The other day, I attended a party at the same bank, this time for the change of branch manager. I couldn't miss it as I am indebted to this bank. This time, we sat at tables and all the food was brought to us by the companions, so I can't complain about the food. The cuisine was mainly Western, which is tough for someone like me with diabetes. I would prefer if they included more Japanese cuisine, maybe about 40%. The senior at the next table was surrounded by young companions and was smiling. This must be the secret of youth. The former branch manager is returning to the Tokyo head office, so he was relaxed in his greetings, while the new branch manager seemed nervous. In a struggling economy like Kurume, please provide plenty of loans without resorting to loan recovery. At a bank friends' gathering, the branch manager expressed gratitude to the president of the Kurume friends' association for their long-standing efforts. The bank executives explained a wide range of economic conditions, and everyone listened attentively and took notes. Finally, the social gathering began and I enjoyed the food, especially the eel, which is my favorite. The quality of the food depends on the budget, and the eel was popular despite being average quality. The president of Fukuoka Bank, known as the lord of the financial industry in Kurume, visited Kurume and spoke about the global financial situation. While it's important for bank executives to understand the world financial situation, revitalizing the struggling local economy should be their true focus. The bank's primary focus seems to be on profit-making, with a focus on zero interest rates, collecting deposits, and purchasing government bonds. The bank's management is tough, and they seem to prioritize lending to high-profit companies that don't need funding. The profit-first approach seems to be turning local banks into mini-city banks. Local banks should focus on lending to local companies to help them thrive and make the city prosperous. At a social gathering with a good budget, the food was delicious, as expected from Fukuoka Bank. On the first Saturday of the 3-day weekend in October, I visited Suikoen for some errands and saw that there were 5 weddings taking place, making it quite busy. A beautiful woman at the entrance turned out to be Mr. Kawamura, the president of Suikoen, giving instructions to the staff. Working women shine brightly. At a study session hosted by a certain bank, Mr. Fumiaki Hikita was the lecturer. His talk on "The Energetic Management of Energetic Companies" was very convincing and informative. However, reality doesn't always go as planned for me. At the party, only guest speeches were given, and being diabetic, I couldn't eat much of the food. I managed to have only cherries, limited to two large plates. I had to endure. The companion women were all beautiful. Senior executives were doing well, and there was a lot to learn from them. At a lecture by the author Motohiko Izawa, I learned about the human image of the late Edo period and was impressed by his analytical approach. Learning about the late Edo period from world history was eye-opening. I received a special signed copy of his book, which was very touching. The food at the party depends on the price, so I didn't complain, as it would be unfair to the president. It was an enjoyable night at Suikoen. Happy New Year to everyone. Thank you for your support last year. I will start this year with a review of the New Year's dishes at Suikoen. Wishing you all the best this year. - Kichiro. On New Year's Day at 11 a.m., my family gathered at my parents' house to celebrate the New Year with a traditional meal.
