Business hotel breakfast three days in a row. Departing from Haneda at 8:30 pm and arriving at Kitakyushu Airport at 10:05 pm. I don't remember what time I actually arrived at the airport, but I walked to the hotel. There was nothing around this hotel as I had expected, so I bought a sandwich and chu-hi from the Seven-Eleven at the airport. I had that for dinner and went to bed. In the morning, I greeted the day and took a picture from my room. The weather seemed to be good. I had breakfast on the first floor. I couldn't find a tray. There was a lunchbox-like pack, so I served myself in a buffet style. Some people use these lunchbox-like packs to take food with them. I wonder if they take it out and eat it for lunch. At first, I felt that the variety of dishes was a bit limited, but thinking about it, it's quite a service. Actually, there is also curry service until 9 pm. It's a complete service. Thank you for the meal. But in the end, I couldn't find a tray for eating in.

During this business trip, I stayed at a Toyoko Inn with excellent service. I was able to check in at 2:00 PM instead of the usual 4:00 PM, which was a huge help as I was suffering from shingles and in a lot of pain. Thanks to sleeping pills, I managed to get some rest that night. The hotel had changed to a bento box style for meals due to coronavirus precautions. The previous day, I stayed at a Toyoko Inn in Shizuoka and the bento was not great, but the one at this hotel included a pack bento, 3 side dishes, a vegetable salad, green tea, vegetable juice, coffee, and bread. They even provided curry for dinner as there were no nearby restaurants. Additionally, parking was free for 10 days. Toyoko Inn has some great features such as free Wi-Fi, cleanliness, various discounts, prices ranging from 4,000 to 8,000 yen, and free breakfast. However, there are areas for improvement such as the ability to reserve parking online, receiving notifications for forgotten items, and having meaningful feedback options on their online surveys. The prices listed are excluding tax.

In the past, Toyoko Inn's breakfast service only consisted of rice balls and miso soup, but recently, breakfast menus have become more varied nationwide, with service offerings varying by location. The rooms have a consistent atmosphere nationwide, with spacious and clean beds. The tables are also large, making it ideal for business purposes. Our hotel is located next to Kitakyushu Airport, and we offer early morning bread service and evening curry service for guests catching early flights or those looking for dining options in the area. The service hours are as follows: 4:30-7:00 Early morning bread service, 7:00-9:30 Breakfast service, 19:00-21:00 Curry service. If you check in early in the evening, you might see the older ladies chopping vegetables in the kitchen – it's all handmade! The curry service offers self-service curry with unlimited servings, which is a great option for those with big appetites. You can scoop rice onto your plate, pour curry on top, and add some fukujinzuke for a satisfying meal. The curry is mild but filling. The breakfast service is also self-service, with a menu that includes five types of rice balls, simmered daikon and konjac, omelets, meatballs, shredded cabbage salad, macaroni salad, takana, pickled shiba, and fukujinzuke, along with curry and white rice. The rice is shiny and delicious, and the miso soup is simple yet tasty with tofu, wakame, and thin fried tofu. There is also salad for a vitamin boost. Only hot coffee was available for drinks. The restaurant can get crowded around 7 am, so it might be better to come a bit later. With a room rate of 4,100 yen including meals, it's a great deal for accommodation.

Free breakfast (included in the accommodation fee) consists of onigiri, with white rice onigiri topped with a sprinkling of furikake. When encountering this kind of cooking, I always want to ask the person who created the recipe, "How do you eat this?" There are two types of furikake. One is the classic "yukari," and the other is something else. Furikake can be tricky. Probably one solution is to make white rice onigiri and sprinkle the furikake all over (probably). Most of the Toyoko Inn hotels handle it this way (probably). Alternatively, they may suggest giving up on the onigiri and serving the rice in a bowl with furikake on top. This is rare but occasionally seen. The approach at this hotel is neither of these, which is unusual. The miso soup is made with white miso. The pickles are fresh and good. The meatballs are pre-made meatballs with demi-glace sauce. The stir-fried vegetables consist mainly of light stir-fried cabbage and bean sprouts. I thought there was no meat, but as I ate, I found bits of minced meat here and there (sweat). The side dishes include chikuwa, bamboo shoots, and the aforementioned meatballs (lol). The scrambled eggs are just scrambled eggs. These were the items I had. There was also a salad with fresh vegetables. Having a variety of side dishes is something to consider. While it increases the satisfaction of the meal, it also increases the work for the guests, which may slow down the turnover. The bread was almost gone when I arrived around 7:30, so it seems like something to have earlier in the morning (the hotel also seems to suggest this). [Operation, etc.] The morning after staying at a hotel in Kitakyushu, which was almost fully booked due to a marathon, I managed to get a room at a reasonable price. The hotel had a decent number of guests, but there was no trouble finding a seat. Free hotel breakfast can be tricky. If the menu is extensive, the satisfaction with the food increases, but it gets crowded. On the other hand, if it's simple, the satisfaction with the food may decrease, but the crowd might decrease. In this era of social media, the influence of such evaluations seems to be significant. It feels like Toyoko Inn in major cities like Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka are conscious of this. It's just a feeling♪

The next morning, I had to leave relatively early for work, but this hotel is close to the airport so they serve breakfast starting from 4:30. It seems like they offer breakfast early to accommodate early morning flights. When I arrived at the breakfast area around 6:20, there were no other guests. Until 7:00, they only offer bread, soup, and coffee. Onigiri was available but only after 7:00. After 7:00, you can choose onigiri, miso soup, side dishes, and salad. I chose three types of bread and hot coffee. The bread had a hint of orange flavor and one small bread was sweet, but I couldn't figure out what it was. The hot coffee was average. I didn't try the soup because I had already had coffee and didn't want to use the restroom. I checked out around 7:00 and the breakfast area was crowded. It seems like most people prefer to have breakfast after 7:00 for more options. There are no restaurants near the hotel, but there is a small Seven Eleven at the airport with limited options. There are restaurants about a 10-minute drive away. I might stay here again in the future and try the breakfast and dinner.

I had to stay overnight due to work reasons. This business hotel offers free breakfast and dinner. The room rates are cheaper when booked through the Toyoko Inn website. By getting the Toyoko Inn Club Card, you can stay even more affordably. It is recommended to get the card so you can earn points for free stays. Some famous reviewers from Tabelog have also stayed at this hotel. After checking in and dropping off my luggage in the room, I headed straight to dinner. The room was relatively clean and spacious. The dinner venue was on the first floor. I arrived at the dinner venue around 7:20 PM. There were about 10 guests at the table and counter seats. Dinner consisted of homemade curry only, with free refills. I intended to eat a lot, but the rice was running low. I decided to take a smaller portion to avoid inconveniencing others in line. I sat at an empty counter seat, got some water, and tried the homemade curry. It was quite delicious, a thick and rich European-style curry that seemed to appeal to most people. It contained potatoes, carrots, but no meat. Well, it's free curry after all. I wanted to have another serving, but I had work to do in my room, so I had to skip it. There was complimentary hot coffee, but I had to rush, so I passed on it. After finishing my meal, I quickly headed back to my room.

Toyoko Inn Kitakyushu Airport (2-4 Kuko Kitamachi, Kokuraminami-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture) offers free curry for breakfast and dinner for guests only. As a wandering traveler known as the "Toyoko Crossing Bird," I have been using Toyoko Inn as my regular accommodation since my days of traveling by public transportation like the Shinkansen. The reasons I choose Toyoko Inn are the affordable prices, cheap parking fees (some locations offer free parking), convenient locations, spacious beds, in-room refrigerators with cooling functions, free mineral water, free ice, and the young female staff at the front desk. Additionally, the breakfast varies by location and often includes local specialties to provide a unique experience. The breakfast menu at Toyoko Inn Kitakyushu Airport includes onigiri, various pickles, miso soup, mini hamburgers, chicken and vegetable stew, minced meat and vegetable stir-fry, vinegar-marinated glass noodles, mini bread, various consommé soups, and coffee. Sometimes, they also offer the local B-class gourmet dish "Kokura-style Udon." Breakfast is served from 7 am, but for early morning flight passengers, mini bread, consommé soup, and coffee are available from 4:30 am. The dinner curry is a self-serve buffet style, allowing guests to enjoy as much as they like, including the option for extra-large servings. The rating for the Toyoko Inn breakfast and dinner curry free service is based on the cost-performance ratio, with a scale of 3.0 for average, 3.1 for good, and 3.2 for very good. Thank you for the meal!
