My favorite restaurant at the kushikatsu place. The tipsy set is a good deal, and the Paloma sauce yakisoba is delicious. There are many types of sauces which is fun. I also like the potatoes. I'm happy that the opening hours have been extended. Last order at 11:30pm. Closing at midnight. If you stay until this time, you won't be able to leave lol. It's quite crowded during peak hours, so making a reservation is recommended. The kushikatsu is delicious and the staff, both the nice older sister and older brother, provide excellent service at this great restaurant.

Closed on Wednesdays and I haven't been here in a while, so I decided to pay a visit. The classic "senbero" (cheap drinks and snacks) set is still going strong. I got 3 skewers, a large beer, and 2 small plates. The shrimp skewers were delicious and fresh. I also added another beer and chose the sauce for the yakisoba. Finished off with the usual spicy fried potatoes, a salmon rice ball, and got pretty drunk.

Once again, I was invited to "Kushikatsu Yan!" near Nagahoribashi Station on the Osaka Metro. The organizer was able to negotiate a special course for 3,500 yen with all-you-can-drink, featuring Asahi's "Extra Cold" and Nikka's "Freezing Highball." Both are Sumitomo brands. We started with appetizers: chilled tofu, tomato kimchi, cucumber pickles with salted kelp. The classic fried chicken and potato fries were served, along with edamame. The small shrimp fry, which the organizer loves, was delicious. Then came the kushikatsu: beef, shrimp, lotus root, and Osaka's famous red pickled ginger. There was also cheese kushikatsu that melted in your mouth. We finished with thick yakisoba noodles. I was invited to "Kushikatsu Yan!" near Nagahoribashi Station on the Osaka Metro. We started with the great value "Tipsy Set", which includes a choice of draft beer or sour, 5 skewers of the day, and 2 side dishes for 980 yen. I chose chilled tofu and sliced sweet potato from the 8 available side dishes. The skewers were delicious, and the thick noodle yakisoba with a choice of about 12 sauces was amazing. The "Horumon Stir-fry" was made with beef intestines and had a sweet fat taste. The classic "Potato Fry" and "Funky Chicken" were also excellent. The highlight of the restaurant is the wide variety of sauces available. By the time we left, the restaurant was almost full. It's a popular spot.

I passed by this restaurant before and it was crowded with a lot of people, so I was curious about it. This time, there were fewer customers! I thought it was empty, but when I entered, all the tables were full of used dishes. It turns out they were almost fully booked, so I arrived just after they finished. The "choi-nomi" set was around 1050 yen including tax. You can choose two small dishes, five skewers, and cabbage with a draft beer. In terms of quality, it was decent for the price. It might be the place where the cabbage served was the hardest I've ever had, but the sauce was to my liking. The female staff members are friendly and will engage in conversation if you talk to them, especially when it's not busy. Overall, it's a restaurant more suited for groups.

There are not many restaurants open late around here, so this place is quite a rare find as it is always open. When I go in, I usually order a "Hoppy" drink. I'm not sure why, but I always end up ordering it when I'm at a place that serves "Hoppy." The unique cheap taste is appealing to me for some reason, it's a mystery. Anyway, I start off by ordering some cold tofu, but to my disappointment, they only have a quarter portion available. Quite disappointing for a cold tofu lover like me, it ranks as one of the worst cold tofus I've had in the past. Moving on to the skewers, they were all delicious as expected from a skewer place. Nothing extraordinary, but tasty. The restaurant is often filled with families, young parents bringing their kids along to enjoy some drinks. It's not common to find a place where you can drink with your kids. There is a live house in the basement of the restaurant, and you can hear the bass-heavy music playing. I used to listen to bass-heavy music like Napalm Death in the past. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I visited for the first time. I was surprised to see that about 70% of the customers were there on a Sunday night. I ordered about 10 different types of kushikatsu, yakisoba, and chuhai. First, they served cabbage as a starter. I wonder why kushikatsu sauce is so delicious. I couldn't stop eating the cabbage. I wondered if I could ask for more, but I held back. The kushikatsu arrived - I ordered some unusual ones like eggplant, and they were delicious. The yakisoba had over 10 different sauce options to choose from, which was a unique system. I went with the staff's recommendation. It was satisfying with a generous portion and good taste. The prices were reasonable, so I thought it was a good place to have a light meal and drinks before heading home. When I was leaving, I saw a taxi stopping in front of the restaurant, only to find out that they were actually customers going in. It made me realize that this place is quite popular. Thank you for the meal.

Title: A cheap izakaya in Minamisenba specializing in kushikatsu! It stays open until 3 am, which seems to be quite convenient for the salarymen in the area, as most restaurants are closed by midnight. I went there around 11 pm and there were quite a few salarymen inside. The place emptied out quickly around the last train, but the taste was decent, nothing special. It has a casual atmosphere and the prices are cheap. It's worth a visit at odd hours in Minamisenba!

The restaurant only has table seating, with 4-person and 8-person tables, so you may have to share a table if you're dining alone. There are many smoking salarymen. I arrived at 12:20 on a weekday and there were already over 10 customers, but I was seated right away. The lunch menu includes kushikatsu set meals, horumon (offal) set meals, and kushikatsu curry, each priced at 680 yen, with curry rice available for 500 yen and free extra large size. You can also add a drink for an additional 100 yen. I ordered the extra large kushikatsu curry. The kushikatsu included lotus root, eggplant, shrimp, sausage, and beef, with the curry rice topping costing 180 yen, which seemed reasonable considering the prices. The rice portion, even in the extra large size, was about 300g. The curry sauce was similar to a cheap supermarket retort curry, with a small portion, which was a bit disappointing. I thought the kushikatsu set meal might be a better option.

I'm at Nagahori Bridge, strolling around. While looking for a place to have lunch, I come across a sign that says "Today's special: Pork cutlet set meal for 500 yen". A pork cutlet set meal for just one coin sounds cheap, so I decide to enter "Kushikatsu Yan!" This restaurant just opened in September and only has table seating. Luckily, there is no need to share a table with anyone. It's currently 12:30 PM. I order the pork cutlet set meal, which includes pork cutlet, shredded cabbage, miso soup, pickles, and rice. The pork cutlet is thin, not thick. I personally like thin pork cutlets because you can really taste the crispy coating. It's delicious when eaten with sauce and rice. In between bites, I enjoy the pickles and miso soup as well. It's a great deal for 500 yen. The set meal is limited, so it may not always be available, but I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal. October 2015.

Today's lunch was at "Kushi Katsu Yan!" in Nagahoribashi, Osaka. This is a newly opened restaurant. I had the Kushi Katsu Curry Rice (800 yen). The lunch menu includes Kushi Katsu Curry Rice (800 yen), Kushi Katsu Restaurant's Curry Rice (600 yen), Kushi Katsu Set Meal (700 yen), and Hormone Set Meal (780 yen). Although it's a Kushi Katsu restaurant, the curry color is quite strong. The "Kushi Katsu Curry Rice" comes with 4 skewers, which are different each day. Today's skewers were beef, octopus, eggplant, and onion. I wish they had shrimp or ginkgo nuts. The skewers were nicely arranged. First, I tried the beef which was delicious, especially when dipped in the curry sauce. The eggplant was also good, but didn't change much with the curry. The octopus was very tasty on its own and surprisingly goes well with curry. Lastly, the onion was just average. The curry itself was quite ordinary, with a store-bought taste and lacking in spices and richness. The salad was just okay. Overall, the meal allows you to enjoy both Kushi Katsu and curry, but at 800 yen, it seems a bit pricey. The restaurant is located at 1-16-2 Minamisenba, Chuo-ku, Osaka, with contact number 06-6263-1433. They are open from 11:30-14:00 and 17:00-24:00 on weekdays, and 17:00-24:00 on weekends and holidays.
