Thick ramen and simmered to perfection. It's the second half of Golden Week. My wife was tired, so I suggested taking our daughter out to play, but she declined... I now understand how fathers feel when they want to play golf on their day off. So, I decided to explore a ramen shop alone. I went to a popular ramen shop that my family couldn't visit before. I arrived about 15 minutes before opening time, and there were already 4 customers ahead of me. I joined the line and waited, while a girl around the same age as my daughter was serving tea to customers. She must be helping out at the shop during Golden Week. Since I was alone this time, I decided to go all out and ordered the No.1 popular item at the ticket machine inside the shop. It was the "Thoroughly Half Set" for 1200 yen. The shop only had counter seats, and I was guided to the seat at the far end. The Thoroughly Half set included a meatball rice bowl, with diced chashu, chopped seaweed and green onions, and fried onions, all mixed with the yolk for a delicious taste. The ramen was a rich chicken broth with fish powder and chili, which needed to be mixed well from the bottom before eating. The noodles were flat and perfectly combined with the soup. It was a very delicious bowl of ramen. As I was leaving, the girl from the shop came out and thanked me politely, asking me to visit again. On the way home, I thought I should postpone my weekend golf plans a little longer.

Half set for 1200 yen. Fushimi's Doro Doro is temporarily closed, and the prestigious shop near the market will be closing in September. I came here after a long time. This time I ordered the spicy one and the one with fish powder. The main dish was the meatball rice bowl. It had egg yolk, chashu, green onions, and fried onions. The ramen had plenty of chashu, menma, and double green onions on top of thick noodles. The base soup is rich, so if you're not a fan of that, the taste might not be for you. The staff's attention to detail is unmatched by other shops. It's rich and heavy, but the noodles are also amazing. If you don't like fish powder, definitely skip it. For those who like spicy, go for the red option, and for fish powder lovers, go for the fish option. As for mixing noodles, do as you please. The parking lot for the shop has space for two cars one block north. If lucky, there may be additional parking available, and the staff will guide you there. It's rare to find such kindness and attention to detail in a shop. Of course, the ramen with its intense flavor is amazing for those who love rich broth.

Thank you for always providing delicious menus. The cold mixed noodles were also delicious. Mixing the cold ingredients with warm rice for the finishing touch was great! It paired perfectly with curry as well.

This time, I ordered a half portion for the first time. I wanted to savor the soup until the end, so I chose a regular size so I wouldn't get too full with noodles. The soup seems like it would go well with rice as well, but I'm afraid I won't be able to finish it. I've also recently given up on the famous meatball bowl for the same reason. Now, as for the taste of the ramen... I had an idea of what it would be like, but the combination with fish powder is really good. This was a discovery. I'll go for the half portion again next time!

I found out that the restaurant started night business for a limited time from August 8th, so I drove there after work and arrived around 8:40 pm. I parked my car in one of the two parking spaces and entered the restaurant. I purchased a ticket for the "Tokoton Half" (950 yen) that I hadn't tried yet and was seated at the counter. The bowl was filled with chashu, white negi (green onion), menma (bamboo shoots), and chopped negi, with fish powder and chili powder sprinkled on the soup. First, I vigorously mixed the noodles with the soup to blend the flavors. The soup was a super rich chicken white broth, thick and creamy, but not heavy, with a savory fish powder and a hint of spiciness from the chili. The thick flat noodles had a good chewiness and a sticky texture, which paired well with the rich and creamy soup. I added some raw garlic, which intensified the flavor even more, giving me a boost of stamina. The chashu was served in two slices and was delicious on its own or dipped in the soup. After the meal, I enjoyed a lemon tea as a complimentary service, refreshing my palate before leaving the restaurant. According to their official Instagram, the night business during the summer is limited, but there may be an extension.

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday around 13:20. The weather was sunny. There were two groups ahead of me with a total of 5 people waiting. The restaurant was full, and when I left, there were 4 people waiting outside. It took about 12 minutes from lining up to receiving my bowl of ramen. The ramen had a thick and delicious chicken white broth, with a rich and creamy texture. Despite being rich, it wasn't too salty and didn't make me thirsty. The straight noodles had a nice wheat aroma and a good chewy texture that paired well with the soup. The large slices of chashu were flavorful and meaty. The white and green onions added a fresh and crunchy texture, while the menma had a good crunch and tasty seasoning. I ordered garlic halfway through, which added a nice punch to the flavor. Overall, the ramen was really delicious, and I will definitely be coming back. The restaurant is located about a 7-minute walk from Tofukuji Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line. They are open from 11:00 to 15:00, with evening hours from 18:30 to 21:00 from August 8th to mid-September (until 22:00 during Obon). They are closed on Mondays and have free parking for 2 cars.

I ordered the half fish and chili dish. It was super rich and incredibly delicious. The menma (bamboo shoots) were really thick! They refilled my water frequently and even gave me complimentary iced tea and oolong tea. This place has great service and it's no wonder it's popular. I definitely want to go back.

In the early afternoon, I went when it was a bit calmer, and the staff's customer service was fantastic! I enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea service and iced tea, which were both excellent refreshing drinks after the meal. The ramen was also delicious. Overall, it was a nice restaurant that made me want to come back again.

My family had some business in Kyoto, so I drove them there. While waiting for them to finish, I went to Tontontorikotokoto by myself. It was just before 12 o'clock on a Sunday, so there were about 6 people in line. It was a shop where you buy your meal tickets before lining up. The temperature was quite high, but the staff were handing out cold water to the people waiting in line. There seemed to be a parking lot, but I parked at a nearby parking area. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I was seated inside the restaurant. The menu had three options: chicken, red, and fish, and since it was Tontontori, I chose the chicken. I went for the special Tontontori chicken (1250 yen) with lots of chashu and toppings. The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. It was a special dish with plenty of chashu and green onions, very filling. The soup was thick and rich, just the type of ramen I like. The noodles were well coated with the soup and delicious. The abundance of green onions added a nice flavor when mixed with the soup. There was a sign outside the shop saying to ring the chicken toy if you enjoyed your meal, but I didn't have the courage to do so. Thank you for the meal.

There were four types of noodles to choose from, one of which was mixed noodles. The rest were rich ramen. I had the mixed noodles and my child had the regular ramen in the photo. The mixed noodles tasted good, but there were too many fried toppings that I couldn't finish, so my husband ate them. The staff were very kind! There was also a second-floor tatami seating area where we could relax. There were plenty of toys for children. The iced tea after the meal was sweet and delicious.

This is my second visit. I started to crave thick broth after not having it for a while. The soup is richer than Tenkaippin's. I had the spicy option last time, so this time I went with the default all-out chicken. Of course, I got the special version. As you can see in the photo, the bowl was covered with chashu. The taste was nostalgic. There was plenty of white and green onions, and the presentation was meticulous. The noodles had a nice firmness and surprisingly light, making it easy to finish. They also offered a drink service after the meal, and the staff's service was excellent.

After visiting Toji Temple, I felt like having ramen in Kyoto on my way back. It was past 12 o'clock and there were 5 people waiting in line. I ordered the chicken and meat rice bowl set. The meat rice bowl arrived first, and the staff told me to "mix it well" as they brought out the ramen. The ramen that came out had noodles that looked like they were floating on the soup. That's how thick the soup was, almost like curry or mapo tofu. It seemed to have garlic chips and dashi powder in it, so mixing it well allowed me to enjoy a well-balanced flavor. The soup coated the noodles well, so by the time I finished the noodles, there was hardly any soup left. It was rich but not greasy, and I enjoyed it a lot.

On the 21st of the month at Toji Temple, there is a flea market called Koboichi that attracts people looking for antiques. For lunch, I recommend this restaurant. I ordered the "Half & Half" (half bonito and half spicy) and the "Cheese Abura Soba" (with rice). The rich mixed noodles with cheese melted by a burner were delicious and went well with the rice. I preferred the spicy half, as the balance between the spicy and rich soup was perfect. The hostess provided great service, recommending ways to enjoy the flavors and offering complimentary cold tea. I expressed my satisfaction by making the chicken figurine sing, following the restaurant's rule. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely visit again.

This is my second visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken dishes. I was hesitant about ordering the meatball rice bowl because I might not be able to finish it, so I decided to skip it this time. It's great to be able to enjoy chicken soup nearby from home. The service at this restaurant is also good, and they even offer complimentary tea and iced tea. This time, I chose cold tea. They provide chopsticks and spoons individually instead of placing them all together on the table. Despite having parking space for only two cars, I still want to come back in the future. 🙂

The staff are efficient and friendly! They are attentive and the service is great. The ramen was a rich chicken broth, not as spicy as it looked in the photos, but both the noodles and soup were delicious. The iced tea after the meal was a nice touch! I would like to come back again.

"To the bottom, Tori Kotokoto" is the name of the restaurant. This was my first visit since January. I ordered the Tori Kotokoto Abura Soba for 850 yen, with an additional topping of cheese for 11 yen. I arrived around 11:09 and the restaurant was almost full. It took about 6 minutes until my order arrived. The toppings included diced chashu, green onions, fried garlic, half-seasoned egg, seaweed, seared cheese, and bamboo shoots. The noodles were flat, medium-thick straight noodles. I visited to enjoy the rich chicken white broth. They sear the cheese topping right in front of you with a burner, which is amazing. Now, onto the taste. The rich chicken white broth combined with the chewy noodles was heavy on the palate. The intense chicken flavor, the richness of the cheese, and the kick of the fried garlic created a bold and flavorful taste. The diced chashu was juicy and flavorful. The seaweed added a nice touch. I couldn't stop eating until I finished every last bit. I also had some iced tea after the meal. The service was outstanding as always, with a warm send-off as I left. It was delicious - thank you for the meal!"

However, it quickly became a nationwide sensation. It's a super famous ramen shop. I had some business in Shimogyo Ward, so I decided to drop by. It's cherry blossom season~. There are so many tourists at Toji Temple. It's a bit off the beaten path from the main spots. Kyoto's chicken white broth ramen. It's already famous for being thick and rich. Is there any other place that can beat this level of thickness? When you visit Kyoto Station for sightseeing, be sure to stop by here!! It's the best!

Today, I finally came to Tori Kotokoto near To-ji Temple, which I had been wanting to visit since before it opened. I thought it would be even spicier because it looked so rich, but it was actually easy to eat.

A shop with a strong impact where many noisy turkey toys welcome you. The interior is full of interesting gimmicks, although I didn't capture them in the photos, so if you're curious, please check it out. As for the ramen itself, the rich soup clings to the noodles so much that the ladle stands upright, reminiscent of a certain famous chicken. However, the flavor punch is much stronger than at another shop, and personally, I felt that I couldn't finish it without rice. I noticed a few people around me also ordering extra rice... haha. This is a unique dish that you don't see often in the Kansai region, but I probably won't come back. It really depends on personal taste. Actually, when I visited with 4 people, the other 3 were full of praise, haha. Anyway, thank you for the meal!

I wonder how much soup they are cooking since they couldn't go to Legal. It seems to be a popular and extreme chicken-based place, different from the Gokumi Valley. You can feel the trendy atmosphere throughout the restaurant. They serve tea after the meal, which is a nice touch. The service is polite, the interior is spacious, and it's a great restaurant.

I finally made it to this restaurant that I had been curious about after seeing other people's posts. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30. There was no wait, so I bought my meal ticket and was seated right away. There were a variety of menu options, but since it was my first time, I chose the "Tokoton Chicken" special (with all toppings) and the "Niku Tama Don." The ramen with rich, thick soup was a new experience for me, but it was really delicious. The chashu was tender and tasty, and I regretted not getting the large size. The Niku Tama Don had diced chashu, fried onions, and green onions, giving it a crunchy texture. It was also delicious, especially when mixed with the egg. Both the ramen and the don were delicious, and I was very satisfied. After the meal, I had the option of cold tea, hot tea, or iced tea, and I chose the iced tea. Despite the constant stream of customers, the staff's service was friendly and I had a great experience. Thank you for the meal.
