western painter Toshiichi Oishi, was the first owner of the establishment, which originally operated in Shukugawa but relocated to Dojima after collapsing in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Occasionally, one can pass through this blue door that seems to lead to the endlessly bright sky of Italy.
