On a certain holiday in Otaru before the JR fare revision, there is a Western-style restaurant located along the Inaho 1-5 line that caught my eye as I passed by. The parking situation is unconfirmed. The interior of the restaurant is of a standard coffee shop size, with 5 counter seats and about 3 tables, giving off a calm atmosphere with a slightly dim and old wooden feel. However, on this particular day, all the customers seemed to be having a big photo shoot of their dishes. The background music is quietly playing piano jazz. From the menu on this day, I was captivated by the menu structure that truly reflects a Western-style restaurant, and my excitement grew as I couldn't decide, so I chose the "muse combo plate (1800 yen)" which seemed like it would satisfy my greedy feelings. I ordered an iced coffee as my drink from a kind-looking waitress. There was the sound of something being fried, then the sound of the air being released from the hamburger, probably the sound of the hamburger being cooked, and after a while... Ah! The advance team's soup arrived, and with a sip, the onion soup with a hint of mushroom flavor calmed my mind. Once again, the main dish arrived, and with a bite... Wow, the hamburger is a traditional and classic one, with a dense and firm "meat" of beef that can be enjoyed, and the slightly sweet and slightly bitter taste of the demi-glace sauce that gently yet firmly supports the hamburger is outstanding. It may sound strange, but even the texture was good. Next, the omelette rice was different from the usual, with a tall dark yellow omelette, and the presence of cheese mentioned in the menu was a mystery to me. Inside... Ah, it seemed to be a dish completed by combining this demi-glace sauce rather than the usual ketchup rice, with bacon, carrots, and green peppers as the ingredients. The broccoli, carrots, and potatoes soaked in the demi-glace sauce were also delicious. The carefully crafted demi-glace sauce is described as follows: "A sauce made by stewing plenty of collagen-rich beef tendon meat and plenty of vegetables, as well as red wine. We use homemade herbs for flavoring, and the sauce has been aged and replenished daily. It is our pride and joy." For dessert, warm zenzai with white rice cakes was good, and I finished my iced coffee. I realized that although it was a bit pricey, I was glad I ordered both the hamburger and the omelette rice. Thank you for the meal.
