Fukuoka Prefecture, Ukiha [Nijinoyado Hanakeshiki] Theme: Fukuoka Prefecture Hot Springs & Sightseeing & Ryokan
Before I knew it, September has arrived. I changed from iPhone to iPad & flip phone, and being unfamiliar with it, my blog has been neglected. Currently, Marumero's family is at a crossroads in life... What should I do...?
Today was the opening ceremony at school for Dora, so she had morning childcare and then played with her friends on bicycles in the afternoon. If we move, we won't be able to go out like this with friends anymore... It feels a bit sad (tears).
Now, back to the main topic - continuing the Bon vacation trip. After leaving Beppu, the kids were tired, and the next day was my husband's family's Bon ceremony, so we thought we could finally go home... but both parents insisted on staying another night! Their favorite inn where they had stayed a few times before. The Rainbow Inn Hanakeshiki.
The landlady said they were fully booked, but the very kind president who loves ducks somehow (I wonder how he managed it?) arranged a room and meals for us. He showed us how to hatch and raise ducks, even feeding them. There is also a kids' room, and I think it's easy for families with children to use. There were kids' yukatas, but they seemed to be only for elementary school students or older (or older preschoolers with large bodies).
Since it was the day of dinner, they couldn't make the usual dishes, so there were very few hot pot dishes (the one in the photo is for three people). I think it would have been better if they had served the regular menu. I always have doubts about my parents' actions, thinking, "If we were going to stay another night, we should have made a reservation in advance."
The private bath that used to be all-you-can-enter was limited to one use with a ticket. It was very good, the best among the three inns we visited during the Bon season. There are main and annex public baths, and the main building even has a slide. It was a bit intimidating for my timid kids to soak their faces in the water.
The breakfast was a normal menu. The appearance is old-fashioned and gorgeous, but the hot spring water is very good, and the president is kind, allowing us to see the ducks, making it a good inn.
