One of my favorite restaurants is the seafood wholesaler Gyosaku Don Apollo store! Whenever I go, I always sit at the counter. It's fun to eat while chatting with the chef face to face in a lively atmosphere. I once sat at a table, but it was a bit unsatisfying because I missed the high-energy interaction with the chef that is the highlight of this place (laughs). Since then, I've only sat at the counter. The whole place is filled with Hanshin Tigers colors, but even if you don't know baseball, it's okay. If you honestly say you don't understand, they won't bring up baseball-related topics. The atmosphere of the restaurant can be described in one word: "noisy" (laughs). It's a really good kind of "noisy"! Recommended for those who enjoy chatting and eating while interacting with the staff. However, it can be quite unpleasant for those who don't like noisy places or when the staff quickly ask, "What's next?" The food is mainly fish! When you go, don't open the menu right away, but look at the rolled paper in the tube on the table. The daily recommended menu is listed there (usually in the upper left corner). You can also decide on the menu while chatting with the chef, even if it's not on the menu. It goes something like, "What's the recommendation today?" "This is delicious." "How is it cooked?" "Both boiling and grilling are delicious, but especially this one." "Then I'll have that." And the energy level is high! When you exclaim how delicious the fish cooked by following the above method is, a staff member on the floor will say a word. Staff: "Yes! It's delicious!" Chef: "It's delicious! Whether boiled or grilled, it's delicious!" Floor 2: "Yes! It's delicious!" And it continues like a game of telephone, with "It's delicious!" echoing throughout the restaurant. This is what liveliness means. The banter between the chef and the floor staff is entertaining, and there's also subtle banter with customers (probably regulars). Once you get used to the place, it might be fun to join in the conversation? (I always join in like crazy) There's also a wide variety of sake and other alcoholic beverages. Be sure to ask the chief-like staff member on the floor. He is quite knowledgeable about sake. There's also a female staff member who is incredibly knowledgeable about sake, which is interesting (laughs). In terms of price, it's on the higher side for a place frequented by women in their early twenties. Depending on what you order, if two people go and each has around 3-4 drinks, a sashimi platter, 2-3 soup dishes, and 1 sushi roll, it's around 5000 yen per person. It's still a bit expensive for someone in their early twenties, but it has a charm that makes you want to come back. The rating is "One of my top favorite restaurants - might be tough for those who don't like noise" and it has an overall high rating of 4.5 points.
