I ended up finding this restaurant as I was out late and wondering if there was any place still open. It's quietly tucked away in a chaotic Kyoto-like alley lined with tea houses. Upon entering, there was a counter that resembled a sushi restaurant, with the chef busy at work. We ordered a la carte, and each dish was prepared with such care and kindness. The abalone, in particular, was incredibly delicious. It was a lovely memory of Kyoto.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is excellent. We were able to enjoy a leisurely meal in a private room on the second floor. The hair crab salad was impressive. The course menu listed a dish that seemed to be veal as "young lamb," so it was disappointing as I don't like game meat, but it was very delicious.

I sat at the counter on this day. It was nice to be able to see the cooking process, giving it a lively atmosphere. I heard that the karasumi (bottarga) is homemade. It had a grainy and moist texture unlike any I've had before. I usually don't like fava beans, but the fava bean panna cotta was incredibly delicious!

Miyagawa-cho Sakasan♡ This is also a beloved restaurant of mine^ ^ You can enjoy exquisite French cuisine here! It's a bit pricey, but considering the location, taste, service, and atmosphere, I think it's worth it^ ^ The chef is friendly and easy to talk to! I love this cozy restaurant^ ^

Born and raised in Kyoto, I realized there's still so much of Kyoto I don't know. I took the first step into adulthood and visited Miyagawa-cho for the first time. Miyagawa-cho Saka is a Franco-Japanese Western-style restaurant. I've always loved Gorgonzola blue cheese and often made it at home, but the difference in quality here is amazing. The creamy, smooth Gorgonzola combined with cream is even more mellow and delicious. The unique taste of the blue mold is still present, making it incredibly delicious. Not just the location, but the taste as well was a first-time favorite for me. The timing and preparation are all done professionally. Recently, I tried the caviar on the menu, and I still love its taste. It has a slight acidity, a seaweed aroma, a unique fish roe-like scent, a slightly fermented flavor, and a refined saltiness. It's so delicious, I might get addicted! By the way, I used to think sturgeons were sharks, but they are freshwater fish. They are raised in the Tokai region in Japan and sell caviar. I'll try the original and Japanese versions next time. The tomato and mozzarella with balsamic sauce were excellent. The sauce brought out the best parts of balsamic without being overpowering. The grilled herb-seasoned collar of the sea bass was crispy and paired well with the herbal aroma. The champagne, wine, sherry, and my favorite grappa, aged in barrels, were all delicious with flavors I love. It was a highly anticipated place for me, and I had a delicious, new experience. It was a very satisfying and enjoyable evening. Thank you for the meal!

I went to a tea house for New Year's greetings and then headed to "Kyoto French Miyagawa-cho Saka" on that day. The wines we drank were: ▪️ Bollinger for a toast, ▪️ Chateau Margaux 2008 for 120,000 yen. The more you let Margaux, one of the five major chateaus, breathe, the more its aroma and weight become prominent. ▪️ Vougeot 1er Cru "Clos des Alles 2011" for 28,000 yen. I also like Vougeot, so this is also Burgundy. "Miyagawa-cho Saka" is a French restaurant in Kyoto's Higashiyama-ku, Miyagawa-suji, with Italian-French influences, known as a Western-style ryotei. The menu is mainly à la carte, focusing on seasonal seafood, domestic meats, game, and vegetables cooked using Italian and French techniques. They also have a variety of pasta dishes and set courses available. This time, we enjoyed the "Seasonal Omakase Course" that was ordered for us. The 1st floor has an open counter seat, while the 2nd floor has table seats in tatami rooms and sunken kotatsu tables. We had a full-house reservation on the 2nd floor. The course included "Seasonal Omakase Course" - enjoy seasonal ingredients in a guaranteed private room in a Kyoto machiya... featuring 3 appetizers, fish, meat dishes, and more for a total of 7 dishes for 18,500 yen per person. The dishes included: ▪️ Kushiro-grown live clams and Yamashiro-grown rapeseed flowers with mustard sauce. ▪️ French bread, which was a light baguette. Kyoto has delicious bread too. ▪️ Sauteed Karasumi from Sakaiminato, served with anchovy sauce made with versatile green onions. ▪️ Coppe crab from Tsuiyama and fruit tomatoes from Kochi with vinaigrette and kelp jelly. ▪️ Steamed white sea bream from Yahatahama with black mozuku sauce from Nanao, featuring vibrant organic vegetables. ▪️ Onion gratin soup with Omi beef fillet meatballs, served with Flattina and smoked cheese. ▪️ Spaghetti with "Ginan" from Soejima and "Colatura" from Naples, a sauce with beans cooked until they are soft enough to crush. ▪️ La France pear cake from Yamagata and Amaretto ice cream. Classic French dessert with caramel sauce. Mostly Japanese-style, so it's light.

This is a review from a previous visit. I have used it about three times. On this day, I dined at the counter seats. There are private rooms on the second floor as well. The beautifully arranged dishes on stylish plates were not only visually appealing but also delicious, and they paired well with wine. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very nice, so I highly recommend it to those who love Italian cuisine.

The restaurant is located in Miyagawacho, Kyoto, facing a narrow alley. We left with plenty of time for our reservation, but encountered a small issue, so we ended up taking a taxi from Shijo-Karasuma in a hurry. We got lost in the intricate streets, making an extra round before finally arriving. For first-time visitors, it's advisable to come with some extra time. The ambiance of the restaurant is very Japanese, both in its exterior and interior, yet the menu is Italian. It's a unique blend that seems to work well in the ancient city of Kyoto. The first floor offers both à la carte and set menu options at the counter, while the second floor seems to have only set menus in private rooms (we dined on the first floor this time). The atmosphere inside is calm, allowing you to leisurely enjoy your meal. The menu is filled with daily recommended ingredients and dishes made from them. With a glass of white wine in hand, I found myself (unusually) struggling to decide what to order, as each option was enticing. There is a wide variety of dishes available, from vegetables and seafood to meat and pasta. Just the fact that an à la carte menu of this caliber is prepared at this restaurant is uplifting. Although I usually refrain from taking photos to focus on the food, on this day, I ordered fresh oysters, white asparagus, red snapper carpaccio, and a seasonal pasta—all of which were delicious. While the seafood happened to dominate, the meat options also looked appetizing. I look forward to returning and enjoying a completely different combination of dishes next time. As for drinks, I stuck to my usual choices of a glass of white wine and a bottle of red. The bottle selection seems to include both high-end and reasonably priced options, offering a variety to choose from. Although the estimated cost per person on Tabelog ranges from 20,000 to 30,000 yen, if you opt for à la carte and moderate-priced wines, it won't be as expensive. You can likely visit with a bit more ease. The restaurant's atmosphere, as mentioned earlier, is calm and well-balanced, not edgy or tense, so there's no need to worry. With its extensive menu, quality dishes, pleasant ambiance, and value for money, I believe this restaurant deserves top marks.

I was treated to a meal by a client at a special restaurant in Kyoto recommended by a local. This place is also wonderful, with a charming atmosphere of the city. Located in the flower district of Miyagawa-cho, they serve French-Italian cuisine at the counter. We shared six dishes after the appetizers - egg and white truffle (simple but incredibly delicious), crab (in a salad style), shiitake mushrooms (stuffed with cheese, olive oil, and pepper), sea urchin (served with turnip from the Shogoin Temple), fugu (grilled and tender), and fugu (gratin with milt). My dining companion didn't drink alcohol, so I enjoyed a glass of Duvel without hesitation. It felt like the perfect choice with this menu. Everything was incredibly delicious. The clientele was very elegant as well. I wish I could effortlessly frequent such establishments.

My ranking of the most delicious things I've ever eaten has been completely rearranged. It was amazing~ The interior is lovely, with a polished single-board counter, walls finished in plaster here and there, and dark beams that create an elegant and clean atmosphere. The restrooms are tidy and have a high-class feel. The dishes are exquisite, bringing out the brilliance of the ingredients with their seasoning. The deliciousness that can be felt just by looking at them makes all five senses overflow with joy. The service is attentive and friendly, making you forget the passage of time. It's the perfect place to spend a wonderful time with someone special on a special occasion. I would love to visit this restaurant again! I was so busy experiencing it with all my senses that I didn't have time to take photos. I apologize for only providing text. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
