This is a dim sum tea room located next to the central escalator on the top floor of Kyoto Isetan. I visit here about 2-3 times a month, so I have been here about 30 times a year for 10 years. Therefore, I feel like I've tried almost all the dishes. Today, my daughter and I had a salad with Jinhua ham for 1000 yen, five-ingredient fried rice for 1200 yen, century egg for 800 yen, and five-ingredient noodle soup for 1300 yen. Prices are excluding tax. The restaurant has 2-seater table seats, 4-seater round tables, semi-private rooms, and private rooms for various occasions. Of course, they warmly welcome solo diners as well. The staff are very kind and it feels good to be here. The charm of this restaurant is the generous portion size and the delicious taste. The century egg we had today is so rich that it's quite difficult to finish alone. It's recommended to share it with 2-3 people. As mentioned in other reviews, dishes like fried rice and soba are all delicious and come in larger portions, about 1.2-1.3 times more than standard restaurants, so it's like a large serving. My favorite dish is the appetizer "Jinhua ham salad." It's full of jellyfish, so it's more like a jellyfish salad. There's not much Jinhua ham in it, but the dressing is delicious. There's also a "Jellyfish Cold Dish" for 1500 yen on the appetizer menu, but the Jinhua ham salad is a much better deal (because the amount of jellyfish is similar but the salad is cheaper). Eating this alone will make you super full. It's great. Thank you for the meal as always. Although I didn't have it today, personally, I highly recommend the fried chicken here for 1400 yen.

Dim sum set for 2,200 yen including tax, sweet and sour pork set for 1,980 yen including tax, mixed fried rice, half size tapioca milk, mango pudding, sesame dumplings, apple juice. The dim sum set is a great deal as you get to try a variety of dishes. The tapioca milk is too delicious! My child refuses to drink tapioca milk from anywhere else now.

The sweet and sour pork with pork belly was delicious. The sweetness of the fatty pork belly was really nice! The restaurant was clean and not too crowded, making it a comfortable place to dine. It's great that you can change the rice to congee! Congee is so delicious that I always end up ordering it. I would like to visit again if I feel like having Chinese food at Kyoto Station.

A colleague visiting from overseas was returning temporarily, so I made a reservation at a restaurant that caught our interest. It seemed that we needed to order a course menu that costs over 3,300 yen. I was a bit disappointed as I was interested in a course menu that was less than 3,300 yen. Nonetheless, we decided to order a quarter of Peking duck to share. The course dishes were average, but the Peking duck was very delicious.

I chose the xiaolongbao set meal with tantanmen, ordered 4 pieces of gyoza per serving, and also ordered century egg as a side dish. I thought I had room in my stomach, so I also had some rice, which turned out to be quite filling until dinner. I wonder if the xiaolongbao is frozen? The skin had cuts in it, and unfortunately, the juice escaped, but it was delicious.

After enjoying cherry blossom viewing in April with friends, we decided to have dinner at Isetan. Despite the large crowd, we were able to be seated after a short wait. The restaurant had a calm atmosphere where we could enjoy a leisurely meal. The assorted xiaolongbao allowed us to savor various flavors. On the chilly day, the warm vegetable soup and tofu and vegetable stew warmed our stomachs. Being able to enjoy both large plate dishes and dim sum, I would like to visit with a group next time. The staff's service was also polite and attentive.

🌟Connected to Kyoto Station, I visited I-Shingou for Chinese cuisine. Located on the 11th floor of Isetan Eat Paradise, it's a casual branch of the established I-Shingou since 32. The ambiance is relaxing and spacious. This time, I ordered a la carte. The "Shrimp Chili" was a perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness with plump shrimp. The slightly spicy chili sauce was my favorite touch. For dessert, I initially ordered "Almond Tofu" but couldn't resist adding "Mango Pudding." Why is almond tofu so delicious? The mango pudding had a rich sauce and was a perfect cold dessert. The service was excellent, and being directly connected to the station made it a pleasant dining experience even in the rain. 🍤🍮🌧️
Restaurant Name: I-Shingou
Reservation: Available
Access: Directly connected to JR Kyoto Station

Sweet and sour pork set for 1,980 yen including tax. The sweet and sour pork here is the most delicious ♬ The black vinegar flavor is quite prominent. It gets crowded during lunchtime but the turnover rate is good, so you won't have to wait long. You can take your turn using a tablet, so even if you wander around Isetan, you can check your turn from your smartphone and go to a different floor during the waiting time with peace of mind ♬

Having lunch at Daimaru Isetan Eat Paradise 11th floor. There were various restaurants to choose from, but I decided on Chinese cuisine. "Tenshin Tea Room" is a casual restaurant established in 1949 with a spacious and relaxing interior. The Tenshin Tea Room Set (¥2,200) includes a variety of dishes such as three kinds of appetizers, egg soup, spring rolls, prawns with mustard sauce, white fish with yuzu oil, choice of rice or porridge, soba noodles or beef yakisoba, and dessert. The Kyoto pork sweet and sour pork set (¥1,980) includes salad, soup, pickled vegetables, shumai, sweet and sour pork with black vinegar, choice of rice or porridge (free refills), and dessert. The Tenshin Tea Room Set looked beautiful and had a good variety of dishes. The seasoning was light and suited my taste, allowing the deliciousness of the ingredients to shine through. The vegetable-packed beef yakisoba was great. The sweet and sour pork in the Kyoto pork set was outstanding - hot, tender, and perfectly balanced in vinegar flavor. The porridge had a gentle flavor and was so delicious that I ended up getting a refill. It was a nice touch to have hot Chinese tea served in a pot. The cost performance was good, and I had a great time.

Located on the 11th floor of JR Kyoto Isetan adjacent to JR Kyoto Station. Parking available. A popular restaurant with a wait of 4 groups even when avoiding lunchtime. Waited for about 30 minutes and entered the restaurant. The exterior feels small as it is inside a department store, but the interior creates a sense of luxury despite the narrow space. As I was alone, I was seated at a small table for two in the corner. First, they served jasmine tea, which was delicious. I traveled to China about 30 years ago and always thought the tea served was oolong tea, but now I remember it was jasmine tea in every place I visited. It was nice to have a pot of tea on the table. I ordered the mapo tofu set for 1,650 yen including tax. First, they served salad, zasai (pickled vegetables), and egg soup, which were okay. The shrimp shumai served next was juicy and delicious! It was a bit lonely to have just one piece. Then, the main dish of mapo tofu and rice porridge arrived. The mapo tofu had a modest amount of minced meat but was well presented and had a luxurious feel. The rice porridge had a rich flavor and was exquisite! I was expecting almond jelly for dessert, but it was coconut milk tapioca. It was a pleasant surprise and quite tasty. The service was as polite as in a hotel. The slightly noisy atmosphere was a bit distracting, but overall, it was good.

(Visit on 2022/10/08) Located on the 11th floor of JR Kyoto Isetan, this restaurant is known for its Shanghai cuisine and Cantonese dim sum. It is a long-established store that has been in business for over 100 years, popular for maintaining traditional flavors with a motto of handmade dishes. The elegant interior exudes a sense of luxury, with features such as the classic round tables and spacious table seats, suitable for various occasions. We were guided to a semi-private room with a cozy atmosphere. We made a reservation online and requested the "Chef's Recommended Course" in advance. The evening's menu included: - Assorted four kinds of appetizers - Two types of xiaolongbao - Stir-fried prawns with XO sauce - Fucangyu with Kyoto yuba in shark fin sauce - Sweet and sour pork with Kyoto pork - Steamed white fish with ginger and spring onion - Duck breast and Kujo negi dipping soba - Dessert (almond tofu) The course featured colorful dishes made with seasonal and local Kyoto ingredients.

The restaurant has a spacious and calm atmosphere, and the staff were attentive, allowing us to enjoy our meal leisurely. I ordered the Xiao Long Bao set as I was craving for it. The set included salad, Xiao Long Bao, shrimp yakisoba, and almond tofu. They also served jasmine tea in a teapot at the beginning.
