Today's lunch was a hamburger from "Japone" for the first time in a while. This restaurant has around 10 counter seats and is run by a husband and wife. It's a popular hamburger joint among nearby company employees and locals. They open at 11:30, so I left the office a bit early and arrived at the restaurant at 11:45. Luckily, there was a seat available, and I just made it before it got full. I ordered the simmered hamburger this time, while my colleague ordered the Japanese-style hamburger. The owner carefully grilled the hand-kneaded hamburgers. The texture was a bit soft, like old-fashioned hamburgers. Trying it again, it was fluffy, juicy, and delicious. I will definitely visit again.

Hamburg steak stew (large) ¥1,300
It tastes like a homemade hamburger taken to the next level. The finely minced meat is fluffy, with a good amount of nutmeg and pepper. The demi-glace sauce is really delicious, and it goes perfectly with the generous portion of pasta. I would like to try the miso stewed hamburger next time. Thank you for the meal.

I happened to stop by this place for lunch and arrived before the opening. There was no line in front of the store, so I thought I had plenty of time. However, just as the store opened, a bunch of businessmen suddenly appeared and started entering! I hurriedly joined them and managed to slip into the first group, but it was a close call. It's important not to let your guard down, as it seems nearby office workers come specifically for the opening. There are only 8 seats at the counter, so it fills up quickly. It took about 15 minutes from ordering in the first group to being served. If you wait in line next time, they may take your order in advance, so it might be a bit faster. In the atmosphere of the restaurant that makes you feel the passage of time, the cool master and the kind-looking wife serve customers efficiently. I ordered the simmered hamburger. After taking a bite, it reminded me of the hamburgers my mother used to make. The taste of the minced meat with a fluffy texture, flavored with spices and nutmeg. Even if you try to make it yourself, it somehow feels different, but this is exactly it, this tastes like the hamburgers at home! It may sound biased, but my mother was really good at cooking, handling various cuisines from Japanese, Western, to Chinese dishes at a high level. It feels like I've rediscovered the nostalgic deliciousness of hamburgers after a long time. It was a restaurant I happened to visit, but the hamburgers there seemed to be loved by everyone, from kids to adults, in a humble way. Thank you for the meal.

Founded in 1998 (Heisei 10), this Western-style diner has been run by a husband and wife team and has been beloved by locals for a long time. Despite being a Western-style diner, the menu mainly consists of hamburgers. Unlike modern meaty hamburgers, you can enjoy the old-fashioned fluffy hamburgers that are loved by all. The retro atmosphere inside the restaurant has only counter seats for about 10 people. It is a popular spot and fills up quickly. The hamburgers come in four flavors: Japanese-style, demi-glace, stewed, and miso stewed. You can choose between a regular size (170g/180g) and a large size (280g) for each. We tried the "Stewed Hamburger Set (large hamburger)" for 1,300 yen and the "Japanese-style Hamburger Set (large hamburger)" for 1,200 yen. The set includes soup, salad, and rice. The lunch and dinner prices are the same. The hot and fluffy hamburgers arrived. There are no knives or forks with the hamburgers; you can easily cut them with chopsticks. The stewed hamburger comes with three pieces, while the regular size usually has two. The hamburgers have a perfect texture, juicy and tender. It's delicious to mix the hamburger sauce with the pasta side dish. It makes you want to order more rice (laughs). It goes well with rice too. This is the taste of Japanese Western-style hamburgers. The "Japanese-style Hamburger" comes with grated daikon radish on top. It's a light and refreshing hamburger. The nutmeg flavor is prominent, giving it a true hamburger taste. With its large size, it offers a satisfying and filling meal, which I believe would satisfy men as well. This restaurant is known for having many male fans. I'm also curious about the "Miso Stewed Hamburger," which is not common in other restaurants. Since the lunchtime hours are limited to 2 hours (11:30-1:30), I recommend arriving early if you're interested in visiting.【Restaurant Name】Japone【Address】13-2 Susaki-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka【Business Hours】11:30-13:30, 18:00-20:00 *Please confirm【Closed】Sundays *Please confirm※8-minute walk from Nakasu Kawabata Station on the subway. Today's lunch was near Nakasu Kawabata! I was curious about this place that had a fluffy finish on their hamburg steak, so I saved it... The interior of the restaurant is small with a counter seating for about 8 people. Looking at the menu, there were four types of hamburg steaks available:
- Japanese-style
- Demi-glace
- Stewed
- Miso stewed
As I like miso, I was drawn to the miso stewed option... So I ordered:
Hamburg Steak Set Japanese-style (large) for 1,200 yen.
While enjoying the salad and soup, after waiting for about 10 minutes, the sizzling hot iron plate arrived! The sauce was heated up nicely, giving off a delicious aroma! My appetite was stimulated! Now, let's try the main dish, the hamburg steak! Oh! It has a soft and fluffy texture as I had imagined! The sauce has a different taste from the usual Japanese-style sauce... Maybe it's a sesame sauce? The sesame flavor spreads nicely! It has a refreshing taste, and the rice goes well with it... The side dishes included potatoes, greens, and surprisingly, burdock tempura! The chewy coating of the tempura surprisingly goes well with the sauce! With a generous portion, I was completely satisfied and full! I'm curious about trying the miso stewed hamburg steak next time! It's understandable why this place is popular among office workers! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Cheap, voluminous, and delicious, this shop has a good reputation. The interior has only 8 counter seats, giving off a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The menu includes: 1) Large Hamburg Set - Japanese style - 1200 yen 2) Large Stewed Hamburg Set - 1300 yen 3) Miso Stewed Hamburg Set - 1050 yen There are only four menu options, but it was a tough choice. The hamburgers are hot and fluffy, and the miso stew has a spicy kick to it. The stew is rich in flavor, but surprisingly light. The Japanese style hamburger has a sweet and light sauce with grated onion, which I personally prefer. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and the hospitality of the landlady made it even more enjoyable. Thank you for the wonderful meal. On the way back, I passed by Mafuku-san and saw that the soba noodle shop will be closing on October 26th.

The restaurant is always full or with a line right after opening. Last time, I had the Japanese-style hamburger, but this time I tried the stewed hamburger that other customers were ordering. It's a unique flavor that you can only taste here. It was delicious.

I had been curious about this place as I had seen it lined up before. While walking around looking for lunch, I happened to see an empty seat just after the store opened and decided to stop by. I had the Japanese-style hamburger. It was not heavy like typical hamburgers, and even though I didn't have much of an appetite, I was able to eat it all up. It was delicious.

When I visited Hamburg Japone in Susaki last week around 12 o'clock, there were 4-5 customers waiting in front of the shop and I couldn't get in. This time, I came for revenge after 1 o'clock. The inside of the shop had only counter seats, and most of them were taken, but I managed to find a seat that was just available. It seemed like I arrived just in time for the last lunch of the day, as the lunch ending panel was placed outside. After being seated, warm tea, soup, and salad were placed on the counter within a few minutes. The sizzling hamburg steak was brought to the table on a hot plate. The surface of the hamburg steak had a slight sear, and the inside was fluffy with a strong taste of nutmeg. It tasted even better when mixed with the demi-glace sauce. I already feel like I want to eat it again soon.

Before the state of emergency was declared, I visited a hamburger specialty shop called "Japone" in Susaki-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. It was during lunchtime on a weekday. Due to a business trip in the area, I planned to visit Sekitokken, but found a notice saying they would be closed until May. I decided to visit Japone, which was located nearby. The restaurant had only counter seats with a capacity of 12. There were two other customers when I arrived. The lunch menu offered four types of hamburgers: "Japanese-style sauce," "demiglace sauce," "stewed," and "miso stewed." I chose the Japanese-style sauce. The hamburger arrived sizzling on a hot plate, topped with grated daikon radish. The meat was a blend of different cuts, tender and soft, easily cut with chopsticks. The sauce was lightly drizzled on the hot plate rather than directly on the meat, allowing the flavor of the meat to shine through. I finished every last bite as it was delicious. I look forward to trying the demiglace sauce or miso stewed hamburger next time. I will definitely be back to enjoy more of Japone's tasty hamburgers.

Hamburgers are very popular in Japan. They are a common home-cooked meal and a popular menu item in school lunches. There are also many chain restaurants that serve hamburgers. However, there are few specialty hamburger restaurants. Japone is a hamburger specialty restaurant located in the old town of Hakata in Fukuoka. You can enjoy handmade hamburgers at a reasonable price. There are four types of hamburgers available: Japanese-style sauce, demi-glace sauce, simmered hamburger, and miso simmered hamburger. You can order just the hamburger or as a set. You can also get a large serving of rice for an additional 100 yen. In the quiet restaurant run by an elderly couple, you can enjoy a juicy and flavorful hamburger with a generous portion.

I received a recommendation for a delicious hamburger restaurant in Fukuoka and decided to visit for lunch. I arrived a little after 11:30 and was able to get a seat easily before 12 o'clock. The menu had options for demi-glace and Japanese-style hamburgers, and this time I ordered the classic demi-glace. The 12-seat counter was full by noon, showing the popularity of the place. The hamburger itself was sizzling on the hot plate, but the taste was neither good nor bad, just average. I was hoping for a bit more meatiness and maybe my expectations were too high after hearing how delicious it was. The others I was with were all satisfied and said it was delicious. Next time, I'll try the Japanese-style or simmered hamburger, and revisit the restaurant.

A small hamburger specialty shop surrounded by a half-circle counter in the kitchen.
- Stewed Hamburger Set (regular size) ¥1015
The hamburger with a hint of nutmeg is packed with flavor and has a meaty texture. The sauce is a bit bland, leaving you wanting more. There is extra rice, so you can finish it off with the pasta side dish. The salad has fresh vegetables and a delicious French dressing. The onion soup has a subtle saltiness with the aroma of bacon and a gentle consommé that soothes the soul.

Next to Nakasu, there is a hamburger specialty shop. They offer four types of hamburgers: Japanese-style, demi-glace sauce, stewed, and miso stewed. I ordered the large stewed hamburger (280 grams) for 1280 yen! A salad and bacon and onion soup were served first, and I really liked the tangy dressing on the salad. Then, the rice and stewed hamburger arrived. The 280-gram hamburger was indeed quite substantial! The meat juices were just right and the texture was firm, giving it a comforting flavor. I would like to try the other types as well!

The hamburgers served at this restaurant, which is run by a couple, are so delicious that they could easily rank in the top 10 in Fukuoka.

Visited on October 29, 2020. The landlady is currently undergoing cancer treatment, so they are only offering takeout. I wanted to try the simmered hamburger, but due to the circumstances, they only had regular hamburgers available, with a choice of either Japanese-style or demi-glace sauce. This time, I opted for a takeout of a regular hamburger with demi-glace sauce. Hmm, I really wanted to try the simmered hamburger they usually serve during regular hours.
