When you think of Hozoji in Osaka Minami, you think of Mizukake Fudo Son. I have visited this area many times and I love it. It has a nostalgic atmosphere, like being on a little Kyoto trip. In this area, there is a long-established kushikatsu restaurant called "Kushi no Bo." The entrance exudes a nostalgic atmosphere. Once you pass through the curtain, the head waiter will guide you to your seat. The counter is socially distanced, almost like a semi-private room. The kitchen is surrounded by the counter. The interior is calm with retro lighting. First, let's have a drink. They offer a variety of drinks such as draft beer, bottled beer, shochu highball, whiskey highball, soft drinks, plum wine, sake, shochu, and wine. The prices vary. However, the bottled beer was not cold at all, which was quite disappointing. Now, onto the food. The kushikatsu keeps coming until you say stop. They serve stick vegetables as a starter. Various kushikatsu items are served, including beef fillet, shrimp, abalone, shiitake mushrooms, chestnut-wrapped in yuba, matsutake mushrooms, kelp with eggs, lotus root, and sweet sea bream, among others. You don't need to order, making it easy and enjoyable. The kushikatsu is not crispy but moist, cooked in an old-fashioned style. The sauce is delicious, and this place would be preferred by older people. It's not the trendy kushikatsu with various twists, but the classic kushikatsu. The chef is dedicated to his craft. If they were a bit more friendly, it would be even more delightful. Thank you for the meal.
