I had a drink called "Jamaica Magic" with alcohol at the coffee shop "Alaska" in Kishiwada, and while casually walking along the Kishiwada Ekimae-dori Shotengai, I noticed a stand bar called "Dash Nigi" that seemed to serve craft beer. Since I had come all the way to Kishiwada in the evening, I didn't want to go home without stopping by this place to have a quick drink before heading back.
About the shop, it was a stand bar (standing bar) with a central "whiskey barrel table" and counters on the left and right walls, making it quite spacious. There were probably around 30-40 people who could fit in. Additionally, there were folding chairs under the counter, so you could also sit and drink if you prefer. The name of the shop, "Dash Nigi," is quite unique, derived from the idea of "drinking while keeping an eye on the train schedule and dashing to the station."
The payment method was cash on delivery, and I decided to start with a craft beer. There were four types available that day, and I chose the "MURAKAMI SEVEN IPA." The craft beer had a distinctive aroma and a good balance of bitterness in the aftertaste.
After enjoying the beer, I decided to order some snacks to go with my drinks. I ordered "Karaage" and "Okann no Goyori Mame" (a local dish from Kishiwada). The Karaage was served in a boat-shaped plate, and the chicken pieces were juicy and tender. The Goyori Mame, made by the owner's mother, was a sweet and savory mix of small fish, shrimp, and beans.
As I indulged in the snacks, the shop started filling up with regular customers, and before I knew it, the place was bustling with lively conversations. The friendly atmosphere and the generosity of the regulars made my experience even more enjoyable. I ended up staying for about two hours, trying all the craft beers and enjoying the "slightly tipsy" feeling.
Overall, it was a satisfying and fun experience, and I definitely plan to visit again when I'm in Kishiwada. It's a place where you can unwind and enjoy good drinks with friendly company.
