A liquor store in Yakuin where you can also enjoy sake on tap. They start serving early, which is great. They have a wide selection of Japanese sake and wine, with a focus on natural wine. They offer a variety of authentic Western-style dishes as well. This time, I tried the herb-marinated olives. They were delicious, with a strong herb aroma. They pair well with natural wine. For my second drink, I had French gin with soda. Since it was evening, regular customers kept coming in one after another. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I have another place to go. I will definitely come back to enjoy more of their dishes at a leisurely pace.

Perfect for standing drinking! If you love sake and want to enjoy various flavors, this is the place to be. Since it's a standing bar, there are no chairs of course. For women (especially those wearing heels), you might feel like sitting down, so just leaning against the counter might be just right. The snacks come in a variety of options, and they are made by the staff. There are light and rich flavors, all designed to pair well with sake. The atmosphere has a somewhat organic/natural food vibe that I really liked. You can communicate your sake preferences, compare different types, and pay as you go. Just leave some money by the small bottle in front of you, and you can roughly keep track of your total bill. I initially planned to just stop by for a quick drink, but ended up chatting with the person next to me and stayed longer. That's how enjoyable it was!

The Christmas menu was special. I had the rare opportunity to try the Yamano Kotobuki sake, with an alcohol content of 15%. The New Sake "Nirugame 99" is made from Akita Komachi rice and is only polished to 1%, resulting in a surprisingly refreshing taste. It was a special Christmas Eve where I could enjoy these unique sakes.

I stopped by a udon restaurant for dinner and my wife insisted on visiting this place. It's a sake shop during the day but in the evening, you can sit in and enjoy sake. The place is very stylish and clean. They have small sake cups for 300 yen each, which is great for those who want to try different types of sake.

The Todoroki Sake Store, which used to be located in Hirao, moved to Yakuin last October. I had been planning to visit, so I took the opportunity before attending a spice and sake event in Sumiyoshi. We arrived at 5:00 pm for a quick pre-event gathering, as the event started at 6:00 pm. The counter was full, so they set up a small table for us. They offered four types of sake: Strong, Light, Rich, and Aged, and we tried the Light ones. We enjoyed sake from various regions, such as Tochigi, Aomori, Oita, and Akita. The staff recommended the Shinsei No.6 S-type, which had a nice punch to it. The Shinshu pork rillettes paired well with the sake. The event also featured spices sourced from Todoroki, and the staff mentioned that the main store representative would be at the event. Overall, it was a pleasant experience at Todoroki Sake Store.

This was the first time I visited this standing bar operated by Mudoroki Saketen in Santiku. I had been wanting to go to this place and thought it was on Takamiya Street, but it seems they have moved. Thanks to the information on Tabelog, I was able to confirm the location on the map. As I walked from Hirao and got off the car, I strolled down the street and noticed there are many interesting shops in this area that I never had the chance to visit! I passed by the busy Yawaya and walked a bit further to find the shop. The front is a sake shop, and the back is a bright and clean counter. The place was bustling with customers of all ages, from young to old. I ordered a refreshing sake from Tochigi as my friends were already enjoying their sake. I also tried the rillettes, which were handmade by the staff, with just the right amount of saltiness that complemented the sake well. The option to choose the size of the sake glass was a nice touch. The staff and other customers were recommending the NO6 sake, which my friend ordered and said it was delicious. I wanted to try it next, but time ran out, and we had to move on to the next place. However, the next place (event) also offered delicious sake and tasty dishes, making me feel happy and satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited Todoroki Saketen's stand, which has moved near the restaurant I was planning to visit as a pre-drinking spot. The place was already crowded, showing its popularity. Even though it may seem full at first glance, there are hidden seats in the back, so it's good to ask the staff. They offer a wide variety of wines and sake at affordable prices, with the option to choose the amount you want. I started with a rosé wine, and then tried the top-tier Eastern Beauty Ichiban Tamari sake, which was elegant and refined. Next, I had a top-notch brand of Togouchi, which was also excellent. It's said that this hidden sake can disappear in a day due to its value. Mixing wine and sake is also allowed here, so I recommend giving it a try. Although I wanted to try more drinks, I left satisfied with just these. It's okay to enjoy and leave content just at this place, especially for locals!

On this day, I casually stopped by "Todoro Sake Store Yakuin Stand".
◇Exterior and Interior
This standing bar is located near Yakuin Station in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, run by a sake store. While standing bar culture is often associated with Kitakyushu, I realized that I haven't had much experience with standing bars in Fukuoka, the neighboring city in the same prefecture. The store originally was located elsewhere and recently moved here. It seems to have been a well-known sake store in Fukuoka, as there were many customers. The interior of the store is stylish, clean, and quite different from the traditional old-fashioned standing bars.
◇Seating
There was a counter in a "コ" shape and small tables.
◇Menu
Both food and alcohol are reasonably priced, typical of a standing bar. Please refer to the photos for details. Unfortunately, I was unable to taste the food as I was called to leave after ordering sake. It was a bit disappointing...
◆Strong Points
Stylish standing bar style
Reasonably priced food and alcohol
Non-alcoholic options are available, and they also have a good selection of wines.

◆Summary
After enjoying some soba on this day, I stopped by here with a little time left. However, I was unable to fully enjoy the experience, so I will keep the rating as it is. The "Imo" sake I had at the end was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I heard a rumor that "Todoroki Saketen" has moved to Shirogane while wandering between Yamagata and Fukuoka bars. So, after work, I headed to Shirogane from Yakuin. The previous shop had a counter in the front, but this time there is a counter in the back, in the shape of a "C" or rather an "L". I leisurely looked at the menu and found "Bakuren" from Yamagata. It was 350 yen for a shot. Looks like it's a Yamagata match this time... I wonder if Yamagishi will play... while munching on Spicy Nuts (400 yen). Oh, by the way, it's cash only. I added 50 yen to the coin slot and ended with Fukuoka's beauty, which was 300 yen. It's delicious. It's a draw in the battle of alcohol. But in soccer, we lose. ● Shop Information Todoroki Saketen 092-753-8311 1-16-4 Shirogane, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City
