I'm sorry for the harsh review after a long time... I used to frequent this place before they started the all-you-can-eat lunch. They used to have regular lunch menus, and even during Christmas, they had quite authentic dinner options with a drink bar that included pot-style herbal tea. Everything used to be delicious... Due to the pandemic, I had fewer chances to visit and I noticed they started the all-you-can-eat option. I decided to go for lunch after a long time, but to my surprise, the fried chicken for the all-you-can-eat was already sold out by noon... What? So, only the available menu items were part of the all-you-can-eat? We ended up ordering a la carte, but even the fried chicken as a single item was not available, and the freshly fried potato chips were also sold out. The set menus for 2 or 3 people seemed like a good deal, but most of the items required an additional fee, and there were few options to choose from the base price. We reluctantly ordered the Americaine pasta, foie gras and mushroom risotto, potato fries, pizza, and the drink bar for the number of people in our group. It seemed like there were more families taking advantage of the all-you-can-eat, making the place quite noisy, and the drink bar ran out quickly, with the staff constantly rushing around. There was no herb tea in the pot. The soup had no ingredients, and it had a sour taste... it was lukewarm. I left it. We waited for more than 20 minutes to get the potato fries, and 30 minutes later, we got the pizza. The potato fries and pizza were okay, we could eat them normally. The pasta... we waited for about 40 minutes, but when it arrived, it was disappointing... My husband, who is not a gourmet, immediately said, "Are the noodles overcooked?" and after taking a bite, he said, "Is this yakisoba??" The noodles were soft and mushy. It didn't look appetizing at all. The upper side of the noodles was stretched out and dry. Then, the risotto arrived, and the foie gras looked overcooked from the start. It seemed hard. After one bite, I thought, "I've never had foie gras like this before!" (in a bad way) It was too hard, and it turned into a pate-like consistency. The cooking completely killed the goodness of the foie gras. I usually don't leave food, but even though I ordered a large portion, I gave up after two bites. I'm sorry. I like foie gras. Honestly, this was the worst experience I've had so far. Maybe it's just luck of the draw with the kitchen staff. Also, when the foie gras risotto was being placed on the table, even though the table space was limited due to the round table, a female staff member was about to leave the plates where the pasta plate was overlapping the risotto plate, causing the risotto to be slanted. I quietly moved the plates to adjust, and she said, "Oh! Sorry!" Well, she's a student, so it can't be helped... she's just a part-time worker. She'll probably be more careful next time. Even the a la carte options seemed to have the quality of the all-you-can-eat, which was very disappointing. The interior of the restaurant was still stylish, so I guess it's more geared towards groups who care more about filling their stomachs than the taste and can chat without worrying about their surroundings. This is just my personal impression, and maybe there are some hits and misses with the increased number of staff and the time and cooking process. Maybe it was just bad because it was during the all-you-can-eat lunch time... I used to love this place, so I hope they can go back to their previous quality.
