We went to Anpanman Stadium and searched nearby for lunch. We found this restaurant and entered before 12 o'clock. Luckily, there was a tatami seating area available because we had a small child with us. The restaurant smelled of good broth. I had kakesoba and gyudon, my friend had tempura, my son had zaru udon, and my wife had duck nanban udon. It took quite some time for the food to come out. The kakesoba had a good broth but the portion was small. The mini gyudon was flavorful and delicious. I ordered two and it was just right. My son seemed like he needed more food. It was delicious but getting a large portion would have been better. After walking around Kawabata shopping street, we returned to Anpanman Stadium.

For today's lunch, I went to a soba restaurant that I was curious about near Nakasu Kawabata, as I was feeling the effects of yesterday's drinking party and wanted something light. The location is near Hakataza, close to the subway, making it easily accessible. The restaurant has around 5 counter seats and 3 table seats. I looked at the menu and ordered the lunch special set.
Weekday limited lunch service set B (900 yen): Daily mini rice bowl and hot soba (or udon) set! Today's daily mini rice bowl was gyudon (beef and egg bowl)! After about 10 minutes of waiting, the set arrived at the tatami seat. Wow, in addition to soba and mini rice bowl, there were side dishes and pickles included in the set! The side dish was konjac with a spicy kick of red pepper... The dashi was subtly sweet, with a gentle soy sauce base! With sudachi adding a hint of acidity and flavor, it felt refreshing and easy on the stomach. It was a perfect choice for today!
The soba was thin but had a firm texture with a chewy bite. The more you chew, the more the flavor of the soba spreads in your mouth. The gyudon was simmered in soy sauce with plenty of umami beef and a soft-cooked egg that went well with the generous dashi. As expected, the rice bowl at a soba restaurant is best with plenty of umami dashi! There must be many customers coming to Hakataza from the location… It was a very satisfying set with a high level of satisfaction! Thank you for the meal!

Visited on a weekday at 1:00 pm. No waiting in line. 80% of the seats were occupied. Food was served in 10 minutes. Had lunch at a soba restaurant in Nakasu, Fukuoka. Located right behind the Hakata-za, this soba restaurant is a very ordinary place in the city, but they offer seasonal menus that give a sense of the time of year. On this day, they had soba dishes made with oysters. Chose the "Local Chicken Nanban Soba" for 900 yen with a mini oyakodon for 600 yen. I wanted to try the local ingredients, so I ordered this dish. The chicken was bite-sized and had a pleasant texture. The noodles were soft and thin, typical of Fukuoka, and the dipping sauce was on the richer side. The oyakodon had a flavorful seasoning and was crispy, which I personally enjoyed, but I felt that 600 yen was a bit expensive for the portion size. Thank you for the meal.

This is a long-established soba restaurant located near Hakata-za. Inside the restaurant, there are counter seats and sunken kotatsu seats where you can relax. This time, I tried the Tamago Toji Soba from the warm soba menu. The fluffy egg soaked up the broth and was very delicious.

I am happy with this restaurant that offers continuous service, located right next to Hakataza. They serve duck salt grill for 950 yen plus tax, which is more expensive than the soba noodles. It comes with delicious yuzu pepper. The restaurant seems to have a long history. There is a Japanese sake with the same name as the restaurant.

The sign says "Soba Restaurant Niishima Main Store" - Main Store!? The exterior looks quite grand... but once you step inside, it's actually quite down-to-earth. It's been about 7-8 years since my last visit, and it doesn't seem like much has changed. They offer two lunch sets, each with a daily mini rice bowl and a choice of mini soba or udon. I was pretty hungry during my late lunch, so I opted for the soba in a large size. However, it turned out to be a mistake as it looked like a regular size portion! Moving on to the food review, the broth was flavorful and delicious. The noodles had a good texture, although they were a bit on the softer side. Now, about the rice bowl - I'll say it again, it was definitely a regular size! Despite that, it was quite a generous portion. The katsu donburi was tasty as expected from a soba restaurant. Next time, I'll skip the lunch set and try their seasonal menu item "Sudachi Soba" which caught my eye. It's almost soba season, so I'm looking forward to my next visit to this enjoyable restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Zaru soba for 600 yen. I decided to try some soba for a change. I noticed there are many udon shops around here, but after looking around, I found out there are actually quite a few soba shops too. I plan to explore and visit them regularly. This place has a nice atmosphere and seems to have many regular customers. I tried the zaru soba and it was delicious with a firm texture and a good mouthfeel. I'm looking forward to enjoying my journey of discovering new soba shops.

I used it for a university alumni reunion. It was a course that included Hakata's specialties such as Mizutaki and delicious soba as a finishing touch. You can also enjoy dishes like Okyuto and Chikuzen-ni. It was the perfect course for me, who was craving Hakata food in Kansai! The interior on the first floor of Hakataza was calm, and I thought it was a good restaurant to entertain visitors to Hakata for sightseeing. I was impressed by the soba shochu soba-yu cocktail. It's exquisite!! There are quite a few delicious soba shochu in Kyushu, but I think this is the only place where you can get a soba-yu cocktail. I will visit again.

I had tendon (tempura rice bowl) and zaru soba (cold soba noodles) for my meal. The soba had a subtle aroma and tasted delicious. The broth had a strong bonito flavor, which I personally did not enjoy much. The tendon had 2 small shrimp, 1 sweet potato, and 1 shiso leaf, with a broth that was so light in color it almost seemed like it wasn't there. The shrimp were quite small, about the size of a person's index finger (5-6 cm). Despite the light color of the broth, it tasted quite salty. I had high expectations since it was the main branch, but I was a bit disappointed.

I ordered the tempura soba. It came with two large shrimp. The soba noodles were thick and chewy, very delicious. They also served soba broth. Perfect for before a show at Hakataza theater.

It was chilly, so I visited after a long time in search of warm dashi. The rich dashi warmed me up inside. The oyakodon was reliably delicious as always. Thank you for the meal! I will visit for lunch occasionally.

A seemingly long-established soba restaurant. I happened to visit for lunch. The soba was delicious. The service was a bit rough though.
