- Seibu Shinjuku PePe: Opened on March 3, 1977 - In November 2009, the 2nd floor of Seibu Shinjuku PePe was renovated into "PePe Chika," a natural & organic shop bonraspail was reopened. - On October 1, 2019, PePe Chika underwent its first renovation in 10 years, and bonraspail had its second reopening. I received a 50 yen discount coupon flyer at the entrance, so I bought Inari sushi with brown rice and black rice for 400 yen. As a gift for the reopening, I also received 2 cups of freshly harvested Iyo Aguri rice (Koshihikari from the first year of Reiwa).

I used it for lunch this time. I was unsure of what to get, but I ended up purchasing a croissant made with pasture milk. Purchase content: Croissant made with pasture milk 288 yen. The croissant made with pasture milk is different from croissants at other stores, it is dense and heavy. It has a moist texture and a delicious flavor with a strong milk taste. In addition to this, the store also offers bagels and various natural foods. It is a natural food store located inside Seibu Shinjuku Pepe.

In late May 2018, on my way back from Ina, I revisited Monsieur Bon Lapin at Seibu Shinjuku PePe after getting off at Shinjuku Bus Terminal. I bought a bagel, brown rice bread, juice, and decided to try something new by purchasing some Veggie Cheddar Cheese for the journey. Monsieur Bon Lapin still had a great selection of items as always when I arrived at Seibu Shinjuku PePe underground. Since it was already night time, some bagels were discounted, so I bought a variety of items including those. The brown rice bread was flavorful and delicious, although the portion was quite large. The bagel had a normal taste. The Veggie Cheese, which I bought without much thought, turned out to contain pH adjusters when I checked the label (although it was made with lactic acid and such). Despite the strong smell, the taste of the cheese was rich and delicious, made mainly from cornstarch and potatoes, and was enjoyable. I hurriedly stored it in the package and waited until I got back home to eat it. The pomegranate juice had a slight bitterness but was rich in flavor and tasty. If there was a large quantity, it would probably be good to solidify it with agar. The orange juice was of the type commonly seen in natural food stores, with a familiar taste, but the fact that it was reasonably priced for straight fruit juice was appreciated. Although I moved to Yaesu early this time, the store itself is open until 10 pm, so it could be useful for gatherings after drinking, for example. The discounted bento boxes and bagels tend to sell out quickly, but it's still convenient to use even considering that. I will visit again when transferring at Shinjuku. Thank you for the meal. On March 3, 2017, Seibu Shinjuku PePe (and Shinjuku Prince Hotel) celebrated its 40th anniversary of opening♪ Located in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, along with Seibu Shinjuku Station (Seibu Shinjuku Line)♪ Since I was 12 years old, I have been a resident along the Seibu Shinjuku Line, so I have had a long relationship with Seibu Shinjuku PePe♪ In the past, even during broad daylight, when walking alone on the streets in front of Seibu Shinjuku Station, I would sometimes be approached for a chat in front of McDonald's Seibu Shinjuku Station store (back in the day), so passing through the Subnade underground passage was the safe route. Back in the day, so please don't misunderstand... When heading from the Subnade to the Seibu Shinjuku Station ticket gate, passing through PePe's underground second floor. When entering PePe from the entrance on the second floor of PePe, the left-hand side is a store called bonraspail, a specialty store for organic and specially cultivated vegetables, natural yeast bread, additive-free food, and eco-friendly goods♪ Before the renovation of the Seibu Shinjuku PePe underground second floor in November 2009, which was renamed "PePe Chika," bonraspail was already there. However, was it a store like the current organic/natural food store? It seemed to be a store that handled imported food like Caldi Coffee Farm or Jupiter... Recently, when I forget to buy something, I often procure it from the wagon here. For example, family bento (Inari with rice and black rice) and potato salad... There are also milk packs from Kinoshita Dairy in the refrigerated section. However, the potato salad pack is a bit expensive. I bought it without looking at the price tag and ended up paying about 100 yen more for less quantity compared to the supermarket's potato salad pack. It's understandable that the price is high because it's an additive-free product, but... Since I always bought it for my family, I didn't write a review. Before starting Tabelog, I once bought Lindt chocolate for myself, so I only recently registered as "visited." This time, I bought a bagel (with adzuki beans) for my late-night snack and finally had the opportunity to write my eating impressions, so I ended up submitting a review. Adzuki bean bagel is quite rare, isn't it? My impression was that the adzuki beans were kneaded into the bagel-shaped bread. The chewiness was a bit weak. I also bought semi-sweet chocolate (lightly sweet, slightly larger bite-sized chocolate) for myself. It was really not very sweet, almost like it wasn't chocolate (;´∀`) Also, I used to buy black bean jelly from Iwate Galaxy Plaza in Higashi Ginza, and I found it here, so I bought it. Iwate's black bean jelly is so delicious♪ The pumpkin pudding was for my family. They also have a point card, and it seems like there are many regular customers. If the potato salad was a bit cheaper, I would also become a regular customer (lol). *As of March 23, 2017, ☆3.03 (first 12 reviews)

Bon Lapaiyu located in Seibu Shinjuku Pepe is a comprehensive select shop of natural and additive-free foods, inspired by the Rue de Lapaiyu in Paris. At first, I thought it was a bakery, but I was surprised to see onigiri and bento right from the start. Looking around, the bread shelf was small, with a selection more like a supermarket. However, they are particular about organic products, so you can find items you wouldn't see in a regular supermarket. In addition to onigiri and bento boxes, they also offer fresh produce such as vegetables and fruits, rice and grains, seasonings and drinks, and snacks. My main purpose was to buy bread, so I purchased a few remaining types of bread. Here's what I ate: - Soy Milk Bagel with Cranberry: The soy milk incorporation wasn't very noticeable, but the bagel was good. - Kinako and Anko Bagel: Organic bread tends to be less sweet, but this one was quite sweet with a strong taste of anko and kinako. - Rice and Curry Bread (WIXOSS): This is a curry bread with keema curry inside. The ingredients are generously cut. I visited around 8:00 pm, and although there were some bento boxes left, there were only a few bread options remaining. If you are looking for bread, it's better to go a bit earlier. Thank you for the meal!

I visited a natural food store where they sell naturally fermented bagels. I purchased a Cinnamon Raisin Bagel for 185 yen (excluding tax). The store is like a supermarket, offering a variety of vegetables, seasonings, and other products. The space is not very large, with products packed closely together. On this day, there were around 10 different types of bagels displayed on the shelf in the bread section. The bagels had a expiration date from the previous day. They were individually wrapped and placed on the shelf. Customers need to bring the items to the register themselves, similar to other food products. I toasted the bagel before eating, so the surface was slightly crispy. The inside was moist and slightly chewy, with a soft texture. The Cinnamon Raisin flavor had a strong cinnamon taste, which I found a bit overpowering, but it would likely be enjoyed by cinnamon lovers.

I have been relying on this place for a long time. I often buy food here, as well as detergent, hygiene products, and a pot-type water purifier. By registering my address, I receive a 10% off postcard about every six months, so I sometimes buy more expensive items at that time. The food here is delicious but expensive. It's expensive but trustworthy. The household items are of good quality but expensive. They are expensive but I want to continue using them. That's why I keep coming back. They also sell Yogi tea that you can drink at my favorite café, Alishan Cafe in Hanno. They have a variety of bread (which is also expensive), and they offer a wide selection of seasonings that you can't find at regular supermarkets, which is another attraction. Concept stores like this are usually expensive, so if the products are not good, they tend to close down quickly, but this place has been around for a long time, so I don't have to worry about it suddenly disappearing. It's located in a quite disadvantageous place on the basement floor of PePe, which is rarely visited by those who don't use Seibu Shinjuku Station, but I will continue to visit regularly, so please continue to thrive!

Last night, I ate a bit too much so for lunch I decided to go light with a bagel. I remembered this place located on the B2F of Seibu Shinjuku PePe... a shelf in a natural food store dedicated to bread. They sell "naturally fermented homemade yeast bread." I really wanted a bagel sandwich, but I couldn't be too extravagant. It's New Year's Eve after all. I bought walnut, mugwort, and blueberry flavors. On the way back, I bought kiri cream cheese, plain, at Don Quijote. They also sell some fancy things there, not just cosplay costumes. When I got home, I warmed the bagel in a toaster oven, cut it in half, and sandwiched the cream cheese in between. It's better to cut the bagel before warming it... but I cut it after warming it, so I burnt myself a bit. However, I enjoyed what I wanted to eat, so it was delicious. Seibu Shinjuku PePe is located on the side of the Milan-Za theater... Milan-Za is also closing today. Another landmark in Kabukicho is disappearing.

Connected to Seibu Shinjuku Station, the shop is located on the 2nd basement floor of "PePe". It is a specialty store selling natural and additive-free foods under the umbrella of a chicken egg trading company. There are currently six stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area including this one. Despite being in the basement of a high-end hotel in Tokyo, it has a unique atmosphere. Inside the store, there are many organic foods such as vegetables, perishable goods, and seasonings. The bread corner is particularly well-stocked, with a variety of in-house products including bagels. Purchased the "brioche cream pan," "blueberry bagel," and "Mokugi pasteurized milk." While not particularly delicious, it may be a convenient store for women who are into natural products as it offers products that are hard to find elsewhere.

This is a natural specialty food store located on the B2 floor of PePe at Seibu Shinjuku Station. They sell organic and natural foods, sourdough bread, daily necessities, etc. Since it's health food, the prices are high. I happened to pass by and was drawn in by a banana cake priced at 189 yen called "Banana Märchen." It's a banana cake made without preservatives. I had the impression that natural foods are not very tasty, but this banana cake is delicious. It's sweet with raw sugar, but it feels gentle on the body. I would like to try other breads they have as well.

I purchased a bagel at Bon La Spaille, a natural food specialty store located in Pepe Chika at Seibu Shinjuku Station. Although I'm not exactly sure about the positioning of natural foods, it seems to mainly consist of organic certified ingredients. I chose the mugwort cranberry normal bagel, and since it was late in the evening, all items were discounted by 20 yen, which was a bit of a deal. They also offer condiments and fresh produce, making it convenient to stop by after work.

Located on the basement second floor of "pepe" at Seibu Shinjuku Station, "Natural & Organic bonraspail" is a shop that sells natural foods and organic household items. I was surprised to find bread and bagels being sold here, but after reading reviews on Tabelog, I decided to visit the shop. The bread corner had a wide variety of bagels on display, each individually wrapped. The ingredients were clearly labeled, and the packaging mentioned "Homemade Natural Yeast Bread" and the organic market on Rue de Raspail in Paris. I tried several items: - Mugwort Bagel (179 yen): The vibrant green color and strong aroma of mugwort made this bagel a favorite. - Soy Milk Bagel with Chocolate Chips (189 yen): The fluffy texture of the soy milk dough and the mild chocolate flavor were enjoyable. - Banana Bagel with Almonds (231 yen): Although I couldn't taste the banana, the almond slices added a nice touch. - Sprout Bagel (179 yen): Made with domestic wheat germ, this bagel had a simple yet satisfying taste with a hint of honey sweetness. - BR Whole Wheat Bread with Walnuts and Currants (389 yen): Toasting this whole wheat bread enhanced its flavor, making it crispy and delicious. Overall, the shop offers a variety of organic bread and bagels made with natural ingredients. The simple yet delicious selection, including muffins and melon bread, is worth trying. I particularly enjoyed the mugwort bagel and look forward to visiting again to try more varieties.

I purchased a loaf of bread from the bakery Chitta Del Pane in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, which is being sold at the natural food store Bon Lapaye for 350 yen (excluding tax). It is a 5-slice loaf of bread from Yamagata. The ingredients include Hokkaido flour, salt, sugar, bread yeast, and rice oil (domestic). I toasted it and ate it with butter. It is a dense loaf of bread. When toasted, it has a nice aroma of wheat flour. It is a bread where you can enjoy the taste of baked wheat flour without any distractions, but it gives off a somewhat heavy and dense impression. It is not the kind of bread that I would want to eat every day. I had it with ham and eggs as a side dish, and I think it would be balanced well with a light side dish like salad.

When I go to Seibu Shinjuku, I always make sure to stop by here. They have a variety of natural foods, but the highlight is definitely the bagels! They are moist and chewy, with a satisfying size and incredible taste. My top recommendations are the cranberry and chocolate bagels. The sweetness and texture are just perfect. They have a wide range of flavors such as plain, pumpkin, raisin, mugwort, and more, priced around 180 yen each, so it's great value for money. Even if you buy a lot and take them home, when you heat them up the next day or the day after, they are still deliciously moist. If you're not a fan of fluffy bread and prefer something without additives, this place is a must-visit. You'll be impressed by how such delicious bread can be made with just a few ingredients. They also offer various types of natural yeast bread, so you won't get tired of coming back. I wonder which bagel flavor I should buy as a souvenir next time!

Natural food store's original natural yeast bread. They had bagels, sweet bread, sandwich bread, and I think a few types of hard bread as well. When practicing macrobiotics, I would occasionally buy a dense fig and rye bread. The store is conveniently located in a station building, so it was a good option when I wanted bread but there were no bakeries around. The taste is average, but I felt safe eating it because it didn't contain harmful additives. The prices are not particularly high or low, just average. The store was renovated recently and it looked clean and nice, which left a good impression.

Seibu Shinjuku PePe, which opened on March 3, 1977, renovated its underground 2nd floor as "PePe Chika" in November 2009. The existing store, bonraspail, also had a renewal opening on November 14, 2009. The first time I bought imported chocolates (Lindt) here was before the renovation. It was before I started using Tabelog, so I don't have the receipt as I threw it away.
