I visited "Grand Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro" at the east exit of Ikebukuro in early September to watch a movie in the morning. On this day, I purchased a "Oolong Tea (M)" (380 yen) at the concession stand and moved into the theater. I wanted to secretly watch the popular movie "ONE PIECE FILM RED", so I took the morning off work and went to see it just before the last showing. It was being shown at a time that fit between my morning and afternoon work hours. Before 9 am at Grand Cinema Sunshine in Ikebukuro, there was only one open concession register with no line! It was empty and available. I got a hot coffee for 400 yen (including 8% tax), which was comforting on a cold morning. It was nice to be able to enjoy a delicious coffee at the movie theater. I think the concession used to offer a different coffee before, but I'm glad they switched to Costa Coffee. I have never read the ONE PIECE manga and didn't know anything about the story, but I watched the movie just because it was a popular topic. I have heard the song by Ado? UTA? many times at children's sports festivals. I thought UTA's hair, which was divided into left and right sides at the 73rd NHK Red and White Song Battle at the end of the year, was a special style for the event, but I was mistaken. I learned that the main character's name is Luffy.

Grand Cinema Sunshine is probably the most amazing movie theater in Japan right now, in my opinion. They have various types of screens, including IMAX. Ever since I watched Top Gun Maverick in IMAX Laser GT on the 12th floor back in August, I've been hooked and spent my days immersed in Top Gun from August to October. In September, they started showing the 1986 film "Top Gun" in succession, which I watched at Cinecitta Kawasaki. As the number of theaters showing the movie has decreased, I was thrilled when they started the continuous screenings again, so I decided to watch it at Grand Cinema Sunshine in Ikebukuro, specifically in the Premium Class on Screen 6 at BESTIA. The Premium Class seats have an additional fee on top of the regular ticket price, but they come with a 700 yen meal ticket (valid only on the day of the screening). The screening lasted from 11:35 to 16:00, so I opted for the Fried Potato + Drink M set for 750 yen. I remembered that if I become LINE friends with Grand Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro, I would receive a free Small size Caramel Popcorn voucher until December 31st, so I decided to add that as well. It was like having lunch, so I think it was a good choice. The Premium Class seats also recline, making the long screening time a comfortable experience.

Two drinks♪ First time experiencing 4DXヽ(=´▽`=)ﾉ♡ I was wondering why alcohol and ice are not allowed in 4DX, but once it started, I understood! 4DX is not just about seats shaking or water splashing, it's much more! It shakes a lot, vibrates, splashes water, and you can feel the heat! That's why ice would melt and drinks without lids would spill everywhere. It felt like being on a ride, making the movie even more enjoyable and addictiveヽ(=´▽`=)ﾉ I feel like watching Top Gun in 4DX now (*^^*)♡ My husband prefers salt while I prefer caramel, but the half & half option solved our dilemma♪

While there are IMAX theaters in Hibiya and Kiba, this theater stands out with its massive 26-meter screen, offering the best immersive experience in Tokyo. On the 12th floor, there is a cafe where you can bring in food from the menu. A popular item is the popcorn topped with freshly shaved truffles for ¥1650. However, Spider-Man wasn't very interesting.

The movie I was looking forward to is "The Matrix Resurrections," which I watched for the second time. I booked tickets for the IMAX screening. The movie theater spans from the 4th to the 12th floor, so the escalators made me a bit dizzy. I really wanted to buy popcorn, so I lined up on the 4th floor, but there was also a concession stand on the 12th floor with truffle toppings available! And there was even a lounge! The IMAX experience, combined with the amenities on the 12th floor, was fantastic! ♡

Today, I went to the movie theater to watch Terminator. I decided to visit the newly opened one. I reserved my seat online and arrived at the theater. The movie was scheduled for 11:50. There wasn't enough time to eat outside, so I went to the snack counter. I ordered a hot dog set (850 yen) and french fries (350 yen) along with a medium Coke Zero. The hot dog used saiboku ham sausage, which was really delicious and juicy. The fries were crispy and tasty. Overall, the experience at the newest movie theater was great with comfortable seats. The only downside was the high price of the hot dog set. Next time, I'll come to watch Frozen. Thank you for the meal.

The staff is very friendly! Even when I was in a hurry, they were quick to respond with a smile and consideration. If you're going to watch a movie, this is the place to go. The popcorn is great, but the potato was delicious too. I will definitely buy it again.

The last movie I watched in 2022 was "Avatar: Way of Water" at Grand Cinema Sunshine in Ikebukuro. The concession stand on the 4th floor offers popcorn and other typical food items. I visited on a weekday afternoon, and despite the theater being empty, the concession stand had a long line that zigzagged for over 15 minutes. If you plan to use the concession stand on a holiday, make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before the movie starts. The popcorn comes in small, medium, and large sizes, with the option to order a set in a small size. Despite waiting in line for over 15 minutes, my husband and child barely ate any popcorn during the 192-minute movie and ended up taking it home. The movie was so captivating that they were glued to the screen the whole time. The popcorn tasted great when we ate it at home. I watched "Avatar" at this theater in September and had always planned to watch "Avatar: Way of Water" with my family at this IMAX theater. The visuals were stunning, and despite the movie being 3 hours long, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend watching it at Grand Cinema Sunshine in Ikebukuro on the IMAX Laser GT3D screen for an amazing experience. The screen is huge, and the movie is truly impressive. My child, experiencing 3D glasses for the first time, was most impressed by the IMAX countdown where the numbers appeared to pop out in front of them. Their honest reaction was, "Is this still a movie?" My husband even imagined Toruk while watching a performer riding a giant bird set at the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. The actor playing Spider had a vibe similar to Okamura from the comedy duo Ninety-Nine. I got into going to the movies in the summer of 2021 and watched many films in 2022. I must have watched "Top Gun Maverick" about 7 times in the end. I'm looking forward to "Morricone: The Musician That Movies Fell in Love With" in January 2023 after seeing the trailer. In June, I'm excited for "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis," and in July, I can't wait for "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning."

I bought caramel popcorn. It was mostly small, broken pieces that looked like crumbs, making it difficult to eat during the movie. About half of the popcorn was in proper shape... I was disappointed because it was mostly crumbs, I almost wanted to eat it with a spoon. The movie time was ruined...

Today, I went on a movie date with my daughter to watch Sumikkogurashi. She requested popcorn to go with the movie, so I bought some here. I usually never buy popcorn (the smell and noise bother me), so I didn't know what size to get and ended up getting the medium size. I think it was 500 yen, but I'm not sure if that's expensive or cheap. My daughter wanted plain salted popcorn with a holder, so that's what we got. When it was handed to us, I realized it was quite big and I started to worry if we could finish it. Once we sat down, we set it up in the holder, which was very comfortable. Eating popcorn while watching the movie was surprisingly delicious! I never knew that date movies were like this, it was a new discovery for me at this age. It was a day with some new findings.
