I visited "Asahiyama Zoo Club Pan Bakery" on May 28th for the first time. It is a bakery located inside Asahiyama Zoo where there are ducks, etc., across from the Toinomura facility. I had never noticed there was a bakery there before (lol). Their melon bread is apparently famous. I visited at 10:40 am. Since I hadn't had breakfast yet, I had a light breakfast. It was an early hour so they had all the items available. I purchased: - Melon bread for 200 yen - Melon bread rusk for 180 yen - Butter croissant for 260 yen. The paper bag containing the bread has a design of bear footprints. Hmmm, a bit surreal since there was a report of bear sightings near the zoo two days ago. There is a rest area in a separate building on the left side, so I ate there. It's probably better not to eat outdoors as you may be attacked by the crows that are learning. Now, onto tasting the melon bread. The surface is crispy, which I like. It's relatively not too sweet. The bottom part is like... the texture and taste of a scone. It might be a bit of a love it or hate it situation. Bon appétit.

The recommendation from a junior. I went early, but they were already sold out, which surprised me. By the time the pastries were ready, there was already a line, and some people were buying in large quantities. You can tell it's really popular. - Melon Pan: I was surprised by how fluffy the inside was. The crispy, fragrant exterior paired well with it, making me feel happy. It was a high-quality melon pan that lived up to its popularity.

Melon bread seems to be the most popular item here, so I decided to try it. The outside is crispy and the inside is fluffy, making for a delicious melon bread. It's tasty, but maybe a bit pricey for what you get. The prices inside the facility are quite reasonable and the quality is good, so it's a nice option when you're feeling a bit hungry. The zoo is surprisingly compact, so it's perfect for a light lunch. Thank you for the meal!

This time, I stayed in Asahikawa and visited Asahiyama Zoo for the first time. Asahikawa is a cold region unique to Japan, and the mornings in October are quite cold compared to Sapporo. But today, the weather is nice. As I entered the park and saw the animal exhibits, I also found a bakery and decided to go in. There were not many types of bread, but they all looked delicious. I bought four kinds, including "Apple Pie" and "Wiener," and enjoyed them at a table outside the shop. There was a sign on the table warning about crows. The "Apple Pie" had a crispy Danish pastry with plenty of butter and a generous amount of apple filling, with the sweetness of the filling being balanced by a mild sweetness overall. It was a delicious bread with a good balance. The "Wiener" also had a Danish pastry with a hearty wiener sandwiched inside, creating a good balance between the texture of the wiener and the bread. I don't think there are many places that serve such high-quality bread at a zoo. Overall, it was a zoo of high quality in every aspect.

During my trip to Hokkaido in early autumn 2022, I visited Asahiyama Zoo, which was a dream come true for me. The zoo showcases various animals behaving naturally in their habitats, which is amazing to see. One thing that caught my attention was the original animal cookies sold at the zoo. There are six different types available, including wolf and rabbit cookies. In addition to the cookies, the zoo also offers a variety of pastries like croissants, melon bread, and French apple pie. I decided to purchase the cocoa-flavored wolf and strawberry-flavored rabbit cookies. The cute pink rabbit face and the mischievous wolf face were both adorable. Although I didn't buy all the cookie varieties, I enjoyed trying these two. The cookies are perfect as souvenirs, but be careful as they are fragile. Overall, it was a delightful treat.

Asahiyama Zoo, a popular spot on the Asahikawa travel route. The zoo is located on a mountain, so there are many slopes which can be a bit tiring. After lunch, I had a snack with bread from here. (I also had ice cream from the ranch near the main entrance afterwards.) The selection was already limited, and I debated between the cream cheese bread and the melon bread, ultimately choosing the most popular melon bread. It cost 200 yen. It had a lighter appearance compared to regular melon bread. When I broke it with my hands, it was fluffy and light. It wasn't coated with sugar, so it wasn't sticky, which was nice. It had a crispy, cookie-like texture. The inside was fluffy. It had a smooth mouthfeel without being dry. Although it didn't have a strong melon flavor, the light texture made it a perfect snack.

This is a report from Asahikawa (lol). I visited Asahiyama Zoo and got hungry while walking around the spacious and hilly park, so I decided to stop by a popular bakery! I tried the "Melon Pan ¥200" and "French Apple Pie ¥270". I sat at the terrace seat and enjoyed the crispy outside and fluffy inside of the Melon Pan as advertised - it was delicious! The French Apple Pie had chunky apple slices with a great cinnamon aroma - also very tasty! I quickly finished both items and although the selection was limited in the afternoon, this bakery inside the park is recommended for a snack when you're feeling peckish! Thank you for the meal.

Location is Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. A famous zoo that attracts visitors from all over Japan. Since I had plenty of time before my flight back, I decided to take a bus and visit. It was nice to see the polar bears up close, but I was disappointed that the brown bears were not very active. On the way to the exit, I found a bakery inside the zoo. I bought a spinach and cheese bread for 330 yen. The outside was crispy and the saltiness of the spinach paste inside was wonderful and delicious. They must be baking them fresh on-site. Thank you for the meal.

Near the main entrance, there is a mountain hut-style bakery. Their specialty bread is the "Melon Pan" for 200 yen. It is popular among locals in Asahikawa, and many people make sure to buy it when they visit. As the sign says, the outside crust is crispy, while the inside is fluffy. It is loved by people of all ages and genders. If you love bread or enjoy visiting the zoo, be sure to try it out.

I purchased it when I went to Asahiyama Zoo. There was a long line, and it seems that melon bread is popular among various types of bread. I bought melon bread and melon cream bread, and they put the melon cream bread in the refrigerator and the melon bread was freshly baked. The melon cream bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with just the right amount of cream that was not too sweet, and I was satisfied even though it was priced at 250 yen. Animal cookies were also being sold, and they seemed to be popular as well.

I came to Asahiyama Zoo! I was surprised to find out that you can review the food at the shop using Tabelog. Although I am still inexperienced, I can't write good reviews yet. Anyway, as soon as we entered through the west gate, my family was more interested in the food than the animals. We bought a melon bread at the shop. We shared one melon bread among the three of us since we had just eaten breakfast. When we tore it apart to share, we were amazed by how soft it was. It was as fluffy as cotton candy and would easily crush with a little pressure. However, when we tasted it, the outside was crispy, giving a nice texture. The faint sweet scent of melon was delicious. It was the perfect start! Now, let's enjoy the zoo! Thank you for the meal!

It was my daughter's first time in Hokkaido. I had been thinking about taking her to Asahiyama Zoo if we ever went to Hokkaido. This trip was different from before, as we were also doing some sightseeing. It was cold in Asahikawa in November. It was snowing as well. There was a snow forecast right before our trip, which made us a bit worried, but seeing our daughter having so much fun in the snow lifted our spirits. I was concerned about taking a child in the cold weather, wondering if I had chosen the wrong time, but seeing other families with even smaller children and babies around made me feel better. Oh, we're not the only ones. Snow was actually good for the kids. The zoo had shorter opening hours than in summer, so we rushed through it, but managed to see everything. It was interesting to see the lively animals in the cold. We went to the bakery inside the zoo at the end. Since it was close to closing time, there weren't many bread left. We bought the most popular melon bread for 200 yen. It was a delicious melon bread with a gentle sweetness. (2018/11)

Asahiyama Zoo's famous melon pan. There were many other types of bread and cute animal-shaped cookies, but I decided to go with the melon pan. The melon pan here is not overly sweet, with a thin, crispy cookie dough on top. It has a real melon scent and flavor. It's best to eat it while it's still warm for a fluffy inside. I was amazed that I could eat such delicious melon pan at the zoo!

Taste: ★★★☆☆ Portion: ★★★☆☆ Cost performance: ★★★☆☆ At 200 yen per piece, I think it's relatively cheap for a tourist spot. The taste is decent too. However, I don't think it deserves a 3.5-star rating. The crust is crispy and the taste is reasonable for the price.

The outside is crispy, while the inside is slightly moist, making the melon bread the most popular item. The melon bread rusk is a limited quantity, whimsical menu item, so I should have bought it.

On a regular day, I head there in the early afternoon. Customers come one after another. I purchase an "Anko Croissant" for ¥280 and a "Melon Pan" for ¥200. They sell out quickly because they are freshly baked. The "Croissant" has a good balance of anko and butter, with a crispy and fragrant outer layer. The sesame seeds on the surface add a delicious crunch. The "Melon Pan" has a cookie-like outer layer and a super soft inside. You can taste the melon flavor, and it is of high quality. The sweetness is just right without any strange aftertaste. It's a shame that this bakery is hidden inside the park.
