This is my second visit! I came to eat the gyoza that I couldn't try the first time! First, I had fresh oysters and shrimp! Delicious... I really love seafood (laughs). Anyway, I tried various dishes at Gozukon, a versatile restaurant. I also had the garlic shrimp and ginkgo nuts! I eat ginkgo nuts in many places, but it was the first time a restaurant peeled them halfway. Very easy to eat! And the gyoza... it was delicious even without sauce, the flavor was just right, so tasty! This time, I sat at the counter again, and it was fully booked. It seems to be a popular restaurant, so making a reservation is a good idea!

An abundance of exquisite dishes that made me eat too much because they were so delicious. Chateaubriand fillet cutlet!? The cream croquette with crab and shrimp was so delicious that we just looked at each other in amazement. The dumplings eaten with vinegar and pepper were exquisite and I wanted more. The finale of snapping turtle ramen was so luxurious that it felt like I was being punished. Unbelievable. I must go back again. Note: The prices of each dish are completely unknown. It's mind-blowing.

When it comes to finding delicious seafood in Kyoto, it can be quite challenging. While this place also serves tasty meat dishes, the seafood here is truly delicious, which is why I have visited multiple times. There is one semi-private table and a counter seat. The seating area is relatively spacious, allowing you to relax without worrying about the people next to you. The service is excellent, with friendly staff who engage in enjoyable conversations and maintain an appropriate distance based on each customer. The food is all delicious, and the drinks flow easily. The staff are kind, as when I requested an eel rice bowl even though it wasn't on the menu, they made it for me. I am truly grateful. This is a restaurant that makes you want to come back again and again. I highly recommend that everyone give it a try.

It was incredibly delicious. Especially the white asparagus with gorgonzola, the dumplings, and the red miso mapo tofu. Even coming from afar, it's one of the few restaurants I would love to visit again. The prices are on the higher side, but everything was so delicious that I left completely satisfied. The staff at the restaurant were also very friendly, and they made my night in Kyoto wonderful. Thank you for the feast.

Despite being located in the crowded Gion district on a sunny Saturday, this restaurant is a very nice place where adults can relax. It has a long counter and one table for four people. It's comfortable even for solo diners! The master chef, who is very particular about ingredients, is not condescending or stubborn like some artisans, but a friendly middle-aged man - a delight for Tokyoites. Here, you can enjoy exceptionally delicious dishes that blend Japanese and Western influences. Memorable items include: - Abalone fry with a delicious liver tartare topping - A long, snow-like cheese-covered dish of fried white asparagus wrapped in prosciutto. The balance of saltiness and the aroma and texture of white asparagus is exquisite. - Small dumplings made with a unique blend of pork from Yamagata - simply wrapped in seaweed with sea urchin. Pure bliss.

Based on my friend's recommendation, we had a meal here. We all enjoyed it together. Setting aside the cost, the service and the taste of the food were excellent. I would love to come back if I have the chance. Thank you and looking forward to visiting again.

Finally visited Kozukon for the first time. They offer a wide range of delicious dishes from Japanese to Western cuisine. The specialty gyoza is exquisite. The chef's personality is also wonderful, explaining why it's such a popular restaurant. Located in Gion and open even on Sundays. Highly recommended for a happy time, even for a date.

The food is delicious and of high quality. The counter serves a la carte dishes mainly. The hairy crab is amazing, especially with vinegar and wasabi. The sashimi, grilled chicken, and fatty tuna are delicious. The cheese and fruit salad is tasty. The tempura is also delicious. The dashimaki omelette, white asparagus with prosciutto are delicious!

"Gyoza Gozukon" in Kawaramachi, Kyoto, on Tabelog with a rating of 3.52 ❤️ Popular gyoza specialty shop near Nishiki Market. There are two types of gyoza available. Nishiki Gyoza is the normal type made with pork, vegetables, chicken broth, and a secret sauce with garlic, creating a flavorful filling with a nice texture of vegetables and juicy meat, and crispy skin that everyone should love. Gion Gyoza is limited to 30 servings per day, with a double-layer of pork bone soup that oozes out like a soup dumpling! Recommended dipping sauce is 'vinegar and pepper,' both with strong flavors that complement the garlicky gyoza and refreshing vinegar and pepper perfectly. They are bite-sized and you could easily keep popping them in ❤️ #KansaiGourmet #KansaiLunch #KansaiDinner #KansaiCafe #KyotoGourmet #KyotoLunch #KyotoDinner #KyotoCafe #KawaramachiGourmet #KawaramachiLunch #KawaramachiDinner #KyotoIzakaya #KawaramachiIzakaya #GionShijoGourmet #Gyoza #NishikiMarket #NishikiMarketGourmet #GyozaSpecialtyShop #KyotoSightseeing #Kyoto #Kawaramachi #GionShijo #instafood #foodstagram #FoodieGirls #Osaka #Kyoto #GyozaGozukon"

The dishes such as red snapper sashimi, pufferfish shirako with ponzu sauce, bamboo shoot simmered dish, and beef cutlet were delicious. However, the tiger puffer tempura was mediocre. The batter was a bit soggy and the seasoning wasn't to my liking. The dumplings were quite oily, not as impressive as expected, but still tasty. The omakase set for half was 6000 yen plus a few other dishes and two drinks, totaling around 20,000 yen per person. I felt it was a bit pricey considering the quality and quantity. It was concerning that none of the staff were wearing masks, but the service was good.

I was hesitant until the last minute whether to visit Kyoto in late autumn, but I decided to avoid Osaka and head to Kyoto instead. I took a limousine bus from Itami Airport to Yasakaguchi and then a taxi to Gion. The restaurant was a bit away from Gion, but easy to find! The restaurant had a counter-centered layout and was fully booked inside. I was glad I made a reservation. I heard it was a wine shop, but they also had a good selection of Japanese sake, including Saito Sake Brewery's Eikun and Yadorigi, which were excellent. We opted for the half-omakase course, but the mackerel sushi looked so delicious that we ordered it separately. Every dish had a rich broth, and I was able to enjoy a new sensation of Kyoto cuisine.

To Gozukon. Originally planned to go to a different restaurant, but it was closed, so decided to try Gozukon based on the rumors. Managed to get a seat at the counter. Tried the famous gyoza seasoned with vinegar and pepper, it was refreshing and delicious. Grilled young corn, eggplant, white asparagus tempura, and seafood-packed cream croquette were all tasty. The standout dish today was the zuwaigani crab meatballs, incredibly delicious with a ginger accent. Rice dishes are also said to be delicious, but I was too full today, will have to try them next time! It was a great restaurant experience.

On the second stop of my first day in Kyoto trip, I visited this restaurant. I was worried because it was a same-day reservation, but when I called, they had a seat available for me. Luckily, I was able to find a parking spot near the restaurant at a coin parking lot. Inside, it was a counter-style restaurant, and the staff welcomed me warmly. Although the menu did not list prices (perhaps it was market price), I decided to order what I wanted to try. Unfortunately, the fugu shirako ponzu was sold out, but I enjoyed dishes like sea cucumber seafood cream croquette, Tanba Jidori chicken tataki with green onion ponzu, and grilled mackerel with grated daikon. The drink options included refreshing ginger ale and fresh tomato juice, which were both delicious. Each dish was a bit small in portion, but they were all undeniably tasty. The staff was friendly and made the experience even better.

I used this restaurant for a family meal. My son loves fried food, so we ordered a variety of dishes. The oyster fry was the most delicious, with a crispy coating. The staff were very friendly, and the interior of the restaurant felt clean. I will definitely use this restaurant again.

I tried the highly recommended gyoza by the staff. Instead of the common soy sauce-based sauce, it was served with a vinegar and salt and pepper dressing. The filling seemed to be carefully made, as it had a nice firm texture. The skin was also crispy, and I definitely want to go back for more.

I was quite happy to find a place where I could enjoy "torisashi" (chicken sashimi) in Kyoto, as there are not many places that offer it. It was perfect as a snack with sake and paired well with a cold beer. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was nice, and the interior of the restaurant was clean, so I was very satisfied. I would like to visit again with my family.

After work, I decided to stop by in Gion with my colleagues for a drink. The menu had no prices or pictures, so it was a complete surprise what dishes would come out, which made it even more exciting. Personally, the matsutake mushroom fry was exquisite. I will definitely visit again.

Finally, I was able to secure a reservation. It's a very popular restaurant. Why is it so popular? The food is delicious. Considering its location in Gion, Kyoto, the cost performance is excellent. Moreover, the service is friendly and naturally attentive. It was a valuable dinner. - Appetizer - Delicious chilled tofu... just as the name suggests. - Assorted sashimi... bluefin tuna, swordtip squid, octopus, sea urchin, and whelk. The swordtip squid and octopus were served with yuzu salt. - Fresh oysters - Specialty gyoza with goscon - Peach and prosciutto salad - Salted Pacific saury - Fried swordtip squid - Crab omelette with plenty of snow crab - Minced cutlet - Red miso mapo tofu - Matsutake mushroom fry - Seafood cream croquette - Nostalgic Neapolitan spaghetti - Macana curry Everything was delicious. When you can't decide what to eat, a place like this is perfect! Thank you for the meal.

My rating is 4.3 [Food & Taste 4.6 | Service 4.0 | Atmosphere 4.2 | Cost Performance 4.1 | Alcohol & Drinks 4.2]. It was a bit late for a birthday celebration, but we chose this restaurant that we have been patronizing for years. The first floor was full when we arrived, but we were accommodated quickly. Here is a list of what we had: sashimi, triggerfish, tuna, burrata cheese and tomato salad, cold tofu, simmered octopus, grilled eggplant, eel, beef stew, and fish somen as a starter. The eel skin was an interesting touch. The sommelier recommended a rosé wine, which had a crisp and refreshing taste. The triggerfish, which I usually don't like, was surprisingly delicious here, especially with the special triggerfish liver sauce. The tuna, sourced from Okinawa and Kochi, was beautifully presented and melted in the mouth. The burrata cheese and tomato dish was delicate and challenging to handle due to its short shelf life. The cold tofu, simmered octopus, and grilled eggplant felt like typical izakaya dishes, but the simplicity and quality were highlights. The eel, with its crispy skin and tender meat, was a standout. We were considering the turtle soup ramen for dessert, but the highly recommended "rarely served" beef stew caught our attention. It was truly delicious and a must-try item. We were also treated to red wine by the staff, creating a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Encountering a great restaurant that has stood the test of time is a true blessing. We left feeling content and grateful for the experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
