Kintetsu Osaka Abenobashi Station, just south of the station, a little east of the road between Abeno Harukas and Abeno Hoop that opened just last month (August 25, 2023). I revisited the newly opened hormone restaurant. "Hormone Shokudo" is a new format of Fujio Food System, with only the first store in Ogimachi and the second store here so far. Last time I visited, it was not listed on the Fujio Food System website, but now it is. The interior of the restaurant has about 10 counter seats facing the kitchen and 8 table seats at the back, a total of 18 seats. However, at this time, the chairs near the teppanyaki are removed. The restaurant operates on a food ticket system, with a ticket machine right after entering. The menu includes "Hormone Yaki Teishoku" (990 yen) as the flagship, "Niku Sui Teishoku" (900 yen), "Thinly Sliced Beef Kalbi Teishoku" (900 yen), "Middle Kalbi Teishoku" (1280 yen), "Beef Harami Teishoku" (1380 yen), and more. Last night, watching the Hanshin Giants game on TV with "that" in front of me, I drank too much and got a hangover. At such times, I remembered that this restaurant has a "Niku Sui Teishoku". Niku Sui is a dish that was born from the anecdote that Hanaki Kyo, who was not feeling well before appearing in the Yoshimoto Shinkigeki, ordered "meat udon, udon removed" at a restaurant near the theater, and the owner at the time responded to that. I handed the food ticket to the staff and waited at the counter seat, and the staff skillfully started rolling the tamagoyaki while cooking the Niku Sui in a small pot in front of me. In less than 5 minutes, it was handed to me. On the tray, there is Niku Sui, tamagoyaki, and rice lined up. On top of the rice are two pieces of pickled daikon radish. The "Niku Sui" is a normal-sized bowl with thin slices of beef sinking in plenty with silk tofu, and chopped green onions scattered on top. When I sip the broth, it has a simple taste with a linear umami taste with a sweet and salty seasoning. The sweetness is modest compared to the original "Sento Se". The beef is tender and has a gentle texture with tofu. At the bottom of the broth, an egg like a poached egg is sunk, and when crushed with chopsticks, the yolk spreads in the broth, creating an even gentler taste. The tamagoyaki is a Kansai-style dashimaki tamago. Is it the same as the one served at "Maido Ookino Shokudo"? The broth is strong enough, so I don't feel the need to add soy sauce. The staff's grilling skills were so familiar, they must have grilled it many times at the affiliated "Maido Ookino Shokudo". The rice is in a normal size, not a large size. If I had ordered a large size, it might have been a problem. The pickled daikon radish on top seems a bit cheap, but they are probably doing it intentionally. Unexpectedly filling, I was worried if I could finish it all because of the hangover, but I managed to finish it. Phew... Until recently, this place was "Tenho", and before that, it was "Saba 6", both of which are minor brands in the Fujio Food System. Maybe they are using this place to conduct pilot tests for new brand operations.
