After a business meeting, we were invited to a dinner at this place for the first time. Unlike regular daruma, we had a course of creative kushikatsu. The creative kushikatsu brought out one after another was all delicious, and I was impressed by the luxurious hospitality, taking lots of photos (laughs). In the end, we also ordered regular kushikatsu from downstairs and finished with my favorite pickled ginger! The Hakushu highball was also delicious ~(≧▽≦)

Due to certain circumstances, I ended up going out to eat with my juniors, and I thought of trying Osaka's famous kushikatsu. However, I suddenly became anxious thinking that regular kushikatsu might not be enough, so I made a reservation at "Daruma Kiwami" on the 3rd floor of "Daruma Building". I also just wanted to go to Kita-Shinchi. The first floor of the building is the regular "Daruma" and it is quite crowded with waiting customers. As expected, it is very popular. I took the elevator to the 3rd floor, where I was guided to a private room. I felt a slight sense of superiority and a bit of regret for not choosing the 1st floor. The table was already set with a teppan (iron plate). I see, this is the style here. No more "no double dipping" rules or anything like that. I left the kushikatsu selection to the chef. We started with a toast with beer, and the kushikatsu arrived promptly. The first one had salmon roe on top, with rice inside, a unique combination. We continued with bacon quail with an ethnic sauce, followed by conger eel topped with grated yam and pickled plum. Amazing. Not a single familiar kushikatsu appeared. The creativity of these kushikatsu is impressive. Next was Bungo beef with truffle. Truffle, teacher. I got so excited that I forgot to take a picture. Then came the angel prawn. Finally, something simple. The sweet potato mochi had a small fried egg on top, visually appealing. The smoked salmon and tartar sauce had salmon roe on top once again, luxurious. The eggplant and duck were not even kushikatsu anymore. The course ended with yam, sea bass, and Camembert. It was a fun experience to have unexpected items served throughout the course. Despite eating so much, my stomach didn't feel heavy, so there must be some trick to it. After finishing the course, you can also order from the regular Daruma menu on the 1st floor, so I ordered red sausages and dipped them in sauce. So comforting. I also added doteyaki and cucumber, enjoying them with white wine. What a mismatch. Creative kushikatsu is great, and so is the traditional one. It was a night where I felt that Osaka's culture is also evolving.

I visited Daruma Kiwami for the first time, a high-end Daruma restaurant. This place offers a variety of creative deep-fried skewers that are not only delicious but also visually appealing! Of course, you can also order from Daruma's regular menu! Instagram ID: kuidaore.8.

I was taken to a high-end restaurant in Osaka famous for its touristy kushikatsu by my senior at work. Location: It's very close to Kitashinchi Station. Order: Omakase course (they keep serving until you say stop, haha) Impression: It's not all-you-can-eat, so you have to be careful with when to stop, otherwise it can get expensive quickly, haha. It truly feels like a creative high-end restaurant, as they serve unique kushikatsu that are different from the usual ones. The image of casual kushikatsu in Osaka is completely overturned with their menu. The kushikatsu at Daruma is crispy and recommended to be eaten right away due to the good oil they use. I usually like the casual kushikatsu at Daruma, but this fresh kushikatsu was really delicious!

Ginza 6-chome has many high-end shops, so I had high expectations when I went there, but the taste was average. The appearance is beautiful and it's a new type of kushikatsu restaurant with innovative dipping sauces, but it seemed to lack the basic deliciousness of kushikatsu. Also, when they brought out raw vegetables as the first appetizer, some of them were hard and difficult to eat, which is unacceptable for a top-notch restaurant. The phone response and customer service were not that great either, and it didn't quite match the price.

During a business trip to Osaka, I was invited to have drinks at a place called "Daruma" by a local. I thought it would be a casual pub with skewers, but when I arrived at the 3rd floor of the Shinchi branch, it turned out to be a high-end establishment with a reserved counter seat for a course menu. Each skewer was carefully crafted and you couldn't even dip it twice. Once we finished the course, they brought skewers from the lower-level casual restaurant. They provided a sauce container for dipping, but it was just for show as it was the same sauce that was individually served with each skewer. It was a unique and interesting experience.

I was on a business trip to Osaka, so I decided to have a lunch that is typical of Osaka at "Daruma". I had kushikatsu, doteyaki, namatama, and oshinko. It was a lunch that made me want to eat a lot of rice. I could easily have another bowl of rice with just the doteyaki. The kushikatsu was fried to perfection and really delicious. It made me want to have a beer. ^^

I had been to the usual 1st and 2nd floor Daruma, but this was my first time at the upscale 3rd floor Daruma. I made a reservation for a weekday night. The creative deep-fried skewers were all elaborate and delicious! Each one had a good balance of sauce and flavor. The lobster with Americaine sauce was also delicious. I love casual skewer katsu, but the creative deep-fried skewers here were also great. Thanks to the service and atmosphere, I was able to relax and enjoy my time. Thank you for the meal.

I have visited several fashionable kushikatsu restaurants, but this was my first time here. They offer courses where you can choose the number of skewers, and they have a stop system. It's a place where you can enjoy wine and kushikatsu. It's not particularly amazing, but it was delicious. However, it seems like it can't beat "Kawa to Yama". It's nice that you can also order from the regular menu on the first floor. They bring you special sauce and are kind. It has a special feeling, so it's great for a date.

This is a high-priced restaurant with a fancy atmosphere. The courses start at around 5,000 yen and the drinks are also expensive. The skewers are creative with cheese and sauce, but the main ingredient, the cutlet, seems mismatched as it is simply fried. They use decent ingredients like shrimp and scallops, so the high prices are somewhat understandable. However, the value provided does not match the high prices in terms of taste and atmosphere. The staff are not well-trained and their behavior can disrupt the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. In the end, it would be more reasonable and satisfying to visit a normal restaurant like Daruma instead. They seem to aim for a high-class kaiseki experience, but they have not quite reached the level of being delicious. It's not bad, but the cost performance is poor.

We made a reservation for two people with our partner for the third time before 7:00 PM on a weekday. The restaurant had a floor on the third floor dedicated to creative deep-fried skewers, while the first and second floors offered the same menu as the shops in Shinsekai. We were seated at a counter and were offered a course called "Sai Mi Course" for 4,500 yen, which included aperitif, appetizer, side dish, 9 skewers, seasonal rice bowl, rice with miso soup, and dessert. The skewers in the course were creative deep-fried skewers, starting with "car shrimp" and changing depending on the season. We also ordered additional skewers before the rice was served, including squid, yellowtail, quail, yam, original deep-fried skewer, cheese fish cake, and sweet corn. We had a glass of draft beer (650 yen) and a bottle of white wine (5,000 yen). The wine menu had about 5 white and 8 red bottles ranging from 3,500 yen to 50,000 yen. The pricing seemed quite high to me, and the white wine we had didn't seem to offer good value for the price. The total bill came to just over 16,000 yen. Although we were quite full after the meal, I personally felt that it was quite expensive. The restroom on the third floor, near the elevator, had separate facilities for men and women, with one for women. The washbasin inside was spacious, and they provided amenities that were appreciated by women.

I was licking my lips (-_-;) It was just kushikatsu after all... I'm sorry <m(__)m> I definitely don't dislike "Daruma". The first time, I visited the shop under Tsutenkaku, and unexpectedly received a "Daruma" sticker from Mr. Akai. After that, I visited the main store, as well as the Lucua and Dotonbori branches multiple times! I even found out from their website that there is a high-end shop. Of course, I had to check it out! So off to Kitashinchi we went (^u^) First, I couldn't find the entrance. The 1st floor had the entrance to "Daruma," but to my surprise, there was an elevator inside "Daruma" that took you to "Kiwami". It's just my wild imagination, but maybe they renovated it later? Well, that doesn't affect many people, so I'll just move on. When I entered the shop, I was amazed by the different atmosphere. It felt like a ryotei or kappo? Suddenly, I felt like a celebrity (^_-)-☆ I was guided to a private room... unbelievable! The appetizers were so fancy, and there was a wooden stand with a metal top, like the alcohol lamps from science experiments, keeping the food warm! It was an unbelievable sight \(◎o◎)/! And the dishes that came out were amazing! There was no need for sauce. It was like art, not just food. I was so excited that I couldn't take my eyes off the kushikatsu. The taste was different too. The batter was subtly different, but I couldn't quite figure it out. But it was delicious! I felt like I could eat so many. However, my old body can't handle fried food... Oh well, let's just eat this time! I dove into the food, entering the red zone of eating and drinking. Overall, I think it was a set course meal, but I recommend leaving it up to the chef. The overwhelming atmosphere of the restaurant, combined with the satisfaction of being full, was truly enjoyable (^_-)-☆

I love eating kushikatsu from "Daruma" a few times a year, but this time I found out about creative kushikatsu and decided to visit "Kiwami" in Umeda by taxi from Shinsekai. When I ordered the course meal, I was told that I could also try the original "Daruma" kushikatsu, so I decided to order my usual kushikatsu as well. The creative kushikatsu was the best I've ever had, it was really impressive. While I still prefer the original "Daruma" kushikatsu, I would like to come here occasionally to relax and enjoy a meal.

Kitashinchi. I landed in the so-called "Kita" for the first time. Since I came all the way to Osaka, my business partners took me to a kushikatsu restaurant. Daruma Goku. This high-end kushikatsu restaurant is the most famous in Osaka. The Osaka local rule of "double dipping in the sauce is prohibited" does not apply at this restaurant. They provide my own sauce. It's really luxurious♪( ´▽`) Each kushikatsu is crispy and juicy. I don't usually like greasy food, but I could eat as much of this as I want. It has a calm atmosphere, so it seems like a place where families would enjoy. It was great! Next time, I want to try the main store in Shinsekai. But I'm a little nervous about the double dipping prohibition... Daruma Goku. Highly recommended! Thank you...
