I had lunch at Mutsuya and then visited Oigashi Otokoya to buy "mitarashi dango". When I tried to enter the shop, there was a sold out sign... But since it had been a while, I decided to buy other sweets instead. I bought: Oitoku strawberry, Chachamochi, fresh chocolate, black rice ohagi, and ohagi. I tried the black rice ohagi, and it had an elegant taste and was delicious! Looking at the display, I saw red rice (5 cups) for 1,650 yen! This seems like a really good deal, right!? Next time, I want to make a reservation and buy the red rice as well! Thank you for the meal!

On this day, I went out on my bike towards the southern part of Izumisano City in search of something sweet. After buying various things, I came across this shop and decided to stop by. I was planning to buy some sweet treats for tea time, and I quickly realized that this shop was famous for its mitarashi dango. I decided to have the mitarashi dango freshly grilled on the spot. Although my hometown is famous for mitarashi dango and goheimochi, the mitarashi dango here was delicious enough to rival that famous shop in Juso.

I have visited Daitokuya many times. This time, my husband and I went to buy mitarashi dango. We also decided to get strawberry daifuku this time. The strawberry daifuku has not only red bean paste but also cream inside, which I really like. Make sure to eat the mitarashi dango freshly made, as that's when it's the most delicious! We couldn't finish everything this time, so we had the leftovers when we got home, but microwaving it didn't bring back the fluffy texture... It's best when freshly made. My husband once again praised, "The mitarashi dango here is the best in Japan!" We will definitely visit again!

There is a Japanese confectionery shop in Ibaraki. Their strawberry daifuku is exquisite. The mitarashi is also recommended. Of course, the three-color dango, chestnut daifuku, and other Japanese sweets are delicious as well. I highly recommend trying their strawberry daifuku at least once.

Located in front of Ibuki Driving School, right next to Panmarche Mugi. I bought "Daitoku Ichigo" as a souvenir. It's a strawberry daifuku, with a soft mochi wrapped around strawberry, sweet red bean paste, and whipped cream. It's different from a regular strawberry daifuku, as it melts in your mouth. Handle it carefully as it's fluffy and can easily get squished. This shop also offers delicious mitarashi dango, which is very popular and was sold out when I visited. There is another store in the city, but both are far from the station and do not have parking, so please be aware.

I received strawberry daifuku from a friend before and mistakenly thought it was from this shop, so I called and went there, but the shop was already closed. I was surprised! I came all the way from far away and called ahead, but the shop was closed... I panicked. I pressed the intercom at the back door and called the shop, but they said they had already sold out and closed. However, since I had come from far away, they offered to give me a box of a different customer's order. I found out later that the strawberry daifuku I had received before was actually from another shop. The daifuku at this shop was delicious, with a melting texture, white bean paste, fresh cream, and the sweetness of strawberries. I bought various other sweets as souvenirs for my friends, although the Mitarashi dango was sold out, so I couldn't try it. I hope to try more next time. The strawberry daifuku is only available for a limited time, so maybe next year? I hope this review is helpful for everyone.

Daitokuya, a confectionery shop, is located at 12-1 Odoshimachi, Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture. There are two stores in Ibaraki City, one in Kamihoseki and one in Odoshimachi. The Ibaraki City Kamihoseki store is run by the father. I purchased two items: 1. Chestnut mochi - a mochi with a whole chestnut inside, filled with grainy sweet bean paste, offering a luxurious taste of traditional Japanese sweets. 2. Fresh chocolate - melts in your mouth, with a delightful aroma spreading as it melts. They also have other delicious sweets like strawberry daifuku (Daitoku Ichigo) and mitarashi dango. For more information about Daitokuya, please visit their website.

The shop is similar to the father's shop, with soft and delicious dumplings, specializing in mitarashi dumplings. There was a nice lady who seemed to be the wife. I tried the "Ibaraki Doji" steamed bun for 189 yen and the "Daitoku Banana" banana wrapped in mochi for 220 yen. Both were elegant and delicious. The prices are a bit high. The mitarashi dumplings are the same as the main store, but more affordable here. This shop has been popular in the local area for 8 years. It's strange that there are no reviews on Tabelog. They also accept phone orders according to the time, and you can get freshly baked items.
- On 12/04/15, I always stop by this shop for mitarashi dumplings as a souvenir after lunch at my favorite sushi restaurant nearby. It's 570 yen for 6 pieces for two people. It's cheap and delicious. I enjoy it with coffee at home as a dessert after lunch. Every time I eat it, I feel happy thinking, "Ah, this taste." When you come to Ibaraki, please try it. You'll be surprised by the taste of this mitarashi.

I have received this many times as it is located about a 2-minute walk from my home. The most recommended item at this restaurant is the mitarashi dango! It costs 95 yen per piece, and they make it after you order, so there is a slight wait... but once you take a bite, it is fluffy and soft like cotton candy, with the sweet mitarashi sauce coating it perfectly. It's so delicious that you'll keep wanting more and more. When I had my friend who loves sweets try it, they praised it highly. I haven't been able to go back since the new year started, so I really want to go buy it again.
