I saw this Mont Blanc in a magazine and it looked delicious, so I bookmarked it. It was supposed to be available until February, and I happened to have a reason to go in that direction, so I stopped by. It has the atmosphere of an old-fashioned town cake shop, but with a hint of French sophistication. I first looked at the cakes in the showcase on the first floor, then decided on one and went up to the second floor café. I thought the prices of the cakes were a bit high. Even though it's not in the city center, the prices are quite strong. The prices were around 580 yen to 660 yen, and honestly, I thought they could be about 100 yen cheaper. However, when you order a cake set, the price suddenly becomes more reasonable, so I thought it was better value to eat in than to take out. In the eat-in set, you get three small baked sweets and a drink for 980 yen. I chose Darjeeling tea, which came in a cup. It was neither good nor bad. My companion had coffee, which he said was delicious. The Mont Blanc, called Japone, uses Japanese chestnuts and costs 660 yen, probably including tax. The base was tart dough and a bit hard, but the inside was crispy with meringue, and the amount of whipped cream was not too much, so the texture was light, and the chestnut paste was delicious. My companion ordered Fromage, a cheese mousse, for 580 yen, probably including tax. The base was also tart dough and a bit hard, but the mousse part was delicious. It was a sunny Tuesday, just after the New Year holiday, and the atmosphere was relaxed, but the café on the second floor was quite busy with students and others. I thought it was a nice cake café to have tea when I'm in the area. On the way back, I bought cream-filled cream puffs as a souvenir. They have a shelf life of three days. They have a good volume compared to macarons, so they are satisfying and a good deal. Raspberry - 200 yen, Almond Praline - 220 yen, Mediterranean Lemon - 200 yen. They were all delicious, but I especially liked the Almond Praline. I would like to try other varieties as well. (*^^*)
