On a day off, I came to Kokura to Moji for a date and had lunch. The building was renovated from the site of the Sapporo Beer Brewing Building, and the interior with brick walls gave off a foreign atmosphere. There were various types of tables and sofas, creating a unified feel with character. The high ceilings, spacious seating, and dim lighting with jazz music playing created a calming atmosphere, recommended for those who enjoy a relaxed ambiance. It seems suitable not only for dates or girls' gatherings but also for family meals. I used a coupon for the lunch set and added dessert. The baked curry, originating from Moji, was exquisite. It falls into the standard category, but it matched my taste perfectly. The cheese was a great addition. The hamburger was incredibly tender and delicious. For 1000 yen, you get a set with salad, dessert, soup, and a drink, which is very affordable. Despite the great atmosphere and food, there weren't many customers, which was surprising. With this quality, it should have been more crowded. However, it was great to have the second floor to ourselves. I will definitely stop by again when I visit Moji. It seems that there are occasions when the place can be reserved for live performances or parties, so it's a good idea to check the website before visiting.

◆The area around my hometown Moji Station is undergoing a rapid transformation. Following the redevelopment of the area along National Route 99, old brick factories and warehouses have been renovated to create the "Moji Red Brick Place," similar to the retro atmosphere of Moji Port. It's amazing that you can now walk to the other side of Moji Station which is elevated. When I visit my hometown, I usually just drive by, as it's a bit far from my parents' house, but this time I decided to take a walk around the area. ◆I stumbled upon this shop during my walk. It was a brick hall, literally made of bricks. Upon entering the shop, I was surprised to find myself in what seemed like an old brick warehouse, and to my right, there was a splendid wooden stage. It turns out this is a live house. It was past 3 p.m. and there were only a few customers, so there were seats available on the first floor, but I felt like I wanted to sit in the atmospheric space on the second floor where you can watch the live performances from above. ◆My main purpose was to visit the renovated brick buildings and take a break from walking, so I didn't have high expectations for the tea and cake. However, surprisingly (excuse me!), this turned out to be a great place for tea and cake. I ordered a cake set, and the coffee and tea were delicious. The cake came with ice cream, and the wafer-like pastry on the ice cream was surprisingly tasty! This is a clever touch that I haven't experienced much before and I highly recommend it. The cake itself was average, but not disappointing. The honest service of decorating the cream and toppings after ordering is commendable. ◆The red brick building where this shop is located is surrounded by climbing roses. There may not be many varieties, but the plants are large, so when they bloom, it will be quite impressive. The flowers are expected to be at their best in mid-May. I'm looking forward to that time.

Moji Station, exit towards the sea side and walk 5 minutes... A area with impressive red brick buildings on the left. Among them, the old Sapporo Beer brewery building has been renovated into Brick Hall. Surrounded by high walls, there is a courtyard... Despite the large building, there is a small entrance that doesn't seem inviting. But once you open the door and step inside... Wow! It's a huge space, as expected from a brewery building. The space surrounded by aged bricks has a unique charm... High ceilings, large walls, and only a few windows make the interior dim and very moody. The lighting and cushioned sofas add a lot of character, and there is even a second-floor seating area. They have live performances on the permanent stage (they were having a kilim exhibition today). Exciting! Sitting near the entrance with a view of the courtyard, I checked out the menu. ★ Cake Set 780 yen - Cheesecake (with vanilla ice cream) - Cafe Latte * There is also chiffon cake available, and you can choose from various drinks like juice, black tea, coffee, and cafe au lait. ~ My thoughts: I had a delightful tea time in this antique space (laughs). The cakes were carefully made and homemade. The crispy pie on top of the ice cream... The creamy cheesecake with a rich milk aroma... The base is a crispy biscuit. Not too sweet and delicious! The cafe au lait poured into a glass cup was generous! The fluffy whipped foam... (Delicious! laughs) It's nice that you can have cafe au lait as part of the set (feels like a good deal). The atmosphere is great! Today, there were many madams coming and going due to an event, which made it a bit restless (the door was banging... sweat). But they kindly accommodated my seat change (thank you... bow). I was moved to the second floor, which was also lovely. The explanation about the shop was much appreciated (bow). I sank into the sofa and didn't want to get up... (laughs sweat) I unintentionally stayed longer... It's so cozy (Daily healing rating ★3.8). By the way, on this day, the drinks were served quickly, but the cake took some time. It was so comfortable that personally, I didn't mind (laughs). From lunch to cafe time... and bar at night, it seems like a place you can use all day! On a side note, this red brick place... was originally established by the Imperial Beer Company in 1912 (according to the website). Historical buildings have been renovated for modern times, repurposed as restaurants, cafes, event halls, etc. Old yet new... it makes you feel really luxurious (laughs). I'm very interested in this area! I have to visit all of them... (laughs) ~ One more thing ~ - Coin parking available - Lunch available (may be closed during events, so please check) Moji Red Brick Place http://mojirenga.navitown.com/index.html Brick Hall http://www.brickhall.com/

September 26, 2012 [Moji Ward] BRICK HALL Theme: Moji Ward A few days ago, I visited a restaurant called "BRICK HALL" for lunch. It is located behind Moji Station, along the road between Moji Station and Route 199. It is the old Sapporo Beer brewery building. I had trouble finding the location last time I visited, but it seems many others also struggle to find it. There was a sign posted to help guide visitors. The location is nice, especially during this pleasant season where eating outside would be enjoyable. The red brick building has a great atmosphere. There are various menus posted in front of the restaurant. The entrance looks like this, and there is a garden in the front. The main entrance is a bit hard to find. It was mentioned in another review that this place is used for movie filming, and indeed, it has a nice vibe. The interior of the restaurant is quite impressive with high ceilings and a spacious feel. The loft floor and sofa seats are charmingly arranged. There is a stage at the front. Inside the restaurant, handmade accessories by artists were being sold. The stage has a nice vintage feel. There are shelves with various flyers placed right inside the entrance. The lunch menu includes options like Hamburger Lunch, Fried Chicken Lunch, Curry Lunch, and Pasta Lunch. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the lunch menu seem a bit mismatched. I also found the fried chicken lunch option surprising. The appetizers included six types, such as potato salad, pumpkin with bacon, stir-fried tofu and bitter melon with pork belly, rolled omelet with sesame oil flavor, cucumber with black sesame, and corn potage. The rice was cooked to my liking, and the main dish, which I forgot to mention, was served a bit late. It had a black sesame and onion sauce. The set drink was orange juice, and dessert consisted of two types of ice cream – raspberry and vanilla with grapes as toppings. Restaurant Name: BRICK HALL Genre: Cafe, Coffee Specialty Shop, Bar/Other Alcohol Phone: 093-391-4411 Address: 3-6-1 Osatomachi, Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture Access: 213m from Moji Station Business Hours: Lunch 11:30-15:00, 11:30-25:00 (Lunch service, entrance allowed after 10 pm, open on Sundays) Closed on Mondays, or the following day if it's a public holiday.

Today, I visited BRICK HALL located behind Mojiko Station in Kitakyushu. The building has a unique atmosphere, originally being a Sapporo Beer factory. Inside, there are high ceilings, a loft floor, various types of sofa seats, and a stage on the right. It feels like being in a stylish European cafe. However, looking at the lunch menu... hamburgers, fried chicken, curry, it seems a bit off. I reluctantly ordered the "Hamburger Lunch with grated ponzu sauce" for 980 yen and the "Fried Chicken Lunch with black sesame onion sauce" for 980 yen. The set includes 6 appetizers, main dish, rice, soup, dessert, and a drink for 980 yen, which might be appealing to women. However, both the appetizers and main dishes were mediocre (fried chicken was decent), and the soup was too bland. Also, the male staff was lacking in friendliness. It's a shame for such a nice place... the building seems to be crying.

The red brick building looks really cool and has a unique atmosphere. There is a cafe in the back, and I ended up taking many photos. It's so stylish and lovely! Inside, there are various sofas where you can relax and lose track of time. However, the service was not very welcoming. I wish they would greet customers with a smile. I was expecting a more fashionable lunch like hamburgers or fried chicken, but it was disappointing. Nevertheless, the atmosphere is amazing and truly moving. I highly recommend checking it out.

This is a stylish space for adults with jazz live performances. Normally, they operate as a cafe with reasonable prices. The atmosphere is very fashionable with plenty of comfortable sofas. It's so cozy that customers tend to stay longer. I don't want to reveal the name of this place because I don't want it to get too crowded, but I also don't want it to go out of business due to lack of customers. It's a secret spot, so please come if you can keep it to yourself. The location and entrance are a bit hard to find. When I asked the waiter what their specialty dish was, they said "pizza" (which was delicious).

Located behind the Moji Red Brick Warehouse (formerly the Sapporo Beer Factory), this restaurant may be a bit hard to find, but it offers a calm and secluded atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle. It's not just about the ambiance - the food here is quite delicious, with a focus on creative Italian dishes. While the evenings have a more mature vibe with live music, the lunch menu is reasonably priced and tasty. You can relax on retro sofas and enjoy a leisurely meal. It tends to be more lively at night with many female customers, so I prefer to visit for lunch. The service is a bit hands-off, with moody jazz playing in the background, which is nice, but I wish the staff were a bit more energetic during the day. The cocktails could use some improvement to attract a wealthier clientele. Overall, it's a bit of a shame as the potential is there for a more upscale experience.
