Hidden in a back alley in Dong Shinsaibashi, Soemoncho, is Yonagi, a restaurant where you can enjoy horumon skewers cooked on a hot plate and the local specialty of horumon yaki udon. The deep atmosphere reminiscent of a food stall, along with the richly flavored horumon skewers and horumon yaki udon cooked in a savory sauce, make this place a must-visit spot. Despite being located in Soemoncho, the atmosphere is unexpectedly unique, making it a highly recommended dining experience.Visited in February 2022, I stumbled upon Yonagi while craving for some hearty Chinese food. The narrow counter-only establishment exudes a stall-like ambiance, which adds to its charm. I started with a sweet potato shochu for 500 yen and then indulged in some horumon skewers and horumon yaki udon. The quality of the meat exceeded my expectations, with the juicy harami and chewy mino perfectly complemented by the rich sauce. Watching them cook right in front of me on the hot plate made my mouth water. The horumon yaki udon, learned from the owner's time in Tsuyama, was a true delicacy. The combination of cabbage, generous portions of horumon, and flavorful miso sauce with udon was a match made in heaven. It paired even better with alcohol than the horumon skewers. I finished off with a second round of shochu, bringing the total to 2000 yen. The joy of savoring richly flavored dishes in such an atmospheric setting is truly delightful. And not to mention, the cuteness of the staff adds to the overall experience! Bon appétit!

After entering a side street, you will see this shop with many bicycles parked outside. It seems to be a local bar, and their specialty is yakisoba. We decided to finish our meal with some skewers. Many people were getting yakisoba for takeout. Thank you for the meal!

I went to a hidden alley OPEN place that only people who know about it would pass by, and I was the only one there! It's a secret spot that seems to get crowded from late at night. It's like a second branch of the nearby bar "Kazeato". The hormone skewers are cheap and delicious! They also have a small size of hormone yakisoba for a nice finish. It's a small shop, but if you're prepared to drink outside, groups are welcome (lol). Even if you go alone, the staff will chat with you cheerfully, so you won't feel lonely. The owner was also there, and I had a fun time drinking. It's so interesting that I want to keep going and make various requests (lol).

Hidden gem horumon (offal) yakisoba shop in the back alley! A new horumon (offal) shop has opened in Minami! The shop has a counter-only, half-standing style, making it easy to enter (laughs). The horumon is grilled on skewers right in front of you on a hot plate. The smell is amazing! To finish off, try the horumon yakisoba! The fragrant smell and the udon being grilled right in front of you are the best!
