This is a small izakaya located in the middle of the Tenroku Nakazakicho Oideyasu Shotengai. It is situated near the Kurosaki Machi Police Box and Kurosaki Park. The interior of the restaurant has a counter with chairs and two tables for standing. When I visited with a regular customer, the place started to fill up quickly, mostly with regulars. I ordered a sashimi platter and shishamo with roe. The sashimi platter was priced at 780 yen, and while it wasn't outstanding, it was decently tasty. They offer a variety of Japanese sake, with many regulars opting for bottle keeps of one-sho bottles. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a slight smoking presence due to the lack of young customers. I plan to visit again soon. Thank you for the meal. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ ******************************** Solo Female-Friendly: ❤️❤️♡♡♡ Likelihood to Revisit: ★★★★☆ ********************************

Today I visited Hanamon in Kurosaki-cho shopping street in Kita-ku, Osaka. I didn't have a plan, just wandered around. Hanamon was open, but I had been there two days ago so I decided to skip it. I walked around a bit more, but most of the other shops were still closed. I decided to go back to Hanamon and ordered a plain chu-hi and Kirin Ichiban Shibori Kuro Nama beer. I couldn't resist ordering the firefly squid, which was deliciously chewy. The spicy miso was rich and flavorful, and the asparagus with bacon butter was also very tasty. Finally, I enjoyed some hot sake from Nishinomiya. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Overall, a satisfying meal in a smoking-friendly establishment.

Osaka City Kita Ward Kurosaki-cho Shotengai "Hanamon" Today, for the first time, I decided to explore the Kurosaki-cho Shotengai located between Osaka Station and Temma Station. There are trendy shops for young people, but there are also quite a few retro izakayas scattered around. Where should I go...? Oh, I was curious about the standing bar Hanamon. The entrance looks a bit intimidating for first-time customers, which is nice. I decided to go in, and it was quiet. Inside, there is a counter on the left and two tables for up to 4 people in the back on the right. The retro atmosphere of the Showa era gives off a feeling of being out of place, but it's charming. I decided to stand at the counter. "Are you free? I'll bring you a chair," said the owner. "No, standing is fine. Thank you." "I want to enjoy the atmosphere," I replied. Let's start with a plain chu-hi to match the atmosphere. It reminds me of the taste of octopus chu-hi that I used to drink in my early 20s. I'm getting hungry. Let's see the menu... but there isn't one? It's a true retro izakaya, with short strips of paper above the counter that are hard to see from here. I stared at the strips of paper for a while. I ordered firefly squid with karashi vinegar miso and sea bream with saikyo-yaki. The squid arrived quickly. It was delicious and chewy. And the sea bream was also delicious, with a fluffy and sweet taste. I ordered a sweet potato shochu on the rocks. I also ordered a dashi-maki with green onions. The young male cook worked diligently. The shochu was from Kagoshima Prefecture, Hamada Shuzo's "Akautsuki." It was light and refreshing like barley, with a pleasant taste. The dashi-maki arrived. The broth was gentle, and the eggs were half-firm with crunchy green onions, a perfect match with the shochu. Let's order oden. I chose daikon and gobomaki. I also ordered lotus root kushikatsu. Oh, and a Sapporo Black Label too. The daikon was soft and delicious, and the gobomaki was a bit firm, reminiscent of the old days. The broth was gentle and easy to drink. The kushikatsu sauce and lotus root arrived. The lotus root was crunchy, and the sauce was a standard choice. Let's have some alcohol now. I decided to go with the classic. I ordered "Kudoki Jozu Junmai Ginjo" from Kame no I Brewery in Yamagata, served cold. It had a refreshing fruity sweetness and was easy to drink. I also ordered some fried chicken. I enjoyed the juicy fried chicken and was completely satisfied. I finished with a hot sake, "Kureharu Futsu Sake" (Gohyakuman) from Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture. It was stable and comforting. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I will definitely come back. [Personal Opinion] The closed door and the hard-to-see inside through the curtain make it a bit challenging for first-time customers to enter, but once inside, you can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of the Showa era. This is a smoking-friendly establishment.

Today, I went out for drinks with a friend. We decided to have a pre-drink before heading to the main bar, so we strolled around the Tenjinbashi shopping street. We came across a standing bar that caught our interest, but it seemed like they were still preparing, so we continued walking. Finally, we found this place. It seemed to mainly be a standing bar, but they also had some simple chairs for those who preferred to sit. Since we weren't planning to stay long, we decided to stand. We started with a toast with draft beer ( ^∀^) For food, we ordered light dishes: - Oden (daikon radish, boiled egg, fish cake) - Iburi Gakko (smoked pickled daikon) with cheese on top The owner recommended the oden, and it was all delicious with well-balanced flavors. The daikon was soft and easy to cut with chopsticks. When I saw Iburi Gakko with cheese on the menu, I couldn't resist ordering it, and it made me crave sake instead of beer. I decided to try Nanbu Bijin, a sake from Iwate. The owner automatically served a chaser with it. The sake had a slightly yellowish color and was very easy to drink. It went down smoothly. I noticed that there were many regular customers around, and they seemed familiar with the place, even taking bottles out of the fridge themselves. As the place started to get a bit crowded, we finished our meal and said thank you to the owner.

Around Temma Station, I went bar hopping and the third stop was here at "Hanamon"さん. Since it was my first time bar hopping, this will be the last stop for today!(*^∇^*)ノ My friend recommended this place as they have been here a few times after work. The majority of the customers inside are regulars. But that doesn't mean first-time visitors are unwelcome. It's primarily a standing bar, but when it's not busy, they will bring out chairs for you to relax and enjoy your drink٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و When I was deciding what to drink, a regular sitting next to me immediately gave me advice! And when I mentioned my preferences to the owner, they brought out a sake that matched my taste. ◆Yamamoto (Akita)◆ The label with the familiar blue characters caught my eye... (*°ㅁ°)‼✧ When I whispered "Yamamoto...?" the owner quickly brought it out saying "This one is easy to drink and delicious!" It was the one recommended by yuyuyuさん in a review from another place! I had it saved in my iPhone notes, so I knew it was the right choice! Sweet and refreshing taste. Delicious♪︎ヽ(*´∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀∀

September 4th week of 2017, in the evening. I haven't visited "Teien" in a while, even though I have a bottle kept there. I apologize for neglecting it. They had kept a one-liter bottle of Kuro Kirishima for me, which was a nice surprise. They have a great selection of shochu and surprisingly, a wide variety of sake as well, all reasonably priced. The homemade appetizers are delicious too. The bottle keeping service for Kuro Kirishima used to be 4,000 yen, but I noticed that the price list on the wall was gone, so they might have stopped the service. I ordered a watered-down set (for a fee) right away as beer tends to make me bloated. It came with crushed ice and mineral water. The kizami kombu simmered dish was incredibly tasty! The grilled salmon belly for 380 yen was crispy and juicy. Lastly, the doteyaki had a sweet white miso flavor, so I added a lot of shichimi spice. I will definitely come back without neglecting it this time. Thank you for the meal.

There was a hidden gem, Akaboshi, that I didn't notice until Kirin pointed it out. They have a lot of Japanese sake. When I was settling the bill to leave, a regular customer approached me and said, "Where are you from? You're a good guy!" It almost made me cry when he said, "Let's meet again!" The grilled fish was delicious!

Abundant appetizers and Japanese sake at "Kamon" in Temma Recently, the area around Temma Station has transitioned from being just a cluster of eateries to entering an era of cutthroat competition similar to Minami, with restaurants changing frequently and information being hard to keep up with. In contrast, the Tenroku Nakazakicho Shotengai, stretching from Temma to Nakazakicho, still has many familiar old establishments like Umaya, Rakunijin, Curry Den, Cantipool, Yatsu Sushi, Horiuchi Saketen, and Inada Saketen, providing a sense of calm. Among these, a relatively new standing bar called "Kamon" stands out. As soon as you enter the store, you'll see a refrigerator packed with local sake, priced from 200 yen per glass, which is very reasonable compared to the typical 500 yen for a half glass at recent sake-focused izakayas. The menu at Kamon, despite being a family-run business, is surprisingly extensive, with a fixed wall menu and a whiteboard filled with daily specials. Prices are mainly in the 300 yen range, offering a good value. The seafood selection, while not particularly rare, includes a variety of classic items. Starting with a sashimi platter of tuna, squid, and yellowtail, the freshness is excellent. They serve red shrimp, which was swimming in a tank, as sashimi with the head grilled with salt. The fresh octopus sashimi is rare and has a delightful crunchy texture. Other highlights include tightly packed mackerel sushi, vinegared sardines simmered with plum, seasonal fried oysters, unusual fried conger eel, and a variety of fried, grilled, and simmered seafood dishes. They also offer crispy kushikatsu, classic doteyaki, hearty yakisoba, and egg-rich potato salad that pair well with beer. Appetizers like cold tofu with homemade chili oil, elegant rolled omelette, a platter of four homemade side dishes, and tofu hot pot steeped in plenty of kelp and dashi are also not to be missed. Despite being a family-run business, the ability to offer such a wide range of dishes daily is a testament to the loyal customer base Kamon has already built up. Although the restaurant's history is relatively short, it already exudes a certain sense of dignity. For more details, visit the "Osaka/Kansai B-grade Gourmet Guide Recently Updated Stores" page.

Located in the middle of the Tenmatsu Nakazaki Street shopping district. I didn't know about this street until I saw a certain blogger visit it, so I decided to explore this area. I turned off Tenma shopping street, crossed the national highway, and entered the shopping street. Since the curtains were not out yet, I passed by once and came back. The door was open, so I asked if they were open yet, and they said I could come in now. They even brought out some chairs for me. I felt a bit bad, but I ordered a large bottle of beer without hesitation, choosing Asahi beer. By the way, their opening time is 4:00 PM. It was still before opening time, so I enjoyed my beer and took a short break. They even served me some peanuts as a service. After a while, I ordered sashimi, and it came as a mixed plate. It was a blissful afternoon, relaxing with beer and sashimi. They also served me pickled vegetables as a service, making me feel even more grateful. The refrigerator was filled with chilled sake. I definitely want to visit again. After this, I went on to visit more bars, so I thanked them and settled the bill. Thank you, Hanamon, I will visit again.

July 30, 2015 - It was a really hot day. Even after a brief evening shower, it remained humid. The meeting point for the Nakazaki-cho patrol. When I thought the counter was empty, there was no cool air from the air conditioner (~_~;) Warm air from the sake refrigerators at my feet. I decided to leave after just one beer and a local sake. The sake called "Hayate" from Mie was excellent. August 2014 - I was taken to a standing bar by a friend who knows a lot about them. Started with a bottle of Sapporo Red Star beer. Impressive. The refrigerator was filled with local sake, which was exciting. I tried the hamo bone senbei and grilled hormone. Quite good. The standing counter had a showcase and a small live fish tank. Interesting. I thought about having seafood to go with the sake (they also had sushi), but ended up choosing kushikatsu instead. The sauce style was no double dipping. The breadcrumbs were a bit coarse. The hamo kushikatsu received good reviews. The chutoro tekka maki didn't taste like chutoro, maybe because I had the kushikatsu first. The "Rule Breaker of Three Hundred Years of Brewing Tradition" sake I tried for the first time was a hit. It suited my taste.

This is my second visit to the restaurant! The owner seemed to remember me and gave a slight nod. I didn't expect to find Kirin Autumn Taste here. When I mentioned to the owner that Kirin Autumn Taste was available, the owner eagerly called to confirm and said they would stock it for the next time I visit. Such a response is very pleasing to customers! It became the trigger for my next visit ^^; Now, looking at the menu, I wanted to order the potato salad, but it was already sold out... What a disappointment... This is the second time I missed out (ーー;) The sashimi platter had fewer types of fish compared to my first visit, but the freshness was good and it was delicious. However, after drinking two large bottles and moving on to the second half, it helped me get over the shock of missing out on the potato salad! This stir-fried dish with shrimp, clams, and celery was very delicious and cheap! It goes very well with alcohol. And then there was the rolled omelette. The color of the eggs was a deep yellow close to orange. It was also very delicious and had a good portion size! The chef responsible for cooking is a chef and a wine lover. It's nice to have a chef at a standing bar, as you can enjoy cheap and delicious dishes. I enjoyed it again this time. I look forward to the daily dishes from now on. When will I be able to eat the potato salad... Ah, I need some healing... I was concerned about my first visit to this place, and I finally visited! The owner talked to me about various things, and when he realized it was my first time, he seemed to take some notes, showing how eager to learn he is. And I received a complimentary dish! When I ordered the sashimi platter, the chef also whispered something, and to my surprise, a slightly luxurious sashimi platter was served! The dishes overall were delicious! The eel skewers had a good portion size and were deliciously crispy. The sake selection was displayed in a showcase, with prices attached, which was fair! The sake I received was fruity and easy to drink, very delicious. The sashimi was neatly arranged. However, the eel sauce seemed to have spread to other fish, which was a bit concerning. The complimentary simmered fish I received was also very delicious! The owner's eagerness to learn left a lasting impression, so one visit is not enough. Since I also received a complimentary dish, ^^; I will visit again! Thank you for the meal. Ah, I need some healing...

Let's try going to a shop we haven't been to before and walk through the Tenroku Nakazaki Shotengai. This shopping street has some good shops. I found a standing bar called "Tachinomi Hanamon" and decided to go in. They have various types of sake available, each with the price per cup displayed on the one-liter bottle, making it easy to choose based on your wallet and preferences. The interior has a counter and standing tables, giving off a Showa-era vibe. The regular customers looked happy, enjoying their drinks. I ordered live prawns, which were prepared right in front of me. The head was grilled, and the body was a bit small but still tasty. I quenched my thirst with a Sapporo beer. The prices were reasonable, and they open from 3 pm, which is great for early drinking. I also tried a sashimi platter and a Kumamoto delicacy called yamauni tofu, which was marinated in miso. The concentrated umami flavor was delicious. They also served a dashimaki tamago, which was flavorful and well-done. They offer a variety of dishes like kushikatsu, making it easy to pair with your drinks. I will definitely visit again. They have a rotating selection of sake, so you can try different ones each time. I enjoyed a bottle of Dassai, which I often drink for its aroma. On a cold day, I had a warm dish of yudofu, which was packed with vegetables and a great deal at 480 yen. The tofu was smooth and tasty. I also couldn't resist ordering a tekka maki. It's a great place for both drinking and snacking. It was a satisfying experience.
