I wanted to try the shime (finishing) ramen at Ramen Kio, so I visited the restaurant. I ordered ramen and fried rice. The fried rice was... extremely salty. It was surprisingly salty, so I only took two bites and left the rest. The ramen was okay. Thank you for the meal.

After going out for drinks with him, I suddenly wanted to eat ramen on the way back! We initially tried to go to Nikoku Ramen, which was close by, but even though there were empty seats, we were told that we couldn't be seated unless we sat in the front, so we ended up at Kameo Ramen! I couldn't help but order the summer limited cold oil noodles that caught my eye! He also wanted to eat it, so of course we got the large serving (lol). It was so delicious that I wanted to eat it all myself!! We tried to eat the big gyoza that was in the photo together, but we couldn't finish it all. Even though we were full by the third place, it was so delicious that I want to eat it again♪ However... the egg was hard-boiled and not the creamy, half-cooked egg I had imagined (tears). I thought about breaking it with my chopsticks, but it was too tough! I couldn't crack it! That was disappointing... I often encounter hard-boiled eggs at ramen shops... (tears) I wanted to eat a creamy, half-cooked seasoned egg... Did I just happen to be born under that kind of star??? But I often use this Kameo Ramen. Thank you for the meal!

On July 20, 2023 (Thursday) around 11:45 PM, I finally made it to Wano Kiwami Abura Soba and Half Jyan Jyan Don. I was feeling a bit peckish, but couldn't eat a lot... so I decided to go for a more subdued order! I ended up at a ramen shop after all... I thought I'd go for something light, but ended up ordering Abura Soba... and thinking of getting a smaller portion, I ordered a Half Don. I ate too much... I guess I'll have to give up on the train and make sure to have a proper meal before heading home! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located right in the middle of Umeda, just before turning onto Higashi-dori, is Kameo Ramen. During lunchtime, many Chinese customers visit, making it a lively spot. They offer a ramen and half-fried rice set for 980 yen during lunchtime! I ordered the thin noodles extra firm. The rich soup with plenty of lard is delicious. They accept electronic payments, but unfortunately do not accept Rakuten Pay.

Today's lunchtime was in the East Umeda area. I reunited with "Ramen Kio" after a long time during my ground patrol. I chose the "Ultimate Japanese Oil Soba" for 790 yen, which gathers ingredients from various regions in Japan. Unlike Kyushu oil soba, there is no additional charge for extra large 240g or extra extra large 320g servings! Today, I chose the extra extra large without hesitation. After a while, the bowl arrived. The visual presentation was simple yet beautiful. In the center, there was chopped seaweed, with bamboo shoots, chashu, chopped onions, and chopped green onions on the sides. At the bottom, there was plenty of Wakayama-produced Yawata soy sauce mixed with just the right amount of oil. The color of the noodles is dyed by the soy sauce, so the toppings are somewhat hidden. The 16mm thick noodles, combined with the scent of mackerel, soy sauce, bonito, and urume bonito, filled my mouth with a satisfying texture. Unfortunately, there was no vinegar or black pepper on the table for flavor enhancement. I finished it in no time. Grateful for another day of good health.

It's cold and I wanted to warm up & eat something rich in flavor. A for-Real, Mizuki Shoji here. Soy sauce tonkotsu ramen for ¥750. The tonkotsu flavor is prominent. You can choose the hardness of the noodles. You can order with a tablet and do self-checkout, very modern!

Hankyu various lines, 4 minutes walk from Osaka Umeda Station. A ramen shop located in the Hankyu Higashi-dori Shotengai. Operated by Daishinjitsu Co., Ltd. This brand has 16 stores in Japan, mainly in Osaka, and 3 stores in Singapore. Their signature dish is the salt tonkotsu ramen, but they are also known for being one of the first shops in Kansai to sell abura soba, with a strong commitment to popularizing this style. The "Abura Soba Shoyu" uses soy sauce from Wakayama's Yunasa Shoyu. The noodles are made from 100% domestic wheat from Hokkaido's Kitahonami. The broth is made with bonito flakes, mackerel flakes, and urume flakes, emphasizing high-quality ingredients. The thick curly noodles are topped with onions, green onions, menma, chopped nori, and chashu. The noodles are served slightly clumped together, cooked to a firm texture. The flavor is not exceptional, but the smooth texture is enjoyable. The sauce has a strong umami flavor from the bonito, giving it a seafood soy sauce taste. You can choose from 160g, 240g, or 320g of noodles, all at the same price, so opting for a larger portion feels like a good deal. A receipt with a barcode is handed to you when your order is served, and you can use it for self-checkout, making it a unique experience in a ramen shop. I found it convenient to be able to pay at my own pace.

Ramen shop located in the Higashi-dori Shotengai near Hankyu Umeda Station. It's been a while since I visited Kameo Ramen. They are known for their tonkotsu ramen, but I always order the Kyushu Abura Soba. This time, I ordered the Kyushu Abura Soba in large size. The sauce made of sweet and spicy fish oil and olive oil is rich but not greasy, and it goes well with the noodles, making it very delicious. I have tried various abura soba and maze soba, but this might be my favorite.

I felt like eating ramen and visited Kameo Ramen after a long time. The tonkotsu flavor is very delicious, with thin noodles. It's my favorite ramen. Personally, I like the simple Kameo Ramen. It's a light tonkotsu so it doesn't feel heavy later on. And I'm happy that the noodles are firm and easy to eat.

I visited "Ramen Kameo Hankyu Higashidori Store" around 11 pm on a certain day in March 2022. Located about a 3-4 minute walk from Higashi Umeda Station, this ramen shop is situated in the brightly lit Hankyu Higashidori Shopping Street. The cozy interior was about 70% full of customers. I sat alone at the counter and used the touch panel in front of me to place my order. I ordered the "Mukashi Aji (Chikara)" with fried garlic for ¥850. I also requested the free toppings of chopped garlic and pickled ginger. After a 5-minute wait, my ramen arrived. The "Mukashi Aji" had a mellow tonkotsu broth with thin noodles, perfect for a late-night meal after drinking. The large seared chashu, menma, nori, green onions, noodles, and fried garlic all complemented each other well. The thin noodles were quite distinctive, lacking the flavor of wheat but still enjoyable. The tender and juicy chashu had a great taste. Adding the chopped garlic intensified the junky flavor, while the pickled ginger provided a refreshing accent essential for tonkotsu ramen. I quickly finished the noodles and ordered an extra serving with firm texture. The slightly high prices left an impression, but the convenient location of "Kameo" made it worth it. I enjoyed the addictive taste of Osaka-style ramen and headed back to my accommodation without any detours.

This shop located in the Hankyu Higashi-dori Shotengai in Umeda. I have passed by the front of this shop countless times but have not visited yet. This time, I was in the vicinity during lunchtime, so I decided to go. I visited around 12:40 on a holiday. There were quite a few customers inside, but the shop is long, so it's hard to see everything. I sat at the counter near the entrance and checked the menu on the tablet provided at each seat. It's not common to see tablets at a ramen shop in my experience, more like at a conveyor belt sushi or izakaya. I ordered the "Mukashi Aji Chikara" for 790 yen. I chose firm noodles. It's rare to have fried garlic and barrier oil toppings. I was also interested in the tsukemen and tomato ramen, but the strong garlic was the deciding factor for me. After a short wait, the Mukashi Aji Chikara arrived. The chopped fried garlic covers about a third of the soup, which looks beautiful and impressive. I took a sip of the soup, and although there is no tonkotsu smell, it has a thick and rich taste. And the punch of garlic is amazing. The noodles are very thin straight noodles. I ordered firm noodles, and they had a perfect texture. I'd like to try the powdered topping someday, but I think firm noodles are the best choice. The chashu is truly outstanding. They even have a menu with a single chashu on top, which I'd like to try someday. This ramen, with its garlic tonkotsu flavor, is truly delightful. Well, whether the people around you feel happy after eating it is questionable (laughs). The payment is done at the self-checkout. The Tennoji branch also had this system, so I wonder if other branches have it too. It's convenient for contactless payment, but sometimes the voice of the staff feels distant and indistinct, whether it's a machine or a person... Next time, I might go for the menu with a single chashu on top. Thank you for the meal.

On the final day of the 4-day weekend in July, I had some errands in Umeda, so I took a train there with my daughter and granddaughter, who happened to have plans for a girls' night out with a friend. It was a short trip, but enjoyable. However, they will soon have to return to their new home, so I'm feeling a bit lonely. Anyway, around noon, I felt a bit hungry, so I wandered into the Hankyu Higashi-dori Shotengai shopping street. When I saw a sign, it triggered my craving for ramen. Since it was hot, I decided to have something cold and ordered using a tablet at a ramen shop. The tablet ordering system seems to be becoming more common due to the COVID-19 situation. I ordered the Cold Oil Soba for 820 yen. The noodles were thick, straight, smooth, chewy, and had a soy sauce flavor. The soup, despite its dark color, was surprisingly refreshing. I was given a container of vinegar to add for flavor enhancement, which worked well. However, the marinated egg was a bit disappointing as it was overcooked. Overall, the ramen was good, but I think I should try their tonkotsu ramen next time. There was no need to interact with the staff or pay at the counter, which is convenient but a bit lonely for someone like me. Thank you for the meal.

Kameo Ramen on Higashi Street. It's located under an arcade so you can use it even when it's raining. I love Kyushu-style tonkotsu ramen and I visit various shops, but this chain store has a delicious taste that everyone can enjoy. This time, I ordered the noodles with a firm texture. Since I eat slowly, they turned out just right, and the soup was delicious too. I usually order the tomato ramen at Kameo, which is also really tasty, but when I'm tired, the tonkotsu ramen that warms me up is the best. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I tried tomato ramen for the first time. The soup, which combines the acidity of tomatoes with the richness of garlic, was quite impressive. Sprinkling Tabasco sauce on it enhanced the flavor even more! Overall, this ramen was quite good and I enjoyed it.

I used to overlook the sign for the "Charred Backfat Pork Bone Soy Sauce Ramen Oni Mori" but decided to try it without extra toppings and with no garlic. The noodles were thick and I had to wait a bit for them. The bowl was filled with bean sprouts, pork belly slices, and a mysterious yellow miso-like substance sprinkled on top. I opted out of garlic, so grated ginger was added on top instead. The yellow miso-like substance turned out to be charred backfat. It was huge! I wasn't sure if I should eat it from the top or mix it in with the noodles. My impression was that it was very salty for me. Seeing the large amount of oil separating on top of the soup, I felt like it would be too much if I finished the whole thing, so I regretfully left some soup behind. Perhaps I prefer Kameo's "old-fashioned taste." Grateful for my health today.

Sometimes I crave "Kameo", a Kyushu ramen with melting chashu as its specialty. I couldn't resist and ended up going in when I saw it in front of me. First, I sanitized my hands and ordered the classic (black) thick tonkotsu with melted egg on top. The noodles were firm, just the way I like them. I started by tasting the soup, which had a delicious tonkotsu flavor. The thin noodles paired perfectly with it. The chashu was also melting in my mouth, and the melted egg was a highlight. I wanted to drink every last drop of the soup, but I resisted for the sake of my health. I will definitely come back when the craving hits again. They also have a menu item called "Oni Mori" (demon portion), which I didn't have the courage to try today, but I'll come back when I'm even hungrier next time. Thank you for the meal. I had lunch at "Ramen Kaito Hankyu Higashi-dori Store" in Umeda on a whim and ordered the "Abura Soba 20" that caught my attention from the sign near the entrance. It arrived promptly as there was hardly any waiting. The Abura Soba 20 (regular size 160g) came with toppings such as chashu, menma, kaiware, shiso, myoga, chopped nori, and green onions. The medium-thick wavy noodles had a good firmness and were mixed with an oily soy sauce-based sauce. The flavor was smooth and sweet, and adding vinegar enhanced the depth of the taste. Overall, I thought it was just an average level of taste. I opted for the half fried rice set this time, so I chose the regular size for the noodles, which turned out surprisingly light and easy to finish since it was soupless. It might have been better to go for the large size noodles. The half fried rice was also of an average taste. The regular size noodles (160g) and large size noodles (240g) are priced the same, and there are condiments on the table such as pepper, chili oil, and vinegar (provided by the staff). There are 7 counter seats with dividers between them, as well as a few table seats. The staff are friendly and provide good service. I received a discount coupon for my next visit near the register and left the restaurant.

A nostalgic taste of youth for me. I visited Ramen Kio-san often during my student days. I revisited after a long time. The menu has changed compared to back then, but this time I ordered the Torotama Old Flavor ramen for 820 yen, half fried rice for 380 yen, and a bottle of beer. The pork bone soup with ultra-thin wheat noodles, tender chashu, flavored egg, everything is a nostalgic ramen. The fried rice used to be a regular size back then, but this time it was a half size. I can't beat my age, haha. I can't visit as often as I used to, but I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. The okonomiyaki restaurant across the street had a huge line, so we decided to go to this ramen shop instead. We were guided to a table in the back by the staff. I ordered the Abura Soba 20th (790 yen) and my husband ordered the Rich Tonkotsu - Old Flavor Black (690 yen). We also ordered the Garlic ZERO Gyoza (290 yen) for the two of us. The Abura Soba 20th allows you to choose the amount of noodles. The regular serving of 160g and the large serving of 240g are both 790 yen. The double serving of 320g is an additional 100 yen. We went with the regular serving. Before we knew it, our dishes arrived. The Abura Soba 20th is made with a blend of carefully selected soy sauces from all over Japan. It has pickled ginger on top, giving it a unique taste. The Rich Tonkotsu - Old Flavor Black uses fine noodles no. 25 and they go really well with the rich tonkotsu soup. The Garlic ZERO Gyoza has a strong flavor with a good amount of ginger. Thank you for the delicious meal. It was really good. 2019.12.30 Food Walking. 3095 reviews (Osaka: 58 reviews)

The taste of the past is black. Fried rice. I don't remember the taste too well because I was a little drunk. But it was easy to eat and delicious. I remember the fried rice specifically, it had a well-balanced seasoning and was to my liking. It's the kind of dish you crave after drinking. Thank you for the meal.
