Nakamuraya's mooncakes and traditional Japanese sweets are usually filled with red bean paste. I often eat ohagi and daifuku, but when it comes to white bean paste, I absolutely love Momoyama. I enjoy the combination of the smooth red bean paste filling and the rich, oily skin of the mooncake. I love both mooncakes and Momoyama. Coming here always gives me a sense of comfort and I can return anytime. Now, let's talk about Odakyu in Shinjuku. I went to Shinjuku Nakamuraya and tried their Hime Dorayaki, which is a bit more expensive than a regular dorayaki. It has a hint of orange scent, which goes really well with the sweet bean paste. The dough is perfectly cooked and has a nice flavor. Recently, my favorite place is located on the 2nd floor underground of Odakyu Shinjuku Store. This time, what caught my attention was the sakura mochi version of Hime Dorayaki. I bought it because it contains sakura mochi. Hime Dorayaki Sakura Mochi - 108 yen It's a small size, typical of Hime Dorayaki. It's a dorayaki sandwich with sakura mochi kneaded with cherry blossoms and sakura leaves. It has a bouncy texture rather than chewy. It also has a gentle sakura fragrance. It's not too sweet, but personally, I would prefer it to be a bit less sweet. I'm not a fan of overly sweet things. The small size is just right for when you're feeling a little hungry. It was a size that made me happy, as someone who prefers a little sweetness in their treats.

I got some Senbei (rice crackers) from Ginza Nakamuraya. The product is called "Kogane Hazumi". Skilled craftsmen who are experts in making rice crackers put their heart and soul into creating this authentic taste. Inside, there are five types of Senbei: 1. Black bean mochi Senbei 2. Nori mochi Senbei 3. Large rice cracker (nori soy sauce flavor) 4. Large rice cracker (soy sauce flavor) 5. Large rice cracker (salad flavor) In other words, there are two types of mochi Senbei and three types of large rice crackers. I tried all five types. Personally, I preferred the large rice crackers. Soy sauce goes well with rice crackers, right? I couldn't stop myself from eating a lot. It was nice to have three different flavors of large rice crackers: nori soy sauce, soy sauce, and salad. I enjoyed them with tea.

The combinations inside vary depending on the bag. Once you start eating, it's hard to stop because they are so crispy and crunchy. The types include nori rolls, aonori, umeboshi, sesame, shrimp salad, cheese rolls, soybean rolls, seaweed cheese, soy sauce, aonori, sugar-coated soybeans, nori strips, sesame, black beans, coarse-ground shrimp, nori shiso, nori kombu, sesame, soybean rolls, shrimp flowers, cheese rolls, matcha sugar, nori, soy sauce, sesame, yuzu sugar, kombu cheese sandwich, black beans, and coarse-ground shrimp. It seems that they were originally brought from China, but they have been adapted to suit Japanese tastes and have become popular. There are two types available, one with red bean paste and the other with nut paste. I tried both of them. The red bean paste was ordinary, but the nut paste had a unique flavor. The texture of the nuts was quite interesting. It might be a taste that some people love while others may not.

There are various flavors, making it a fun snack to enjoy with tea. There are sweet ones coated in sugar, ones wrapped in seaweed, and ones with sesame seeds. For me, the salty ones are the best. They go well with green tea. I didn't know that Nakamuraya not only makes familiar buns and meat buns, but also does curry and Western sweets. Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much.

This is a gift I received! When I opened the box, there were colorful sweets inside ♡ Did Nakamuraya have such sweets? It says "anmakaron". A collaboration of red bean paste and macaron sweets? Unlike the macarons with cream that I usually eat, it looks more like a steamed bun. Strawberry, matcha, chocolate, lemon - written in kanji and hiragana, showing Nakamuraya's commitment to traditional Japanese sweets. The texture is firm and solid, unlike regular macarons. It seems to be kneaded with almond powder, but it doesn't have the typical sticky texture of macarons and the dough is crispy. Inside, there is red bean paste mixed with each flavor and cream, but all the flavors are ordinary. It's in a delicate position between Western and Japanese styles. It's a rare treat that I don't often have, so it might be good for those who like unusual things!
