I came here to get the olive oil that was featured in a certain recipe book. I bought Via Blanca extra virgin olive oil for around 1,100 yen. When I actually used it for stir-frying, it turned out light and not heavy, with a refreshing finish. It didn't make the dish greasy in a good way. Lately, due to various circumstances, I've been trying out things like this too (bitter smile).

This is a select shop located on the 2nd basement floor of Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, selling a variety of products from rice to retort food. I stopped by this shop while shopping for dinner ingredients at Fukuoka Mitsukoshi. There was a corner with various rice crackers lined up, so I stopped there and chose some products. I picked "Corn Rice Crackers" and "Edamame Rice Crackers," both made with 100% domestically grown rice. Both were perfect snacks to enjoy with beer.

Mitsukoshi's underground store 【Kitano Ace】 is a unique select shop with an enjoyable lineup. In one corner, I found Nara's specialty, persimmon leaf sushi. I was interested in trying it and finally bought one. Each piece was carefully wrapped, and when opened, a gentle persimmon leaf fragrance wafted out. Persimmon leaves contain a lot of tannins, providing antibacterial and antioxidant effects for longer shelf life. I purchased the mackerel flavor, but they also had options like sea bream and salmon. Kitano Ace offers a variety of sushi options that change daily.

After the renovation of Lassic Fukuoka, I had been staying away for a while because some items that I used to purchase were no longer available after North No Ace moved into the underground area. However, when I happened to stop by recently (although it has been quite a while), I found the rice cracker "Ginshari" that Matsuko-san had enjoyed on Out Deluxe the other day. I thought it was made in Saga by Kashima Seika, but it turned out to be from Kanto (ー_ー) It was priced at 452 yen. It was a voluminous rice cracker, just like Matsuko-san had eaten on TV. So, I decided to get it. The rice cracker section here is quite extensive. I wonder if rice crackers are trending now. When I opened the package at home, a fragrant and unmistakably delicious rice cracker scent greeted me. The rice crackers were large, almost the size of Mister Donut's Old Fashioned donuts. Each piece was very big. The taste was just as Matsuko-san had demonstrated on TV, finishing a whole bag. Hmm, I'm glad I tried it. Mitsukoshi has an impressive selection indeed.

This is a grocery store located on the basement second floor of Mitsukoshi department store in the bustling district of Tenjin in Fukuoka City. I purchased retort curry from Nagasaki Prefecture made with beef tail, as well as curry from Tokyo Imahan. The beef tail curry had a medium level of spiciness in the curry roux, and you can add the included spices to your liking. The beef tail itself was quite large and the meat was incredibly tender. The curry from Imahan had a good balance of spices and the richness of beef, with a hint of sweetness. It truly lives up to the reputation of this long-standing establishment.

On July 20, 2022, I stopped by the popular takeout spot "Kabata" to pick up some spicy mentaiko and other items. While I was there, I also bought some side dishes for home. I got the "Ginger Clam" dish from "Aji Sen" in Shodoshima Town. It was well-cooked and had a strong flavor with a hint of ginger, although the soy sauce flavor was a bit overpowering. I added some real Japanese pepper to enhance the taste. As for the miso soup with clams, do you eat the meat? I do, but my partner absolutely refuses to. Another dish we got was our household favorite, "Super Salty Spicy Takana" from "Asada" in Nagoya City. It was incredibly salty! Not extremely spicy, just very salty. So, I rinsed it with reduced water, dried it off, stir-fried it with salad oil, added a bag of "Chino Sha Dashi," a stick of super spicy chili from "Kawano" in Sanuki Udon, plenty of sesame seeds, stir-fried well, added sesame oil, and tasted it. Now it should be delicious to eat.

I stopped by after work because it was featured on TV. I purchased the Strawberry Milk base for 1200 yen. I brought it home and made it in a glass by mixing milk and the Strawberry Milk powder. After mixing well, I enjoyed it. It was delicious! It had a great flavor. It was a bit of a luxurious drink. You can make four servings with one bottle. Enjoy!
