I saw a TV show featuring soba noodles, so I decided to go to Yukiya today. Even though I intended to try my friend's recommended tempura soba, I accidentally ordered chicken soba. However, it turned out to be delicious with tender chicken and tasty broth. I even finished the soba broth. I usually don't like big green onions, but the ones on top of the chicken didn't have that strong onion flavor, so I ate them all for the first time in my life. I'm not a fan of pre-cut green onions in noodle shops because of the strong smell, but I think they probably don't pre-cut them here. Next time, I'll definitely try the tempura soba!

I visited during my lunch break. They offer free extra large portions for lunch. I couldn't resist and ordered it, wondering if I could finish it. But it was so delicious that I finished it all in no time. I also love the relaxing atmosphere, so I want to try their other soba dishes as well. ✨

The shop is bright and clean, with thorough cleaning. The owner and staff are friendly and welcoming. It's great that there is a counter for solo diners. The tamagoyaki and tempura served at the soba shop are delicious. The three-masu-zuke on cold tofu gives a taste of Hokkaido. If they increase the variety of sake, I would end up staying longer. I will definitely visit again.

I ended up having a late dinner, so I decided to visit a soba restaurant that was open late at night. They also served alcohol and it was bustling with customers. This time, I ordered the Tempura Soba. The tempura was crispy and the soba was delicious!

I had the "Seasonal Three Variety Platter", "Seasonal Sashimi Four Point Platter", "Chicken Pine Mushroom Grilled Dish", "Individual Pot Hokkaido Beef Sukiyaki Snow House Style", "Kumamoto Young Bamboo Shoot Stew", "New Onion and Cherry Shrimp Tempura", "Seasonal Nigiri Sushi and Miso Soup", and "Homemade Warabi Mochi and Marquis Potato Pudding". This time, I chose the Snow House course due to various circumstances, even though the recommended dish at Snow House establishments is usually soba noodles. The restaurant is small but has a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The 8-course meal plan consisted of individual servings for each dish, making it easy to enjoy without the hassle of sharing. The Hokkaido Beef Sukiyaki Snow House Style is so delicious that you can have as many bowls of rice as you want. I will definitely come back next time to enjoy the soba noodles!

On the second night of my trip to Asahikawa in early autumn 2022, I ended up at Tanukimura on Suzuran Koji Lane for some drinks. Normally, after drinking, I would go for ramen as my final meal. However, while wandering around, I noticed a soba restaurant that caught my attention, so I decided to have soba for dinner tonight. The restaurant is called Soba Yukiya, where you can enjoy 100% soba noodles. It is located near the intersection of Showa Street and 3rd Street in Sanroku Street. The exterior is covered in white tiles with a unique signboard. There are 6 counter seats and 3 table seats in the compact interior. The place is run by a couple. The interior has a chic cafe-like atmosphere, with spinning tops displayed on the decorative shelves between the counter seats. I ordered the large portion of Mori Soba for 950 yen, with an additional 200 yen for the large size. The soba noodles are made from Kitawase variety soba from Kamikawa-cho, Hokkaido. It arrived in about 10 minutes, and it was a super-sized portion, about 1.5 times the normal size. Soba broth was also served along with toppings like green onions, wasabi, and chopped seaweed. Despite being 100% soba noodles, it was not dry and had a good texture. The color was not dark, similar to a 80/20 soba blend. It was slightly watery, but had a good chewiness. The portion size was impressive, especially for the price. The lady at the restaurant asked if I enjoyed the meal. I honestly told her that it's hard to find such a large portion of 100% soba noodles for less than 1000 yen. The restaurant has been in business for about 6 years. I hope Soba Yukiya continues to thrive in Asahikawa, offering not just ramen but also delicious soba noodles. Thank you for the meal.

I have been going out for dinner with colleagues in Asahikawa for several days in a row and my stomach is starting to feel tired. After that, we went to "Soba Yukiya" where I ordered the "Grated Ginger Soba" (warm) for 880 yen, which was recommended as a good way to finish the meal. The restaurant was mostly filled with people who seemed to have been drinking, including myself. The cold soba tea was delicious. The Grated Ginger Soba arrived after a short wait and it had a flavor that I could anticipate, but it was incredibly delicious. The broth, daikon radish, ginger - the balance of these flavors was just right. The broth was to my liking, with a nice balance of sweetness from the daikon radish and the spiciness of the ginger. This restaurant has a variety of other menu items, so I would like to try more in the future.

I ordered the menu item "Hokkaido-made 100% buckwheat soba, using Kitawase variety ☆ Mori soba (cold) for 750 yen (tax included)". This restaurant is open until 2 AM, and even when I went around 1 AM, it was full. Thank you for the delicious meal, Soba Yukigoya!

A few years ago, I have a memory of eating at this place as a way to finish off a night of drinking. I wanted to confirm my memory, so I visited the restaurant. It has an elegant atmosphere with a counter seating on both sides and four tables in the back. I found the menu and decided to order the herring soba for 980 yen. The lunch came with a large serving, but I opted for a regular size. The soba noodles were thin and had a good texture with a fragrant scent. Instead of green onions, seaweed was added which was interesting. The broth had a refined and gentle flavor that became more delicious as I drank it. The herring was lightly seasoned and incredibly tender, the softest I've ever had. The bones were not bothersome at all, showing the attention to detail in their preparation. The slightly sweet senbei rice crackers served at the beginning were a nice touch for dessert. I look forward to trying their tempura dishes next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

On 21/12/18, I had the "Matsutake Tempura Soba for 1000 yen" for lunch at my favorite restaurant. This place is always my go-to spot for ending a night out. However, since July, I haven't been able to go out at all (tears). Today marks my first time back in 5 months and my first time having lunch here. I wonder if the kind manager is doing well. Even during lunchtime, the atmosphere here is just as calm and welcoming. Unfortunately, the manager was not there today. Oh well, moving on, I ordered the Matsutake Tempura Soba. By the way, I'm also looking forward to having Toshikoshi Soba for New Year's Eve. That's my goal for today. The soba here is really delicious. The unique chewy texture of the 100% buckwheat soba is still there even in the warm version. The dashi broth with bonito is incredibly tasty. And of course, the crispy Matsutake tempura complements the soft noodles perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors after such a long time. Oh, and during lunchtime, they offer a free upgrade to a large portion. Of course, I took advantage of that. The regular price for a large portion is 200 yen, which I consider offsetting the parking fee (laughs). Feeling satisfied, I left the restaurant. I'm looking forward to having Toshikoshi Soba on New Year's Eve. But the real charm of this place is still during the evening. Manager, please take care and see you next time I visit!

This is a soba izakaya located in the city center of Asahikawa. The menu is extensive, allowing you to enjoy just the soba, or pair it with sake and side dishes. The recommended dish here is the Jyuwari soba sashimi. It's a unique dish where flat Jyuwari soba is served as sashimi with wasabi soy sauce, offering a delicious and interesting taste and texture. There is also a wide variety of sake and shochu to enjoy. The prices are reasonable, and you can leave feeling satisfied after enjoying good food and drinks. It's a great place for delicious sake, side dishes, and soba.

Next week, there is a strong feeling of snow. I saw the first snow insect of the season (it hit me). The store I was aiming for was closed, so I went to a place called "Yukiya" on the way. The exterior of the store, which is full of cleanliness and values white as the name "Yukiya" suggests, was something I had been curious about for a while. I visited just before 12 o'clock, with one other customer. I ordered the recommended Maiko Tempura Soba (cold) that was displayed outside. The large size was free, but I chose the regular size. First, I was served soba tea and two pieces of senbei (rice crackers). I could feel a simple sweetness and the flavor of the soba. Soon after, the soba arrived. The soba was cold and firm, with a good texture, and the broth had a good balance of sweetness and spiciness, which was to my liking. The tempura was cut into easy-to-eat pieces, with Maiko tempura and green chili tempura that was not too spicy. The tempura batter was also well-balanced, and I enjoyed it with salt. It was the kind of soba I wanted to eat. After returning home, I confirmed from reviews and the store's website that it was made with "Kitawase Jyuwari Soba" from Kamikawa Town. It seems that my taste agrees with it. ==== Additional note: Upon checking the website again, I couldn't confirm if the Jyuwari soba was used for lunch, but there is no doubt that it was delicious soba. However, there seems to be a slight doubt... because there was nothing written on the blackboard.

After having dinner and finishing with ramen, I returned to the hotel, took a bath, and everyone in my family went to sleep. I tried to sleep too but couldn't fall asleep, so I went out for a walk and found this restaurant. I remembered that soba is also famous in Hokkaido, so even though I was full, I decided to go in. I had beer and mushroom with grated radish, which had a refreshing taste that went well with the beer. For the finale, I had sake and duck soup soba. The richness of the duck soup and the soba mixed perfectly, making it delicious. The sake also paired well with the soba, and I enjoyed the final soba dish.

Soba for the finish! Recommended for when you feel like having soba after a tiring day. I was feeling tired during the day, so I was in the mood for some light soba. I ordered tempura soba and duck soy sauce simmered soba. The duck was so delicious! It might be the best duck I've ever had! The soba was also tasty! I feel like my standards for soba have gotten higher, but the aroma was good and delicious! I thought this place would be perfect for a late-night meal as the quality of soba was top-notch!

I visited this restaurant in late July! Every time I come to Asahikawa, I always make sure to visit this place! It's located a bit away from the station, but it's on a street with many bars. It's open late even on weekdays, which is very convenient. The prices are great because everything from drinks to food is well taken care of. To experience Hokkaido, I recommend starting with a Sapporo Classic beer. Then, I enjoy the unique soba shochu that they offer, mixed with soba soup. I'm not usually a fan of shochu, but the soba shochu is smooth and easy to drink. It pairs perfectly with the soba soup. On chilly days, it becomes addictive! This time, I will continue to drink soba soup shochu. For food, I ordered a variety of dishes, from snacks to hearty meals. I was particularly impressed by the "soba sashi," which was incredibly delicious. Dip it in soy sauce and the perfect sweetness of the soba sashi balances well with the salty soy sauce, making the drinks go down smoothly. I also ordered tempura and other fried foods that day and indulged in them. They were so delicious. For the finish, I had duck soba. Since it's a soba restaurant, the soba here is truly delicious! I recommend warm soba even in the summer. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy, so I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the wonderful meal.

It has been 3 weeks since I arrived in Hokkaido, and my work has been quite busy, often resulting in having Seicomart's fried chicken for lunch. Today, I had lunch in Asahikawa after a long time. I was planning to visit Tenkin-san, but due to a holiday, the regular holiday had changed and the shop was closed. I found a soba restaurant on the way and decided to try it out. I ordered tempura soba. As mentioned in other reviews, the noodles were indeed a bit weak in texture, but they were smooth and had a good mouthfeel, and I enjoyed them. I prefer 80% buckwheat noodles, but these were not gritty, and I wondered if they adjusted the texture intentionally. The tempura batter was slightly thick, crispy, and had a great texture, which I liked as I'm not a fan of it becoming slimy when dipped in the broth. There was a good variety of tempura, and I felt satisfied beyond the price. The soba tea and soba senbei they served were also delicious. However, they brought the soba broth at the same time as the soba, so it had cooled down by the time I drank it. Also, during lunchtime, a few suppliers were coming in and out with ingredients, and I was a bit surprised to see a box labeled "grated daikon" being delivered (when I worked part-time at a chain izakaya during my student days, we used to grate the daikon ourselves at first, but later it started being delivered frozen, which was surprising). I wonder if it's common now to order grated daikon. Thank you for the meal.

【February 25, 2021 revisit】After having a light drink at Kushitori Asahikawa Main Store, I decided to revisit "Soba Yukiya" where I had been before. I ordered High Sake Brewery's Junmai Ginjo "Ezo no Kuma", homemade miso-marinated cold tofu, and homemade hoya salt koji salted fish guts, and enjoyed some appetizers before the soba noodles arrived. I timed it right and ordered a large serving of hand-cut Ni-Hachi 80% buckwheat noodles to compare. Surprisingly, the right side, which looked whitish, was the 100% buckwheat noodles, while the grayish side was the Ni-Hachi noodles. The dipping sauce was on the sweeter side, with a mild flavor, and despite being quite salty, a significant amount of sauce was poured into the soba dipping cup from the start. When I tried diluting it with soba water, it was still a bit too salty, so I ended up transferring about half to an empty tea cup, drinking all the warm tea, adding more soba water, and finally achieving the perfect balance of flavors. This time, the rating is a bit lower. Soba Yukigoya in Asahikawa is a great place to end your night of drinking. They serve delicious soba noodles with toppings like mushrooms and grated radish, along with a variety of drinks including bottled beer. The soba noodles are authentic and have a nice chewy texture. The mushrooms are fresh and tasty, not like the ones you find in supermarkets. They also offer a three-liter jar of pickles, making it a great place to keep drinking. I might have to come back for a third round next time. Thank you for the meal!

28/12/20 Early New Year's Eve soba tasting solo. The goal tonight is to greet familiar shops. It's a much earlier visit than usual. "Good evening, is the manager here?" "Today, he's at a different branch, so he won't be back until close to closing time." Oh well. Please pass on my regards. Ordered the usual Junmai Kamikawa & Mori Soba. The Junmai Kamikawa is the limited edition "First Pressed Fresh" at this time of year. The slightly carbonated taste on the tongue is irresistibly good. The 100% soba from Kamikawa town is consistently delicious. The finale at Sanroku is definitely here. My favorite soba izakaya. Looking forward to more delicious soba next year!

[First Visit on December 22, 2020] After enjoying yakiniku at "Yakiniku Horumon Asahikawa Nikusakaba Juuhachi-ban," I visited a soba restaurant called "Soba Yukiya" that I initially planned to visit as the second stop after a bar for drinks. It was just a minute's walk from Juuhachi-ban. When I entered both Juuhachi-ban and here, I was the only customer, but more customers arrived while I was eating and drinking. I started with a glass of Otoko-yama special junmai sake "Kita no Inaho," homemade squid salted innards, and Itawasa before the soba. For the finale, I ordered a large serving of Horonobe duck soba (cold). In the Sapporo area, many soba restaurants use ducks from Takikawa, but in the Kamikawa area, is Horonobe duck the mainstream? The soba flour used is locally produced Kitawase from Kamikawa-cho. The soba had a mild flavor, perhaps due to the gentle water draining. The dipping sauce made with Horonobe duck meat had a rustic taste, but I thought it would be better with a spicier broth due to the weak water draining of the soba. Also, perhaps due to the location, all dishes and drinks were priced on the higher side. While there is a wide variety of soba dishes, if you want to enjoy them leisurely, it can end up being quite expensive. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, the service is good, and the food is delicious overall, so it might be a stylish way to enjoy it casually as a quick stop for a pre-drink or a closing drink.
