Osaka Port - Tsukiko Yokocho is a student-run izakaya aimed at revitalizing the local community. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. Their response to minor issues was excellent. The Tempozan cheese is a must-try. Check out the video here: [link to video].

Hello there. A new initiative has opened in Chikko Yokochi in Minato-ku, mainly focused on students. The operation is mostly run by students, and inside the establishment, you can enjoy various types of cuisine such as obanzai, kushikatsu, teppanyaki, bar, and snack, all lined up like a traditional alleyway (the snack bar is separate at the back). The menu is authentic and not just for school festivals, but a proper izakaya experience. Don't miss out on the gin and soda, and the cool adult chopsticks. The teppanyaki is also top-notch. Try the Tempozan Cheese and the famous Horumon Yaki Udon from Minami. It's a lively and enjoyable experiment. It seems like Chikko Yokochi will be buzzing with excitement. Chikko Yokocho is located a 2-minute walk from Osaka Port Station on the Osaka Subway Chuo Line. It seems to be run by students and has about 4 different food shops inside, including a kushikatsu restaurant, horumon (offal) shop, bar, and a snack bar in the back. I ordered the Iberico pork roast pork seared, Iberico pork frankfurt, shime saba, marinated octopus, Chikko cheese, and assorted kushikatsu. The roast pork was especially delicious. There was also horumon marinated in koji served with plenty of vegetables. They offer homemade craft cola, which doesn't look like cola but is quite tasty. The students were working hard to run the place, so the freshness was great.
