On February 25, 2023, we finished a joint birthday party at "#Niku to ieba Matsuda Osaka store" at 7:00 p.m. and decided to have a light drink before parting ways as it was too early to head home. We walked 10 minutes and arrived at "Bar Takayama" on Unagidani Minami Street in Higashishinsaibashi, a place I had been invited to by a foodie friend from Kyoto several times before, but this was my first visit. The quaint interior of the small restaurant had an L-shaped counter where the four of us settled in. We ordered a Dewar's Highball with a charm for 1,700 yen, which came with a charm of a potato soup pineapple back. Next to the bar, there was a green amoji decoration, and the flower language of amoji is said to be "having many friends" due to the image of multiple blooms from one bud on a single twig, making it a fitting decoration for welcoming four friends. The hot "potato soup" sprinkled with black pepper was served first, and it was deliciously hot! As I watched the ice being cut into cubes with a knife, I enjoyed the homemade soup made by the owner, which was incredibly tasty. Lately, I have been drinking a lot of highballs, and earlier at the joint birthday party, I enjoyed a "Yamazaki Highball," but the Scotch whiskey Dewar's had a rich aroma and a balanced taste that I think pairs especially well with highballs. The pineapple charm was very sweet with a light acidity, serving as a perfect palate cleanser between meat and alcohol. After about 30 minutes, the ladies headed to Namba Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, while the two men took the Sakaisuji Line from Nagahoribashi Station to head home. Bon appétit! (●^o^●)

The bar has a calm and mature atmosphere, with striking blue accents. Spring is almost here. The flower language is "many friends" (maybe not suitable for me). Sitting at the counter, I ordered a Dewar's highball for 1700 yen. While waiting, I enjoyed a warm potato soup. The highball was ready, so cheers! Even though I was full from dinner, I felt like I could drink plenty of alcohol. I relaxed and enjoyed the complimentary pineapple snack. Thank you for the meal!

After enjoying a Bunraku performance, I decided to have a drink before heading home. It was a beautiful night with a full moon, and I found a nostalgic little bar with a lovely atmosphere. The kind bartender, the flowers, and the cozy counter made me feel at ease. The warm cabbage soup was comforting, and the familiar highball tasted rich and satisfying. I also had a perfectly boiled egg with anchovy sauce, followed by a gin rickey. We chatted about this and that, and I left feeling a bit tipsy as I caught the subway home. I had planned to visit one more bar, but I was too full. I will definitely come back to see the friendly bartender again.

"Bar Takayama" is a bar in Kyoto where a lady in a bright red long coat took me. It's a story from over 2 and a half years ago!! Back then, we didn't wear masks, and the coronavirus didn't exist in Japan yet... So many things have happened in the past 2 and a half years. I wonder what the next 2 and a half years will bring, as I opened the ivy-covered door. Tonight, I visited Chisen's memorable bar with my partner. The bar has a quiet ambiance with dim lighting, the master's deep voice, and the whispers of regular customers echoing. Tonight's arrangement featured Japanese pampas grass, evoking the beginning of autumn. Last time I visited during the Christmas season, the arrangement was English holly with rounded holly leaves. The natural flower arrangement in the bar is lovely, isn't it? (^_-)-☆◉ I love gin and tonic with a generous lime. The tall and slender cocktail glass is beautiful, but gin and tonic is my favorite♡ Recently, I've been enjoying "Midori Soda" (*´◒`*)◉ Laphroaig 10-year-old. My partner had Laphroaig with a medicinal scent like "Seirogan" diluted with water. It's a pretty smoky whisky from Islay, right? It's quite peaty, so I'm not a fan, but maybe I'll be able to drink it when I grow up a bit more. (*´罒`*) I love bars, but none of my favorite bars were selected in the recently announced "Top 100 Bars"! I wonder what criteria they use for selection! Thank you for the meal (*´▽`人)

After enjoying delicious yakitori, we ended the night at Bar Takayama, located right next to the restaurant. My companion had visited with the customer before and kept mentioning their name to the master, trying to impress. The bar had a few regular customers, and my companion was very lively that night, showing off. We tried the 10-year-old Laphroaig, which I wanted on the rocks but had it with water because I had work early the next day. Even with water, it was strong. The charm of this place is that they usually serve unexpected home-cooked dishes, but that night we had delicious boiled peanuts. The peanuts were large and perfectly salted, very tasty. The atmosphere was great, truly a sophisticated adult social spot. It's a perfect place for a final drink in the Minami area, especially in Shinsaibashi. Thank you for the meal!

The atmosphere at Okame-san's oden shop is still bright even when it's late. It would be a waste to leave early. I felt like talking to the master a bit. But be careful, their highball is very strong. I asked for it to be diluted. The Dewar's highball in a beautiful glass, with a vase of branches always looking lovely. Before and after watching Bunraku, I had drinks. I watched Bunraku, ate gyoza, and walked from Nihonbashi Kuromon to Shinsaibashi. Takayama-san's usual branch arrangements were beautiful. On this day, there were peony cherry blossoms blooming. Dewar's highball was strong and delicious. Amaral tomato was sweet and delicious. I wanted to drink a little more, so I had a gin and tonic, which was also strong and delicious. I chatted with the master for a bit and left early. I was feeling fine, but as soon as I got home, I started feeling dizzy. I had drunk makgeolli in the afternoon, along with gyoza and draft beer, and had two drinks here, so I became quite weak. It's sad and pathetic. Unknowingly, I fell straight into bed. It's still a bit chilly, so I slept in my clothes, but I woke up and changed into pajamas before going back to sleep.

Before the drinking party at Namba Station on the Sakaisuji Line of Osaka Metro, we had a quick drink to catch up and meet for the first time. We found ourselves in a cool bar in a mixed neighborhood with restaurants, offices, elementary schools, and a police station. It's a place favored by older sisters. As we entered, the older sister led the way, followed by two henchmen, and we were asked what we would like to drink. We all ordered Dewar's Highball x3 as usual. The glasses were beautifully standing and the ice sparkled beautifully in the amber-colored Dewar's. Dewar's is just right in this kind of atmosphere. It was a day when I worked and played in this area, and I unexpectedly ran into a friend I haven't seen in 7 years. We were so engrossed in our conversation that I forgot to admire the usual lovely decorations in the shop. I will definitely come back here when I visit Osaka again. Banana juice specialty store? The intriguing sign caught my attention. At night, it looks like a nice bar. Curious, I decided to visit. I've seen high-end bananas sold for 800 yen each, but this place is different. The counter seats only add to the charm of this place, making it a lovely spot. The lunch mats and banana decorations were cute. I asked if they only serve banana juice, and the staff showed me their menu full of banana juice variations. The standard is banana with milk, made with organic bananas and no sugar added. You can customize it with soy milk for an extra 80 yen, or with amazake for an extra 150 yen. You can also add toppings like cinnamon, black sesame, or kinako for an additional fee. The owner's wife, who runs this banana juice shop, came up with these variations out of love, inspired by making banana juice for her husband as a breakfast substitute after a night of drinking. The thought and care put into the menu is truly heartwarming. The shop is only open on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12pm to 3pm, but I might just have to find the time to visit again for a delicious banana juice made with love.
